Chapter 99: Labor

"I really should be going now," Naruto told his sensei. "Thank you for all the help, Kakashi-sensei."

"You're welcome," Kakashi said. "Also, Naruto, shouldn't your babies be born today?"

"Yeah, but Granny said Nia shouldn't be going into labor until the afternoon. It's about 7:30 A.M right now.

"I don't know, I just sorta have a bad feeling."

"Don't stress, Kakashi-sensei. I'm sure my sweetheart is fine."

"I know, but you really should check on her just in case. Labor can be really sporadic."

"I'm gonna go buy her and I some breakfast first and then I'll head back home."

"If you believe that's the right thing to do..."

"Trust me, she's fine. My little girls won't start kicking till later," Naruto smiled.

He then waved at the new hokage.

"I'm gonna get going now. See you later, Kakashi-sensei."

"Take care and congratulations on your baby girls."

"Thank you. Bye!"

With that, Naruto headed into the village streets.

"I can't believe it!" Naruto squealed. "My baby girls are gonna be born today. I'm gonna be a daddy! I'm gonna have an actual family, ya know!"

He then stopped.

"Hm? What should I get Nia and I to eat for breakfast?"

He thought of every spot he could. He remembered the girl saying she was a fan of scrambled eggs, toast sticks, pancakes, and sausage. There was a place he thought of that served all that and Naruto headed toward it.

When he went in, he was greeted by the owner.

"Thanks for stopping by, Mr. Hero. What can I get for ya this time?" The older man questioned.

"I was wondering if I can get two of the things I ordered last time with apple juice, ya know?" Naruto answered.

"Coming right up. It'll be some minutes."

"No problem," Naruto sat at a table.

"Waaaah!" He heard a baby crying as he glanced over to his left.

"Shh... Shh... it's alright, baby, it's alright," The mother rocked it in her arms.

A huge smile plastered on the blond's face.

'That's gonna be me today!' He thought excitedly. 'I'm finally gonna be able to hold Naruta and Nisaki in my arms after SO LONG! GYAH, I CAN'T WAIT! DADDY'S BABIES ARE COMING TONIGHT!'

After some time, Naruto's order came and he took it.

"So Naruto, how's your girlfriend?" The owner asked.

"She's doing fine. Her and I are supposed to be having our twin girls later on at night."

"Huh?" The man blinked. "Don't you think you should be watching over her right now just in case the babies come earlier?"

"Granny Tsunade told us she was fairly certain the babies would be born at night and that Nia would go into labor in the afternoon."

"Well, I'm still a bit worried for her. You should really get home, kid."

"Yeah, I will now. Thank you for cooking this for her and I. As always, I know we'll love it, ya know!"

"Hey, no problem, Naruto. Enjoy your food and congratulations on the babies!"

"Thank you! See you around."

With that, Naruto left the restaurant. He walked his way home and it took some time for him to reach the house. He grabbed his key and unlocked his door.

"Sweetie! I'm baaaac-"

"NARUTOOOOO!" A loud sob entered the genin's ears as it pierced his heart.

He could tell the loud, painful cry came from his beloved girlfriend.

"NIA!" Naruto dropped his bags.

He ran into the bedroom, watching as Nia was crying, holding her stomach and constantly flipping and turning to relieve the pain she was feeling.

"CRAP! NIA! WHAT'S WRONG?! WHAT'S WRONG?!"

Nia was in so much pain that she couldn't even answer. All she did was wail in pain.

When he looked down at her pants and the bed, he saw as there was a huge amount of water stains on them and it hit him.

"OH CRAP! OH CRAP! YOUR WATER! YOUR WATER BROKE!" He hollered.

"T-TAKE ME TO THE HOSPITAAAAL! It hurts! It HURTS, BAAABY!" Nia sobbed.

"SWEET NIA!" Naruto panicked and immediately lifted her in his arms, Nia screaming as he did.

With that, he hurried out of the bedroom and out the front door, closing it with his elbow. After that, he quickly took off to the hospital.

"Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!" He cursed as he raced to the building.

Nia was crying and her pain was getting to be unbearable.

'I'M SUCH AN IDIOT!' The blond insulted himself. 'This whole time Nia was in labor and I was out and about not at her side like I should've been! Now she's in an extraordinary amount of pain and it's all my fault! DAMN IT!'

When the two made it into the hospital, he placed Nia in a wheel chair.

"HEY! HEY!" He pushed her around. "QUICK! GET ME GRANNY OR SAKURA! MY GIRLFRIEND IS ABOUT TO GIVE BIRTH!"

Everyone heard the genin's constant begging and Nia's screaming. Soon a nurse would approach them.

"Quick! We need to take her over here!" She led the couple to a room.

Based on how much pain Nia was in, the nurse took them to the delivery room.

"Naruto?" Sakura was in there, surprised to see him in her room.

However, her curiosity was replaced with worry when she heard Nia yelling and twisting.

"Oh no! She must be in labor!" The pink haired girl gasped. "Quick! Put her on the bed!"

"On it!" Naruto lifted Nia out of her seat and placed her on her back on the hospital bed.

Immediately, everyone went to work on her.

"Get her vitals and blood drawn, asap!" Sakura ordered as the nurses hurried and did as told.

"Nia!" Naruto called out as they pushed him aside to get everything they needed.

"Naruto, it looks like Nia's been in labor for a pretty long while!" Sakura told him. "You dummy! Why didn't you bring her to the hospital sooner?!"

"I didn't know she was in labor. She said she was having contractions yesterday in the afternoon and we were fine. I had her go to sleep at night while I went to learn more about becoming hokage by Kakashi-sensei!"

"Didn't you know that she was gonna give birth today though?!"

"Yeah, but I thought you and Granny said she would be going into labor in the afternoon and that the twins would be born at night!" Naruto yelped.

"We said it was strong possibility that would happen, not that it was a definite case!" Sakura yelled.

"KYAAAAA!" Nia screeched as she spread her legs open. "IT HURTS! IT HURTS!"

"She can't get that epidural or whatever to relieve the pain?!" Naruto questioned.

"It might be already too late by the looks of it, but let me make sure!"

Sakura took off Nia's pants and underwear and checked how far along she was then gasped.

"YOU GUYS! GET READY! SHE'S FULLY DILATED!"

She next turned to her teammate.

"Naruto!"

"Yeah?!"

"I need you to be at Nia's side! Give her as much encouragement and love as you can give her!"

"Sweetheart!" Naruto hurried over to the girl and took her hand in his. "Sweetheart, I'm right here! I'M RIGHT HERE!"

"N-NARUTOOO! I'M SCARED! I'M SCARED, BABY!" Nia cried.

"Sweetheart! You can do this! Don't be scared!"

"Nia! You're about to give birth!" Sakura placed a sheet underneath the pregnant girl. "Be strong for us! The babies you've longed to see are finally coming to the world!"

"BAAAABYYYY!" Nia looked at Naruto in tears and with fear and worry in her eyes.

She then hollered again.

"THIS IS IT!" Sakura yelled. "PUSH, NIA! PUSH!"
