Chapter 14: The Darkness In A Once Pure Heart: Hinata vs Nia
"Ugh!" Nia stumbled backward and leaned against a metal trash can with an elbow on the lid while she used her hand to wipe away some blood from her lip after receiving a strong right hand from Hinata.
"I... was the one who was there for him when no one cared for him..." The Hyuga slowly approached her opponent, cutting through a dark alley. "You have no idea how bad the villagers treated Naruto when we were younger. You weren't there to see how hard he's worked to get to where he is now like I've observed."
'T-This is crazy...' Nia thought to herself as she immediately lifted the garbage lid and used it as a shield when Hinata attempted to try her version of the sixty-four palms on the girl, though she couldn't completely master it like her cousin Neji. 'Even though I know she's being manipulated by Fuyuka's jutsu like Naruto was, if she's sharing her anger to me like this, there has to be some truth to it! Fuyuka has always dug into someone's misfortune and used her power to triple the amount of negative emotions within one's heart and bring forth those powerful feelings to the surface and have them act out on it!'
Having been distracted by her own thoughts, Nia was unaware that she left her midsection wide open and payed for that mistake as Hinata took that chance to knee her right in the gut and caused the kunoichi to keel over before receiving yet another blow below her chin with the Hyuga's open palm, sending her flying backward on her back across the dirt.
"Ah," She sat up and rested her hand on her chin with her other hand still tightly grasping the garbage lid. "Damn, I bit my tongue when she did that... I need to be more aware or I'm done for."
Her opponent made her way over to her as Nia stood back up. The two staring dead at the other's eyes.
"Why is it that you've managed to catch his eye and not me?" Hinata questioned. "I've loved him since we were children. I was the one who was supposed to be his girlfriend right now, not you."
"Okay, okay, I get it... you feel entitled because you liked him way before I ever did... so what? I forged a strong bond with him within the first half year of me getting to know him than you ever did in the span of your entire life."
Hearing this, the Hyuga turned her head for a brief moment before snapping it back at her enemy and connecting her hand to her face, resulting in an open-handed smack. The slap was as loud as a clap and stung Nia's face.
Clutching her cheek as it was throbbing, Nia's temper flared.
"You stay away from Naruto," Hinata then pushed against the girl's chest hard, making Nia take a few steps back.. "He's not yours to have. I'm the one who should be with him! Not you."
Word after word that flowed from her lips thereafter angered the Umino girl more by the second. Her patience was running out and rage boiled through her body. She barely had a chance to think of her actions. The only thought running through her head was getting the Hyuga to shut up.
She approached the girl again, pursed her lips and raised her hand back then threw it forward and whipped it across her opponent's face. The crack of skin contacting skin echoed throughout the alleyway. Vibrations of pain started in her palm and spread all the way to her finger tips. The kunoichi's palm was bright red, the same red mark that matched the one on Hinata's face. The Hyuga stared at Nia with widened eyes as her hand slowly made it to her fire red cheek and realized she just got served a taste of her medicine.
Nia was hoping to feel some kind of remorse. But she didn't. Not one organ in her body could produce guilt for her actions. In fact, she proceeded to grab a fistful of Hinata's hair and yank it back, causing the girl to fall backwards and hit the back of her head to the ground as Nia then climbed on top of her and began throwing jabs down at her.
"Argh! I'm so sick of your crap right now!" She hollered as Hinata was attempting to defend herself as best as possible with her arms raised as a shield. "How the hell are you gonna blame me for your failure with Naruto when you know damn well you only have yourself to blame for not talking to him?! You guys are acquaintances! You barely know each other! Accept it!"
Infuriated, the Hyuga managed to flip her opponent around and was now the one to be throwing blows down at her head.
"That doesn't matter!" She shot back as Nia struggled to get the girl off her. "Besides, everyone here knows it's me who would be able to get the villagers to acknowledge him way faster than you ever could! I'm from the prestigious Hyuga clan... you're not anywhere near my level in prestige, beauty, personality nor anywhere el-
"Shut the hell up!" Nia reached for the garbage lid still laying near her and used it to bash Hinata's face and throw the girl off her.
With that, she kipped up and used her sleeve to wipe the blood dripping from her nose down to her chin. Now sporting a swollen eye and a few small bruises and cuts to the face along with having been slightly beaten in the body, Nia lop-sidedly approached her enemy and once more grabbed a fist full of hair.
However, Hinata fought back and kneed the kunoichi in the gut before doing what had been done to her and yanked Nia's hair — pulling the girl to a brick wall and proceeding to try and smash her face against it though to her dismay, failed to do so as her opponent merely placed her foot on the side of the building to stop the momentum then elbowed the Hyuga in the eye.
As her opponent backed away while grunting in agony from being attacked at a sensitive spot, Nia next took advantage of the situation, clasped the back of Hinata's pants with one hand and her long dark purple locks with the other, spun around, and ran with the girl to the open metal garbage can from earlier, and flew her right in there head first as the bin immediately fell over and knocked Hinata to her back — her legs and midsection sticking from out the can.
"That's right, bitch!" The kunoichi became riled up as she pulled her sleeves up while vigorously pacing back and forth. "You stay your sorry ass in there, talking all that shit! You wanna come at me with that crazy shit, I'll show you crazy! C'MON!"
Immediately after saying that though, she gasped and placed the tip of her fingers over her mouth. She was surprised from what had just came out from it.
'Oh my gosh, Nia. Watch your damn language,' She scolded herself. 'After all, she's technically being controlled, or brainwashed for that matter right now. The real Hinata... even though she may dislike me because of the relationship I have with her crush, she would never actually try to kill me over something like this. Damn... Fuyuka is good with this stuff. Not that I'm praising her, but just laying down the facts. To be able to taint even the purest of hearts is a sickening yet incredible feat. I guess that goes to show that everyone has at least some sort of speck of darkness resonating in their heart. Knowing Hinata... I'm not surprise her source could be found through something that has to do with Naruto...'
Having finally made her way out of the can and onto her feet, furious, Hinata kicked off the ground and threw some kunai at the kunoichi, only to have Nia once more squat down, grab the garbage lid, and have it protect her before doing a spin and sending the metal lid flying directly at Hinata's stomach as if it were a shurikin.
"Kuh!" The dark-haired girl grunted when Nia then took advantage and jumped onto the lid quickly before it fell and slammed her foot against her enemy's cheek.
With that, Hinata crashed her back against the side of a building before collapsing to the ground on her stomach while Nia swiftly landed to her feet.
"Get up..." She crossed her arms. "A kick like that shouldn't keep you down too long."
Clenching the dirt, Hinata slowly pushed herself to her feet once more and dusted herself off.
"You're mad at me cause you think I stole your one true love away from you, right?" Nia then spoke. "And whose fault is it that they didn't bust a move on him when they had a chance? It sure as hell ain't mine..."
The Hyuga narrowed her eyes. "Ever since you've came to this village, you've done nothing but constantly be an obstacle for me. Always hanging around Naruto and taking his time away from me..."
"What time do you guys even spend together? You don't even talk to each other. You barely know one another. You're lucky he even considers you as a friend cause from what I've been seeing, you guys look nothing more than acquaintances at best."
"I'm not going to be walking behind him anymore and watching as he lets you walk to his side and hold his hand — No, I'm gonna push you all the way to the back and take the spot I rightfully deserve," Hinata declared.
The two girls slowly circled on another, never losing eye contact with the other.
"Oh yeah?" Nia smirked. "I'd like to see you try cause honestly, I don't even need clear eyesight or the byakugan to see through that bullshit."
Having had enough, the Hyuga charged at the kunoichi as Nia did the same. Before the younger girl could land a jab however, Nia dropped low and slid through the open space between Hinata's legs then immediately stopped herself, and attempted to sweep under her opponent's feet as to trip her though Hinata managed to catch onto this and performed a front handspring before the attack could connect thus saving herself.
"Okay," Nia was slightly impressed. "I'll admit, that was smooth. I thought I had you fooled right the- KYA! Oh crap, oh crap!" She found herself next trying to dodge the Hyuga's palms suddenly before she could even get done talking.
Unfortunately for her, she suffered a few blows and was forced skidding backwards on her feet before dropping to her knees and slightly groaning in pain.
'Geez...' She placed a arm over her stomach. 'I need to stop being so distracted... this is the second time now that this has-"
"HAAAH!" The girl looked up to witness her opponent in the air directing her palm toward her with her thumb tucked in.
At the last second, Nia managed to roll out of the way just as Hinata's attack connected to the ground and dirt along with rubble bursted into the air.
'Byakugan!' The Hyuga then activated her technique and searched for her enemy's chakra points being as that she couldn't see the girl among the heavy dirt with her normal vision. Moments later, she found what she was looking for and dashed onward, her mind bent on ending the battle with yet another knockout gentle fist. 'THERE!'
With accuracy, she landed a blow on the girl's chest. Seeing this, she smirked and watched as the kunoichi slowly fell backwards. However, before she could hit the ground, she dispersed into a cloud of smoke as it appeared a log had taken her place.
"What?!" Hinata's eyes widened upon the realization of what just happened. "A substitution?!"
"RIGHT HERE!" She then looked over her shoulder and gasped when Nia was the one to soar in the air this time seemingly performing a few hand signs.
"Water Style: Raging Waves!" The girl shot a jet stream of water from her mouth at her opponent and washed Hinata away a good ways away before carefully landing on her feet and instantly setting up for another jutsu.
This time, she spewed a whip made of water.
'Okay Nia, focus...' She tugged the handle with both hands, closed her eyes, and began to insert her chakra into the weapon in an effort to mold it into something more sturdier and useful. 'Focus, focus... you've been working on shaping this for the longest... c'mon...'
Taking her left hand, she reached into the weapon and began to pull as it appeared it was splitting in half. As it did, the whip soon started to formalize into that of a blade as more chakra was concentrated into giving it that shape.
Some yards away, Hinata staggered upright, extremely displeased with having been fooled moments earlier. Without warning, she drew out a few kunai, turned sideways, and flung them all at her rival in love.
"Dammit!" The Umino was forced to hop away though was a bit too late as one of the blades slashed her arm.
Even so, she kept her focal point at her technique and continued to shape and put more power into it.
C'mon, c'mon! How long is this thing going to take to make?!
"Kya!" The kunoichi then shrieked upon seeing Hinata run across the side of a building with yet another kunai in hand and instinctively bent her back as low as she could when the Hyuga kicked off where she was and nearly decapitated her but instead was only able to brush pass the tip of her nose.
"YOU CRAZY BITCH! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU!" Nia became infuriated as she stood back upright. "YOU ALMOST CUT MY HEAD OFF!"
She received no answer as she was only met with a glare.
Narrowing her eyes, the girl continued to finish what she was doing beforehand.
This whole time... this whole time I should've known she hadn't given up on Naruto. She's had a crush on him her whole life after all... It must feel strange and impossible getting over someone you've liked that long. It kinda... reminds me of how Naruto liked Sakura for the longest time. Understandably, I could see why it took him a long while to get over her once he understood what my feelings were, but the thing is with that... he wasn't obsessed with her like how Hinata is with him so it was easier for him, I guess.
"For so long... I've longed for him," Hinata broke the ice between them and pressed her hands against her heart. "I've longed for Naruto to acknowledge me... to embrace me... to have me be at his side. For so long I've only ever thought about him and what I can do to be with him. Day in and day out since childhood, I dreamed of gathering the courage to speak to him someday — to just get closer to him."
Nia lowered her eyes as the kunoichi continued.
"Everyday, I'd watch him grow more and more by the day. I'd watch him be more self-confident, make more friends, strive hard to earn the respect of those around him... I watched it all, then... you happened."
"Listen... Hinata. You know... I understand how you feel. I understand what it's like to admire someone from afar, yet be too damn shy to speak a word to them. I know that feeling of having that person you like getting near you and you just go red in the face, not know what to do, start shaking, have your heart feel like it could burst, and possibly feel sick to your stomach or even the need to pass out - I totally and truly empathize with you. Being painfully shy is one of the worst personality traits a person could have. It really steals opportunities from you."
Hinata shook her head.
"No — I don't have to listen to this. I've only ever loved Naruto and you stole him from me. You stole my chance at being with him."
"Hinata..." The kunoichi felt sympathetic toward her. "I'm just... gonna be brutally honest with you. Naruto... he barely even notices you. He doesn't put any time or effort into building any sort of relationship with you, he's still completely oblivious to the way you feel toward him even though everyone else knows you desire him, he never talks about you, never shows any sign of liking you more than just a friend, and generally... just isn't interested in you..."
Tears risen in the Hyuga's eyes.
"Then why?" She whimpered. "Why is it that he noticed you...?"
"He didn't... for a long time at least. He wasn't attracted to me, understandably didn't like my attitude, and constantly rejected me with his actions as opposed to words. I... had no chance with him... and honestly, everything that occurred during the process of him beginning to take an interest in me was just a miracle to be honest with you. I was the girl everyone found hideous, the girl everyone hated, the girl everyone gossiped about, the girl who was thought of to be worthless or an embarrassment to be seen with, the girl everyone shunned and ostracized, and the girl who absolutely didn't belong anywhere... I... was just a complete loser."
Using this chance to keep stalling, though being sincere with what she had to say, the girl then added, "If... you want a clear cut answer. I'm... not the person you should be asking. After all, I'm still over here considering my feelings being returned as a miracle. Naruto is a much better talker anyway so that's a question for him."
It was quiet for a few moments before Nia decided to speak again.
"What... I told you back then when that whole crazy blood transfusion thing was happening... I didn't mean to lash out on you the way I did. I said some nasty and hurtful things, but you gotta understand... we were in a extremely stressful situation. I was trying to keep my cool the whole time until you said you... were in love with him. Suddenly... I just felt this rage — this jealousy. I felt threatened and when you stack that onto the fact that we were watching someone dear to us life just slipping away by the second, I completely snapped."
"..." The Hyuga had no words.
"I just want you to know that I don't hate you. I have been trying to put aside our differences because at the end of the day, you're still Naruto's friend and you're not a bad person. Besides Hinata... you're beautiful. There has to be a swarm of guys who'd love to date you. I'm actually jealous of you. I'm jealous of your beauty, your ability to just have this natural glow about you, and the fact that you've been around to watch Naruto become who he is today. I'm jealous of your unique abilities, I'm jealous of how wealthy you are, and I'm jealous of the fact that you're just all around this perfect person that I just can't compete with."
"Why would you be jealous... when you've managed to gain Naruto's love?" The purple-haired girl was in disbelief.
"Yeah... I won him over somehow, but... that doesn't stop me from knowing... that if you were to have told him how you felt, he would've gone for you and left me in the dust. Though... I trust that wouldn't be the case if you were to tell him you like him now, it still irks me to know someone as radiant as you has feelings for the same guy I like. It's hard not to feel threatened, but at the same time, not to be messed up, but he doesn't notice you at all so that's a relief for me. And you don't even talk to him so... I'm not exactly worried about you taking him from me."
Brushing everything off that was said to her in a rude fashion, Hinata replied, "I... still want Naruto. I'm sorry... but your time with him is over, Nia."
"No, you're obsessive, stalkerish, days are over. Why? Because I'm going to put an end to it. Hinata, how're you just gonna walk on over here and tell me to hand him over to you as if you feel you deserve him based off your looks, wealth, prestige, and the amount of time you've liked him alone?! Do you even know his favorite color or what his favorite flavor of ramen? Do you even know when his birthday is?!"
"I'll get to know all that once we're together."
"Maybe in another universe you two end up together, but... in this one... I'm sorry... this isn't your love story... it has and always will be mine so over my dead body will I ever allow you to steal him from me. I'd be damned if I put my entire heart and soul into this whole relationship only for someone to come in and tear everything I strived so damn hard to earn and achieve apart, crumble it to my feet and blow it into the wind... Ugh, just thinking about it makes me sick to my stomach. I'll NEVER let you get noticed by him. EVER!"
"I will... be with Naruto. I won't... lose to you."
Hearing this, Nia gritted her teeth.
"ARGH! GIVE IT UP ALREADY!" She completely snapped. "I'M THE ONE THAT HAS A STRONGER CONNECTION WITH HIM! YOU LOST YOUR CHANCE THE MOMENT HE AGREED TO BE MY BOYFRIEND! I'M THE ONE HE WANTS TO BE WITH! I TRIED TO BE SYMPATHETIC WITH YOU BUT NOW YOU CAN GO CRY A RIVER AND KICK SOME ROCKS FOR ALL I CARE! I'M NOT GIVING HIM UP TO YOUUU!"
"NARUTO SHOULD BE WITH ME!" Hinata unexpectedly raised her voice and was defensive.
"THAT'S TOO BAD! I'M HIS GIRLFRIEND NOW!"
"YOU WON'T BE ONCE I TELL HIM HOW I FEEL! I LOVE NARUTO!"
"NO, I LOVE HIM!" Nia retaliated.
"NO, I DO!"
"I DO!"
"I DO!"
"I DO!"
"UGHHH!" Nia was getting unbearably frustrated. "OH FOR GOODNESS SAKE! HE AND I JUST HAD SEX LIKE AN HOUR AGO! HE ASKED ME TO MOVE IN WITH HIM! IN OUR CASE: EFFORT HAS BEATEN BEAUTY!"
"RRRRGGHHHHH!" The two then gave an icy cold glare at one another as electricity seemingly connected the intensity of the stares together.
Then, at once, the two pulled on the other's hair and began yet another session of mercilessly beating each other, Nia losing concentration on the jutsu she was preparing as she was too focused on defending herself. That soon resulted in Hinata breaking through her defense when she saw an opening and collided her palm at the center of Nia's chest before hitting both sides of the girl's face then, similar to what Nia had done to her before, gripped the back of her leggings and threw her to a stack of garbage cans — knocking them all over while her opponent just coughed out blood.
Over and over, the Hyuga could still hear Fuyuka's voice ringing in her head — Demanding her to finish things off, persuading her why she needed to beat Nia half to death so she'd be easier to take to the Hidden Rain, and exposing all that she knew regarding to the girl's relationship with her crush in the hopes of further igniting a burning hatred within Hinata's heart.
All this took a toll on the kunoichi's heart as she remembered the times she had to watch the one she loved pay attention to someone else. All the times she watched on a night's rest out during a mission when the couple would snuggle right in front her before going to sleep together. She pained over the times she heard the two joking around with one another, holding hands while walking in the streets of Konoha or just about anywhere else. It killed her to see the blonde being kind to the girl no one felt deserved him nor was pretty enough for him.
She had thought the two would break up fairly soon, but that "soon" never came to be. The two knew how to resolve an argument or disagreement. They knew how to settle their differences. As time went on and her envy grew, she hoped Naruto would see what apparently everyone else saw in her love rival — A hideous girl who was underserving of being happy and loved. However... that didn't came to be either. All her crush did was defend Nia when anyone would insult her behind her back and would come to her aid if anyone had the nerve to say something hurtful to her face.
It didn't make sense to her. Though she felt bad these feelings has grown inside her at the time, there was always a lingering question she needed to be answered.
Why?
Why did he like her? Why didn't he notice herself instead? Why did Naruto give Nia a chance? It wasn't right! It was madness... Why was it that someone like that girl could possibly earn the heart of her crush? She wasn't anything special. She wasn't the kind of girl who could help achieve the type of acknowledgement he wanted from the villagers. No, she was nothing more than disgusting, just outright repugnant!
She remembered the times Kiba had told her Naruto needed a woman like herself. Someone who was beautiful that'll earn him the praise of those around him. These words comforted her and gave her hope. It made her feel that the blonde would one day snap to his senses and realize he was with a beast and finally do the right thing and get with the beauty that was herself. However, days and weeks became months of him refusing to break things off with Nia.
In fact, the relationship between them only grew stronger and more passionate. Though she tried not to, there were times the girl had sunken into a depressing state. She was hopelessly infatuated with the genin, but all he seemed to do was give his love to the girl who wasn't even pretty at the very least.
Thinking of this, a tear slid down the girl's face as she drew out yet another kunai.
"No more..." Her voice was filled with much bitterness and resentment. "No more will I allow you to keep living the life I dreamt of since childhood!"
And while Nia was still trying to recover, the brainwashed Hinata began repeatedly stabbing at the girl's arm and wherever she could reach as blood spurted out with each wound she'd make. In an effort to save herself, Nia shot her leg up in a powerful motion and directly made a low blow to her opponent's private area, causing the Hyuga to at least be caught off guard while the kunoichi snatched the blade from her, and in a fit of rage, slit the girl's side with it before staggering to her feet and simply jump up and ram her knee to her enemy's jaw.
The force of it sent Hinata flying before she smacked violently to the ground, rolling many yards away forcibly until finally her momentum came to a close and she laid seemingly unconscious on her stomach with her eyes closed. Beaten severely like Nia, the girl suffered from many bruises, gashes, and maybe even a fractured jaw from the impact of her enemy's knee.
Meanwhile, having just been stabbed several times, though she was whimpering and moaning in agony, Nia rose unsteadily to her feet as her blood dripped from the open flesh of her numerous injuries. Though she might've ended up knocking out her opponent, in the end, it was she who had received the most blows and damage overall. Tearing up as the stress stacked on her, she struggled to stay completely upright.
She was in dire need of medical assistance. She stumbled across the catwalk with indescribable pain flowing through her. Her breathing was shallow and the longer she remain unattended, the more she began to show signs of tunneled vision.
"LIGHTNING BLADE!" Her attention went to the sky as she witnessed Kakashi kicking off the roof of the building next to her and aimed his hand surrounded with lightning at Fuyuka, who seemed to be floating in midair from her line of sight though in reality, she was standing atop a very tall webbing structure she had created earlier.
In the nick of time, the woman managed to side step the jonin's jutsu though he did manage to graze through her clothing and leave a slight gash on the left side of her waist.
"NARUTO!" The copycat ninja then looked over his shoulder as he passed by the enemy.
"On it, Kakashi-sensei!" Naruto next ran and front flipped off the roof of the building he was standing on with a ball of blue wind chakra in his palm aiming right at Fuyuka. "RASENGAN!"
"Hmph, really?" The cocky white-haired lady merely moved her body to the side like she had done with Kakashi and kneed the blonde in the gut before spinning around and striking him on the cheek with a kick, thus sending him crashing his back against his sensei's stomach and pushing the two flat on their backs in the streets of Konoha.
However, having not paid attention to Jiraiya, the sannin extended his hair and separated it into four parts, each wrapping around the ankles and wrists of Fuyuka's body, rendering her immobile.
"UGH! NO!" She struggled to get herself out of the mess she was in.
How could I have lost focus? Now I've let the buffoons gain the upper hand!
"NARUTO!" Jiraiya then gave the nod as he made sure the enemy was tightly bound. "You're up, Kid! Get on out here and inflict some damage on her!"
"Right!" The genin appeared from out of a dark alley, ran to give him some momentum, then kicked off the ground with yet another blue ball of chakra in hand.
'What?!' Fuyuka's eyes widened as she looked over to see the Naruto she had already taken care of poofed into smoke and was revealed to be that of a clone and a decoy to get her to focus on it while Jiraiya sneakily entangled her in his hair so that the real Naruto would be able to catch her off guard. 'But how?! I don't understand! I can read their minds! How is it that I've been fooled?!'
"Try blocking this a second time!" Naruto extended his arm and aimed his jutsu at the woman's stomach. "RASENGAN!"
"KUAAAAHHH!"
In violent fashion, the jutsu had blew Fuyuka an unbelievable distance away as she soon crashed hard to the ground, feeling an aching pain where she was hit. Just using her elbows alone to sit herself up was a daunting task in on itself. Apart from having taking quite a beating earlier, nothing was quite like being at the opposite end of a power jutsu.
"D-Damn youuuu!" Her breathing was shaky.
Before she could do anything else, a kunai was held right at her throat as she turned her head to observe it was Kakashi who practically had her hostage.
"Don't you dare move a muscle," He warned her and tightened his grip on the handle. "You don't want me to... "accidentally" execute you right here now, would you?"
Meanwhile, back where the two kunoichi were battling it out. Nia hopelessly gazed at Naruto gracefully descending from the sky in awe and admiration as in her fantasy land, a pink background decorated with hearts, orbs, and sparkles surrounded him as his hair perfectly swayed to the rhythm of the wind and his ocean blue eyes made her heart pound.
'Haaaah,' She reddened deeply as she couldn't get her eyes off him. She was so mesmerized, she became oblivious of the worsening state she was in as the seconds passed. 'That's right... it's been so long since I've seen him in action, that... I totally forgot how freaking cool he is in battle. My hero is so amazing... I really am truly lucky to have ended up getting him to notice me. I don't ever wanna lose him to any other girl or just in general... I'm gonna keep being the best girlfriend I can possibly be and make sure I don't screw up my lucky ass chance with him that he's given me!'
Naruto, on the other hand, having now almost landed safely on the streets, turned his head in Nia's direction, only to widen his eyes in horror in what he was now witnessing. Not only had he caught sight of her severely injured body, but there was something more frightening to the whole situation.
"NIA!" There was an overwhelming quake in his tone of voice as he immediately went into his pouch and panicked once realizing his weapons had all been used already and was now empty-handed. He snapped his head back in her direction and cried out with quivering eyes, "HINATA, NO! DON'T DO IT!"
"Hm?" This alarmed the Umino girl as she glanced over her shoulder just as a tremendous pain rippled through her back as the flesh on it was slashed across with the sharpness of a kunai.
Immediately, blood gushed from out of the wound and stained her attacker's weapon and clothing as Nia herself took only two steps forward in agony before losing the strength to keep her herself upright, dropped to her knees, then collapsed completely to the ground, face first as her pouch came loose and her weapons spewed out in front of her.
"NIA!" The genin's eyes completely lost its luster as he immediately ditched his superiors and came sprinting in the girl's direction, screaming her name. "DAMMIT! NIA! NIAAAA!"
"Naruto, wait! Where you going?!" Kakashi was unaware of what had happened as Fuyuka just started to laugh.
"What's so funny?!" He narrowed his eye.
The woman ignored the question as she insanely continued doing what she was.
Immensely hurt, yet still conscious, Nia reached for one of the kunai in front of her with a trembling, bloody hand, only to have it crushed by the foot of the brainwashed Hinata.
"Arghh!" The girl groaned as her hand was being squished.
Still having her own kunai in hand, the Hyuga spun it around before handling it properly and aiming the tip at the girl's head.
"Once I get rid of you... nothing nor anyone will be an obstacle between me and Naruto's love ever again," She declared as she was preparing to do the unthinkable.
"HINATA, NOOOO!" Naruto was still racing to the scene, though not fast enough as he was still quite a bit away. "STOP! PLEASE!"
'Do it, Hinata!' Fuyuka was speaking to the Hyuga again. 'Kill her... forget about kidnapping her. You have the one who stole your beloved at your mercy. She's helpless... defenseless. Stain her blood on that kunai once more and prove who truly deserves to win over the genin's heart...'
"DOOOON'T! HINATAAAAA! The blonde screamed at the top of his lungs with an arm reached out as the Hyuga raised her arm, then with all her might, slammed it downward as everything seemed to have gone pitch black for Nia as if the curtains had closed.
The fight between the two girls... had ended.
