Chapter 60: Naruto and Nia ❤️

"Nia..." Naruto's eyes quivered as he caught sight of the girl standing before him with her arms wrapped around his midsection.

"Uzumaki..." She whimpered, tears forming in her eyes as the two gazed into one another's eyes.

Slowly, the blond turned around to face her and before Nia could get the chance to say anything, Naruto wrapped his arms around her; squeezing her as tight as he could to him.

"NIA!"

A fresh set of tears spilled out of his already reddened, puffy eyes.

"This can't be real! Are you really in my arms right now?!"

"Yes, baby," The girl was just as emotional, resting the profile of her face against his chest. "It's really me."

"B-But how? You're... you died, sweetheart!"

'It was because of your father...' Nia thought to herself. 'Originally, he had put some of his and your mother's chakra into you so that one day he'd get the chance to meet you in this astral plane sorta thing. He shared some of his chakra with me and now I'm able to see you just one more time before I really have to move on into the next life... I'm just sad that he told me not to tell you about this cause he wants to see your reaction for when you do get to meet him...'

"I... can't tell you," The girl said as she looked up at the genin. "Just know that the time I'm spending with you right now is very limited. I'm only a spirit, baby..."

"Why you..." Nine Tails growled. "I was almost set free! Why'd you have to show up?! This was all Minato's doing, wasn't it?!"

"M-Minato? Who's that?" Naruto questioned.

Nia grabbed his hand and warmly smiled at him.

"That fox is ruining our moment. Let's go somewhere more peaceful," She said as the scenery then changed around them.

It was pink and white everywhere. Sparkles decorated the area. The two were standing in what seemed to be an astral plane.

"Kuh!" Naruto collapsed to a knee as his emotions overtook him. "I can't... I can't take this..."

He was holding onto the girl's hand and squeezed it.

"Nia, I can't go on without you. I'd rather die with you than to... kuh... than to... kuh..."

"Naruto..." The girl gazed at him with sadness in her eyes.

"We were supposed to... be together forever. We were supposed to spend the rest of our lives together, sweetie!"

"I wanted... to spend the rest of my life with you too... I truly did," The girl replied, tears filling her eyes as she watched the genin drown in his despair.

"Kuh... Kuh..." The blond only sobbed with his forehead on her hand while his shoulders heaved.

"Baby... I'm so... sorry," Nia apologized. "I never wanted... any of this to occur. I tried my best to escape, I tried my best to defend myself, but... but..."

"It's my fault..." Naruto whimpered. " I should've never EVER had left you alone with just a clone to watch over you! I should've stayed with you! I should've stayed with you and protected you! I should've never went chasing after Sasuke and this whole thing wouldn't have had happened!"

He would then go mutter on about how stupid he was... How horrible of a boyfriend and friend he was to the girl in that very moment.

"It... wasn't your fault," Nia told him. "You did what you felt... you had to do."

"How can you... kuh... say that, Nia? If I hadn't left your side, you would... kuh... still be here right now."

"I am right here with you, Naruto... and I'll always be right here with you..."

"Kuh... Kuh..." He only continued to weep as his hand trembled along with his whole body.

Nia squeezed his hand.

"It's true... No matter what, I'll always watch over you. No matter what, I'll always be here for you whenever you need me. It doesn't matter whether or not I'm alive — I'll always be living in your heart and in your soul."

"But that's not enough..." Naruto finally looked up at her, his face wet with tears. "I need you here with me... I can't... Kuh... imagine living the rest of my life without you. It feels like hell. I wanna die with you! I don't wanna be without you! I'll do anything to be with you again! I'll even take my lif-"

SLAP!

Naruto's eyes slightly widened as he felt a throb coming from his reddened cheek. Slowly, he made eye contact with Nia once more as she said to him:

"How could you ever say such a thing?!" Tears spilled down her cheeks. "Throwing your life away when there's so many things you need to accomplish and experience in the time you have left in your life!"

"Nia..." His eyes quivered.

"Even if... it pains the both of us that we can no longer be physically together, you know as much as I do that the shinobi world needs you. Jiraiya-sensei and I... We both wish for you to make peace between all nations and villages so no more lives will be taken prematurely, so that no more adults, and especially children, have to die. I need for you to stay alive, Naruto... even if it kills you to not have me around you anymore."

"But-"

"But nothing," Nia cut him off. "I need for you to be strong. Sure, you can take the time to grieve over mine and our babies' death, but eventually, I need for you to get back on your feet... I need for you to keep you head up high and flash that smile that everyone loves so much... that I... love so much."

Naruto sniffled.

"I can see... what's going on with you in the afterlife. I know that you've been suffering dearly in here... I know that you formed eight tails outside of this place. I watched it all..." The girl continued. "For as long as you live, I'll be able to keep watch over you from heaven... along with our... babies."

"Our... babies?" Naruto looked bewildered.

Nia gave a small smile as her cheeks warmed up.

"Yes... our babies..." She said as two golden lights appeared above them.

"WAAAAH!" A cry entered the lovers' ears as two small babies appeared in place of the light, floating downward.

The baby wrapped in a purple blanket, softly landed in Nia's arms as the baby wrapped in a pink blanket, slowly made its way down to Naruto.

Slowly, he stood up and put his arms out, allowing the baby to gently rest in his arms. When he held onto it, immediately it stopped crying.

"This can't... be real," He mumbled as he gazed down at it.

"They're... our babies," Tears dripped down Nia's face. "Our love made... two baby girls."

"My babies..." A fresh set of tears also filled the genin's eyes as he reached to pinch it's cheek.

The baby stared at him with it's cerulean blue eyes.

Never had Naruto felt so much love for a small being as much as he did his young ones. They were so precious to him... so incredibly vulnerable.

"They look... like a perfect mixture of us," Nia spoke. "Your blue eyes, my dark hair, their skin a perfect balance between yours and mine... they're-"

"Beautiful," Naruto finished her sentence. "Absolutely beautiful..."

"I've been trying to think of names to give them, but... I didn't want to name them without your input. They're your daughters too and therefore, you should have a say in what their names should be."

"I wanna name... one of them after me," Naruto said.

Nia smiled. "I'll let you name the baby you're holding whatever you want. I won't argue with you. Name her, honeybun."

"Naruta," He came up with. "I wanna name her Naruta."

"Naruta..." Nia repeated. "That's... a lovely name."

"Nia... I want you to name the baby in your arms too. I'm fine with any name you give her as well..."

"Nisaki," She said. "I've been wanting to name one of them Nisaki..."

"Nisaki, huh?" For the first time since Nia's death, the blond smiled. "I see... I like it."

"Naruto... our babies... they'll be right here with me watching as you take on the world and change it for the better."

Naruto lowered his eyes and sniffled. His smile fell as he once more thought of Nia and their babies no longer being alive or able to live alongside him.

There was a lump in his throat that he just couldn't swallow. Again, his eyes became blurry with tears and his face became red while his nose was stuffy.

Truly, their death had traumatized him.

Suddenly, Naruta cooed, reaching up to grab his nose. A tear fell out of the genin's eyes and onto her soft squishy cheek as he felt her gentle pinch.

"Daddy... Daddy loves you," He whimpered as this happened.

He then reached for Nisaki's cheek and pinched it.

"Daddy... Kuh... Daddy loves you both," He couldn't stop crying.

"N-Naruto..." Nia was in tears as well.

"I love you, Nia..." He then told her, resting a trembling hand on her cheek. "I love you so much. More than... Kuh... Kuh... a-anything in this world."

"I love you too, honeybun... I'll always love you."

The blond lowered his head and pinched the bridge of his nose, unable to stop sobbing.

"Naruto, you'll find another one..." Nia told him. "Another woman who'll love you just as much as I did and still do."

Naruto only drowned in his sorrow.

"I can't let you live the rest of your life alone... with no one to come home to and no children to call you Daddy. Even if I hate the idea of you being with another woman, I... can't let you suffer for the rest of your life and have you miss out on achieving a family of your own."

"D-Don't say that, Nia..." Naruto cried. "N-No other woman could ever... Kuh... ever replace you. Even if I did meet someone else... you'll always be the one who truly has my heart. I'll never be able to get over you, ya know..."

Nia felt her heart melt, but she had to ignore it for his sake.

"No, Naruto," She rested a hand on his cheek. "I need you to allow another woman in your heart. I just... want you to be happy even if it stings me to know that I won't be the one who'll get the chance to walk down the aisle and marry you then have your babies and grow old together with you."

"B-But Nia..." The ninja croaked.

"Here," She held her arms out. "I want you... to hold Nisaki also. We... don't have that much time left before we have to cross over to the other side, baby."

"N-No... I don't want you to go, Nia," He switched babies without losing eye contact with his deceased girlfriend.

"I have to, baby. I can feel myself starting to fade from this conscious."

This only broke the young man's heart.

"BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M GONNA DO WITHOUT YOU!" He panicked. "Please, Nia... Please just stay with me..."

"Oh Naruto..." Nia couldn't keep her emotions in check.

"I'll do anything," There was an ache in his tone. "I'll do anything to have you back. I'll not go on missions so much, I'll take care of our babies, I'll be a better boyfriend to you, I'll do anything, ya know!"

"You've... already done all that you can..." The kunoichi told him.

"Nia..." The blond sniffled.

"I'm serious, Naruto. You've done all that you could do for me. You've made me extremely happy."

Naruto wiped his eyes, only for a new batch of tears to replace the wiped away ones.

Nia tried to muster a smile for him as her's and the twins' bodies began to glow.

"It's time," She told him as a brush of wind softly blew at her. "Any moment now me and the babies will be returning to heaven..."

Slowly, the twins first began to lift into the air.

"NO! PLEASE NO!" Naruto desperately attempted to reach them again, only for his hands to go right through their transparent bodies.

When he realized there was no way he was getting them back, he immediately focused his attention on Nia, who had yet to turn into a ghost like figure.

"NIA!" He wrapped his arms around her and squeezed her the tightest he'd ever squeezed her before, tears just streaming down his face.

"Uzumaki," Nia hugged him back just as tightly, tears also raining down her tear-stained face.

They knew... it would be a very long time until they'd once more get to see one another. They knew this was their final meeting.

"I don't want you to go," The blond sobbed the hardest he's ever had. "I'M BEGGING YOU! PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME! I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART!"

"I love you too, baby! I love you too," The girl held onto him like she never wanted to let go. Her fingers dug into his back through his jacket.

This was it... The last moment... The last time they'd ever be able to see eachother... The last time their love would reach one another physically until Naruto's own death would occur and they'd be reunited.

Or... was it?

Suddenly, the twins' bursted into sparkles of golden light. Those sparkles of light traveled into Nia's belly as she herself glowed red. Her and Naruto stayed in one another's arms weeping, desperately clinging onto eachother.

"I won't let it end here," A familiar voice echoed throughout the astral plane as Nia caught ear of it.

However, she ignored it in favor of spending her last moments with her beloved.

"Nia..." It spoke to her again. "You never deserved to have your life shortened like that... nor does Naruto deserve to lose his chance at having a family with the one he grew to love deeply."

'J-Jiraiya-sensei...' The girl thought as she felt weird inside.

"I've figured out a way... to give you another chance at life," He said, making the girl's eyes widen.

"W-What are you talking about?' She questioned in disbelief. 'There's nothing that can be done to bring me back. My chance at living a full fulfilling life had been stolen away from me. I'm dead now. I have to embrace the afterlife now."

"No... It isn't your time yet. You still have things to do. You still have that knucklehead to be with forever..."

"I... do?"

"Yes," The sannin answered. "Do you remember that kanji you had on your hand? The one that read "Love"?"

"Y-Yes... What about it?"

"Well, you remember how you figured out that your mark granted you the ability to restore your life one time just through the love and bond that you share with Naruto?"

"Yes."

"Well, my young one... Minato, Kushina, and I have just figured out what it is that the kanji on my hand has the ability to do..."

"W-What is it?"

"You won't believe it... but... I've been given the chance to have any one wish I want granted right here, right now. The only thing about it is that it has to be that of a benevolent wish... One with good intentions..."

Nia replied, "But there are so many things you could wish for. Like... wishing for the world to be in peace."

"I could, but... I believe that I won't need to make that wish cause I already know that the world will be in peace one of these days. I trust full heartedly in Naruto to make that happen, you know..."

"But why? Why would you waste your wish on bringing me back to life? You could... You could bring back his parents!"

"We've already decided that won't be necessary," Another voice spoke up as Nia immediately recognized it as Minato's. "Kushina and I decided it would be you and our grandchildren that will be returning to life to live together with our son."

"Yes, indeed," Kushina talked next. "We could never selfishly allow ourselves to be brought back to life when your unborn babies have yet to live a life themselves. It was stolen from them as was yours for the most part. You've still got decades to live out, ya know?"

"You guys..." Tears were still dripping from the girl's eyes as she continued to hold onto her boyfriend.

"We want you to take care of our son," The redhead continued. "We can't bear to see him endure such heartbreak... He's lost Minato and I, Jiraiya-sensei... but I refuse to accept you and our grandchildren's death. He won't live through that pain! I won't let him go through life without you and you guys' babies."

"That's right. Such a thing would be horrible on his mental health," Minato added. "We don't want to see our son suffering any longer. He's suffered enough in his life. He needs you, Nia. He needs a family of his own. As his father and mother, Kushina and I hand him over to you so you two can eventually settle down and have as much babies as you two desire."

"Please... just do whatever you can to keep that smile on our boy's face," Kushina begged as tears filled her eyes. "We know you can make him happy. We know that you'd do the best you can to ensure he won't be miserable. All we care about is that he goes and be with someone who truly loves him for him."

"I promise..." Nia completely lost it and balled her eyes out. "I promise I'll do whatever I can to make him happy... I promise to make his life amazing... I promise to be his wife and have his babies... I promise to be the best damn girlfriend, wife, and mother that I can possibly be, I promise to do absolutely everything in power to make sure he and I stay together forever, I promise you guys just... just EVERYTHING!"

"That's... exact what we wanted to hear," Nia could sense Minato smiling warmly somewhere out there. 'We know... you'll make our son happy."

"I can't... I can't take this..." Nia could only sob.

"It's time, Nia..." Jiraiya once more spoke to her. "It's time for me to make my wish..."

"But how? How is it possible?! Who or what are you wishing this too?"

"That's something... I'll have to tell you another time," He replied. "Now then... Do you mind giving Naruto one last message for me?"

"No, of course I don't mind."

"Just tell him... He'll make one hell of a Hokage and that I'll always be watching over him always..."

"Yes... I'll let him know."

"And that goes for you too, dear. I'll keep watch over you and those adorable babies of yours. As will Minato and Kushina over here."

"And one more thing. Asuma would like you to relay a message to Shikamaru and Kurenai..."

The sannin would then go on to give her the message.

"Yes... I'll be able to give them the message." She then would go on to ask. "Wouldn't Minato and Kushina like to say anything to Naruto? I'm sure he would love to be able to hear from you two."

"They'll have their chance to meet with their son one day so you need not worry about that. Now then... onto that wish..."

Seconds later, Nia's body continued to shine red as the sound of a beating heart could be heard throughout the astral plane.

"Nia!" Naruto cupped her cheek and pressed his lips against her's, unaware of what was taking place.

Her body was then beginning to fade as soon she also had became that of pink sparkles. Naruto fell to his knees as this happened and mourned over what he felt was his loss.

Outside, however, something else was happening entirely.

The jinchuriki was finally beginning to calm down as it began to shrink and it's tails began to vanish. Soon, Naruto would be lying on the ground unconscious, burnt beyond recognition.

After having saw this, the masked man and Zetsu had left the area, feeling as though their mission was done.

"NARUTO!" Sakura saw her teammate's body and was going to run over to him, only to notice something strange.

Nia's chest was moving up and down. The girl was breathing!

"N-No way..." Her eyes widened at the sight of the girl's wounds healing itself.

Immediately, she placed her arms over her and searched for two heartbeats.

"I... I can sense it... Two heartbeats... They're beating... They're... But how?! How are they alive?! I watched them die!"

Just like Jiraiya had made clear, Nia Umino and her babies were resurrected — They were brought back to life!

A/N - FINALLY I'M DONE! Whew, that took me a while to plan out and finish. Yep! Nia is alive lol couldn't keep her dead! I was heartbroken just like y'all.
