Competition Between Two Baka's
Miyu's pov.
It wasn't long before Sakura had made it all the way up the tree, triggering an irritability in both boys. They started competing with each other, trying to get to the top. But no matter what, they always fell. Sasuke was emmitting to much chakra while Naruto was emmitting to little.
Now both Sakura and I are watching the boys. She decided that she would give me a little company before sensei could give her another task. "So, Miyu."
"Hm?" I turned my head to Sakura. She stared down at her lap before lifting her head and sending Sasuke a glance that lingered a bit longer than it should.
"What's it like being close to Sasuke?" I raised my eyebrows at her question. "I mean, he doesn't push you away like he does everyone else. I was just wondering, that's all." She kept rambling on.
I slapped my handover her mouth, not hard, but enough to startle her. "Sakura, I get what your trying to say. Rambling doesn't suit you." I sighed and dropped my hand.
"Sorry." She laughed nervously.
"Honestly, I don't really know how to answer that, Sakura." I glances back at the boys who were sweating and I could see they were becoming very frustrated.
"Well.. um... can I ask, why doesn't he push you away?" Sakura asked, also looking toward the boys.
"I'm his twin. We support each other." I laughed a little as I though of childhood. "The longest we've ever been apart was... about an hour?"
"Really?" Sakura seemed surprised as she turned to me. I nodded, a small smile on my lips.
"Yeah. And even then it was the worst hour of our lives." Sakura smiled, and giggled. My smile dropped, thinking about our parents.
"So, what's he like?" She suddenly asked. I pursed my lips.
"Well... hm." I glanced at Sakura and felt a real smile form. "He's a bit of an air head." Her mouth dropped and she started laughing. And I joined her. But of course my fun was cut short by a sharp pain radiating through my stomach. "Ah!" I cried out, clutching my wound. Lifting the shirt, I was lucky it didn't start bleeding again. "I'm fine." I breathed.
"Are you sure?!" Sakura frowned as I nodded. "A-Alright."
"Sakura, I want you to go with Tazuna to the bridge and keep an eye on him." Sensei suddenly appeared.
"Alright, sensei. Can we talk later, Miyu?" Sakura smiled at me. I nodded and she left. I'm surprised. She isn't as annoying as I thought when she wasn't around Sasuke.
"How are you feeling, Miyu?" Sensei asked.
"I'm alright."
"I'm going to go back to the house. Tell the boys to start heading back when it starts getting dark." I nodded and sense poofed away. I sighed and sat up, grunting in pain, but I ignored it as I went to stand.
My legs felt a little numb and I stumbled, barely catching myself on the tree. "Hey, Miyu?" I jumped at Naruto's voice, losing my footing and falling straight forward into warm arms. How did he get in front of me so fast? I have no clue but he smells really good.
I could feel my face flush as I stood up abruptly, grunting as another wave of pain erupted through my body. Naruto caught me again as my legs collapsed beneath me.
"Are you alright?" Naruto asked as he helped me sit down, leaning my back against the tree. I sighed.
"Fine.." I glanced up at Naruto and tilted my head. "Did you need something?"
"Um, yeah. I was wondering.." Naruto looked down nervously. "Could you maybe give me some tips on how to do this right?" Naruto finally looked up, his bright blue eyes staring right I to mine.
"I.. suppose so.." I had to look away. His eyes felt like they could see into my soul. "Well, first, you have to feel your chakra flow through your body." I started, glancing back at Naruto. He looked utterly confused. "Uh.."
Naruto blinked.
I sighed. "Help me up." Naruto nodded and wrapped an arm behind my back, and around my waist, my right arm going behind his neck. He lifted me up carefully and stabled me on my unstable legs. "Okay. Turn to the tree."
Naruto obliged, and turned us. I could feel Sasuke's eyes burning holes into my back. I lifted my left foot onto the tree and then my right, Naruto following hesitantly as he held onto me. I flowed chakra between both of our bodies.
"Do you feel that?" I asked, taking a few more steps.
"Yeah." Naruto stared down at the tree.
"I'm flowing chakra through the both of us. You need to take a moment to feel your chakra network. Don't be so hasty." I breathed. The pain while moving is almost unbearable. "It will take a minute to focus a good amount of chakra to your feet and you need to focus. No distractions. That means that you shouldn't be worried how Sasuke is doing. Focus on the tree."
"I got it now!" Naruto grinned. And it was at that point, my legs decided they had had enough of the pain and would give out, making me fall into Naruto. And it was really weird since we were still sideways on the tree. "Wow!"
Naruto caught me just before I fell, and picked me up bridal style, jumping from the tree and landing on the ground. "You okay?" I nodded and sighed as he sat me on the ground.
"Yeah. I'm fine now." I layed down on the ground.
"I'm gonna go try again!" Naruto grinned and ran back to his tree, taking his time in concentrating. After a few goes he stopped. I looked over at the boys, surprised to see that Sasuke looked embarrassed. Wow.
"So.. what did Miyu say.. exactly...?" Sasuke looked to the side.
"Huh? I'm not telling!" Naruto teased. "Besides, she's your sister! Go ask yourself!" Sasuke glared at Naruto, his right eye twitching in irritation. As Naruto went back to his tree climbing, Sasuke crossed his arms and groaned, turning toward me. Our eyes met and I lifted my arms lazily.
Sasuke raised an eyebrow. "Time to go. Sensei wants us back by dark." I yelled so both boys would hear me. Naruto jumped from his tree and glared at Sasuke as said brother hurried to me, and picked me up.
Silently they walked back to the house. They, because I was being carried :3
***********
I stared in horror as both boys. I had lost my appetite and pushed my food away, even though I haven't eaten in days.
"Slow down!" Sakura yelled. I would have scolded them both but... let's face it. Watching them eat like they were made me want to throw up.
"Um... Tsunami.. I don't feel well." I muttered, standing on shaky legs. "Where's the rest room?"
"Down the hall to your left. Are you alright, Miyu?" I nodded and slowly left the room and rushed, well as much as I could, to the bathroom, shutting the door behind me.
I slumped down over the toilet, trying my hair back just before I started emptying the contents of my stomach.
Ewwww....
I stayed like that for a few minutes before my stomach settled. "Oh kami.. those bakas.." I breathed. Standing, I wiped my mouth and left the bathroom, heading back to the dining room.
Crying stopped me though. I stopped, my hand that wasn't keeping me steady on the wall, opened an almost closed door. My eyes widened as they landed on a little boy crying over a photo.
"Was what I said really that bad?" I jumped, my head jerking sideways toward Naruto.
"Why? What did you say?" I asked quietly. Naruto sighed and shook his head.
"I told him that we would stop Gato and his goons." I looked back to the boy. "And maybe called him a cry baby."
"I see." I opened the door a little bit more. "You can go downstairs. I'll be there in a minute." Opening the door fully, I wobbled inside. The boy looked up surprised as I approached him. I sat down on the ledge with him, looking at the photo he clutched as he tried to wipe his tears away.
"Who are you?" He asked.
"I'm Miyu. Who are you, squirt?" I laughed a little as he wiped his nose with the back of his hand. "Here." I pulled out a teeny tiny bag of tissues and wiped his nose.
"I can do it myself!" He smacked my hand away while taking the tissues. "I'm Inari. Aren't you the girl who got hurt?"
"Yeah but I'm getting better. What's up, squirt? Why are you crying?" I settled back, leaning on the little window frame thing, so I wasn't hurting.
"I wasn't crying." Inari glared at me.
"Oh yeah, then why can I see tear stains on your cheeks?" I ran my thumb across his right cheek, wiping away the small tear stain. "Don't lie to me."
"I..." A tear escaped his left eye and I wiped it away. "Why should I tell you. I bet you wouldn't understand anyway!" Inari again, glared at me.
"Try me."
**********
Inari and I were still talking. He had told me all about his dad. How he was a hero for saving the village, for standing up for what he believed was right, even though it got him killed. I didn't try to top it, nor did I tell him that I lost my entire clan, excluding Sasuke.
I just sat with him and held him as he started crying again. Yeah I did call him a coward at one point, and it made him go ballistic until I stopped him. I told him, "Why live in the past when you can move on and form a better future?"
I was surprised that he understood. And then we just talked about how to change the future. It was amazing how this little kid talked, it was honestly impressing.
I could sense sensei outside the door, listening to us. I could tell that he had wanted to come in but he stopped himself.
After awhile Inari had fallen asleep on me as we watched the stars glitter over the ocean. He literally was sitting in my lap, leaning back on me as he fell asleep. It wasn't long after that until I fell asleep to.
