Chapter 52: Rest

"Nia," Naruto lightly shook the girl as she was asleep next to him. "Nia."

"B-Baby," The girl yawned and fluttered her eyes open, looking over her shoulder. "It's late... Why aren't you asleep yet?"

"I can't," He brought her closer to himself as an arm rested over her side. "I'm too scared."

"Of what?"

"What if I go to sleep and the Akatsuki finds us and attacks you?"

Nia softly sighed and turned around.

"Baby, you need to rest. I'll be just fine."

"Nia..." The genin whimpered.

"Naruto, your eyes are red. You need sleep. Quit keeping yourself up all night."

The blond stroked her cheek.

"I just can't let you get hurt. I wouldn't be able to handle it."

"Oh Honeybun," Nia blushed and moved closer to him, resting her head and hands at his chest while he wrapped his arms around her.

"Ugh, you two are so annoying. Quit talking and go to sleep already," Sakura said groggily as she laid some feet away from them by the fire they made. "We're going to be needing all our strength in case we encounter Sasuke today later on. Get all the rest you can now so you're not slowing me down later."

"You know, she's right, Naruto. You don't wanna face Sasuke exhausted, do you?" Nia said.

Naruto shook his head. "No, of course not."

"Then let's get some rest, okay?"

The genin pouted.

"Let's talk for a bit, sweetie..."

"About what? Sakura's trying to sleep. We're being loud."

"Then let's lay over there," Naruto pointed some yards behind them.

"Baby, I'm really trying to get some sleep."

"Please sweetie, let's just move over there."

"All right, all right. Fine..." Nia said, sitting up and wiping her eye.

A minute later, her and Naruto would lay down at their new spot, away from Sakura and facing one another.

"What did you wanna talk about?" The girl asked as Naruto ran a finger down her cheek.

"You... wouldn't lie to me, would ya?"

"About what?"

"Anything," The ninja replied.

"I wouldn't lie to you about anything," Nia said.

"Nia, look at me. Would you?"

"Of course not, Naruto. I could never look at that handsome face of yours and lie straight to it."

"You said you'd have my baby, but there's just something I need to get off my chest before I keep trying to get you pregnant."

"Yeah? What is it?"

"Akihiko..." He breathed. "Tell me the truth: did you like him at any point in time?"

"Akihiko?" The girl blinked a few times. "No... I never liked him before."

"Nia, don't lie to me," Naruto narrowed his eyes.

"I'm not lying to you, baby. I didn't like him in that way."

"Did you wanna give birth to his babies?"

"Of course not."

"Did you like the attention he was giving you?"

This time, Nia stayed quiet.

Naruto frowned.

"Are you serious?"

"Baby-"

"I don't wanna hear it," Naruto crossed his arms and glared at her. "Why am I not surprised you liked all the attention he was giving you? Of course you would."

"I did, but it was only cause you weren't paying attention to me and cause you were all about Sakura back then. I felt ugly and lonely, but I still cared for you, Naruto."

"Yeah right, I bet you were dying to be in his arms."

"Baby, don't be like that. I didn't want his affection."

"Don't you lie to me. I bet you were willing to let him hold you. Everytime I left you alone with him for two seconds, you two were always getting ready to lock lips, ya know!"

"No, he kept trying to kiss or touch me, but I kept either rejecting him or you would pop out from out of nowhere to stop him."

"Mhm..." Naruto didn't believe her.

"It's true."

"So then, who do you care for more: me or him?"

"You, baby."

Naruto raised a brow.

"Naruto," Nia whimpered. "I wanna have your baby. Not his."

"Do you really love me, Nia?" The genin questioned.

"Why's that even a question? Of course I do. You know I do."

"Give me a kiss," Naruto leaned toward her to which Nia did also and kissed him on the lips.

"Naruto, there's no need for you to ever be jealous of anyone. I could never notice anyone in the same way I notice you."

"I just don't want another man to hold you, all right, sweetheart?"

"I hear you..." The girl then sighed. "Now... may we please go to sleep? I need rest, honeybun. I'm about ready to pass out."

"Stay up with me a little while longer," Naruto begged.

Nia yawned.

"Baby, seriously..."

"I love you, sweetie..." He told her. "Say you love me back."

"I love you, honeybun," She said.

Naruto kissed her cheek.

"You're so sweet. I really love you."

"You make me feel really amazing," The girl cuddled up to him.

"I can make you feel even more good, sweetie," Naruto ran a finger down her back as this made the girl blush.

"Not tonight, baby."

"Let your hero hold you tonight, sweetie."

"Naruto," The girl gasped when the blond leaned his head down and started sucking on her neck.

"B-Baby~" She then moaned at the feel of his hand squeezing her breast.

"Let me make you feel good," The blond brushed his lips across her cheek and next nibbled onto her ear. "I'll do anything to touch you right now."

"N-Naruto, don't say that," Electricity shot up the kunoichi's body as she pressed and rubbed in her thighs together.

Naruto lowered his hand and pressed his fingers into her pants and against her panties.

The genin sighed.

"Fine," He breathed. "But at least let me make you feel good."

"..." Naruto frowned.

Nia kissed his cheek.

"What you did felt good, but now is not the time for that. You should be focusing on getting your friend back. Not on me."

"I am focused on getting Sasuke back. I'll do whatever it takes to return him to the Hidden Leaf, ya know."

"If that's so, then get some sleep. You'll regret it if we confront him and you're low on energy cause you didn't sleep."

"I know, but-"

"Goodnight, Naruto," Nia laid her head back down on the pillow and pulled her blanket over her shoulders, facing her back toward him.

Naruto sighed, plopping the profile of his face back down on his pillow. He wrapped an arm around Nia and pulled her back to his chest, kissing the top of her head.

"I love you," He said, holding her close to him. "And I'm so relieved you agreed to have my baby. I feel so much more at peace now."

"I'm still scared about it though," Nia expressed.

"But in nine months, you'll be ready to give birth to our child."

"You really think so, Naruto?"

"I know so, sweetheart."

"But what if, after nine months, i'm still not ready?"

"That won't happen. I'll make sure you're ready and make sure you're comfortable enough to give birth to our baby, ya know? Just leave it to me."

"Baby..." The girl reddened.

"I'll carry out my promise about defeating the Akatsuki, earning enough to take care of our family, and bringing Sasuke back in the span of nine months."

"You really promise, honeybun?"

"I never go back on my word. I swear it, Nia. Our baby will grow up in peace."

"Oh Naruto..." Nia flipped around and scooted into his arms as Naruto still wrapped his arms around her.

"I'll take care of you, sweetheart. Just you wait."

"And you'll be here for me?"

"Yes. I'll be there for you during the entirety of your pregnancy. I won't leave you alone."

"Naruto, you're going to be a daddy. I'm going to be a mommy," Nia couldn't stop daydreaming of their future.

"I know... I'm so excited, sweetie. I'll finally have a family to go home to."

"Oh Honeybun..." Nia melted.

"We're going to spend the rest of our lives together," Naruto told her, much to Nia's joy.

"And then die together as an old couple."

"Exactly..."

Nia smiled to herself at the thought of their life being spent with one another for years.

Finally, it wouldn't be that long after when the two would fall asleep in one another's arms. By the time morning rolled around, Naruto would awaken to find Nia still fast asleep.

He bended his elbow on the sleeping bag and rested his head on his palm. He stared, trailing a finger down her temple all the way to her cheek then her jaw.

'After this mission, she'll truly be safe,' He thought. 'She agreed to have my baby... Once we find out she's pregnant, no more will she have to keep putting her life in danger. She'll just be home like she should be, getting ready to take care of my baby.'

Seconds later, Nia would stir. Slowly, her eyelids would lift to find Naruto giving her a warm smile. The girl's cheeks reddened as she averted her eyes.

"D-Don't just... stare at me like that," She hid her face in her hands.

"But... you're beautiful, Nia. I couldn't help myself, ya know."

"Y-You're just saying that."

"No, I mean it."

"B-Baby," Nia's face reddened even more.

"My sweetheart is beautiful," The blond said. "She'll always be beautiful to me."

"Y-You're just t-trying to sweet talk me."

"Sweetie, don't say stuff like that. Can't you tell I'm being sincere?"

Naruto removed her hands away from her face and gazed at her.

"Your hero loves you."

"Naruto," Nia lowered her eyes as steam rose out of her heated face.

"And now that you're having his baby, we can both finally take a breather once this mission is over and done with. All you'll have to focus on is giving birth to our child."

"This still sounds insane to me," The girl expressed.

Naruto kissed her cheek.

"It's what we gotta do to ensure your safety. Don't you understand that, Nia?"

Nia nodded.

"So then let's try and not think negatively about this. You're having my baby and that's that."

"I know, but it's just... we're so young, Naruto. I feel like we're just-"

"Nia, at the end of the day, we're doing this to keep you alive," The genin cupped her face and forced her to look him in the eyes. "That's all that matters."

Nia nodded.

"Yes... I know."

"You don't need to be so scared. I'm going to take care of everything, okay?"

"Yes, I hear you."

Naruto brushed his thumb across her cheek.

"I've already came up with some baby names, Nia. Do you wanna hear them?"

"Uh-huh. Of course."

"Naruto Jr. is one."

"Naruto Jr?" Nia couldn't stop blushing.

"Yeah and if it's a girl, her name can be: Naruta or Narutia."

"What other names do you have in mind?"

"Naruto the great, Naruto the hero, Naruto the Hokage... Naruto the second."

"They all sound lovely," Nia thought.

"Don't they?!" Naruto grinned.

"You are so full of yourself," Sakura stood in front of the two as she threw a bag over her shoulder. "You might as well just name your baby Naruto since you're so conceded."

"You don't gotta say that, Sakura," The genin pouted. "Those names are beautiful just like how Nia's and my baby will be."

"You're both out of your mind," She responded before turning her back to them. "But now is not the time for chit chat. Let's get moving. C'mon."
