A lady is sitting on the bed watching some pictures and videos on the laptop. Her one hand is resting on her protruding belly. She's five months pregnant. Her eyes are on the laptop and there's a smile on her face. Her trance is broken by her hubby's voice. 

"Ruhana, it's time for your milk." he says as he settles the tray on the bed and sits on his side of the bed. 

She smiles. He's Vineet, her loving and caring husband. It's been two years since their wedding. They have been partners in all thicks and thins. Vineet has always been by her side, and she does the same. They discuss things together and then they take a particular decision. He looks at her. 

"Have your milk first." he says. 

She makes a face. 

"you're more strict than mom." she pouts and he laughs. 

"I knew it. Maa already told me you act like a baby when it comes to drinking milk. And I know you better than you do, you know!" he winks at her. 

"Okay okay! As you say." she says and holds the glass of milk and finishes the milk. 

He smiles. 

"that's like a good girl." he says pecking her cheek. 

"Now you see this." she says while adjusting the laptop so that he can watch the video. 

"Isn't she cute!!" she asks. 

He smiles as he looks into his laptop. It's a little girl, whom they met at the orphanage. There's an orphanage named Aastha Child Home. Vineet is a regular visitor to the place as his mother used to be associated with them. He goes to the orphanage every sunday and play with kids. Even Ruhana was touched when she got to know this side of Vineet's personality. She loves kids and after her wedding with Vineet, they started visiting the orphanage. Sometimes, Ruhana would go alone and Vineet would join her later. The girl is almost a year old, and is familiar with Vineet. She'd chuckle on seeing him and would prefer being in his arms. 

In the video, Ruhana was making the little girl walk. The girl was giggling with every step she was taking. Both of them were engrossed in watching the little girl. Ruhana looks at Vineet.

"Vineet,I am thinking something." She says.

Vineet glances at Ruhana. She smiles at him.

"Let's adopt her. She will get a family and we will get a daughter." She says.

Vineet is left in thoughts. He takes a few seconds to process what Ruhana spoke. She looks at him.

"What ? Why are you thinking so much? We are already expecting a baby. She will be our first born." Ruhana says.

"She's used to us, especially ,you. Vineet, think about it. See, she chuckles everytime she sees you. Let's give her a family." She says.

"you're right. But family?" He asks.

He is fearful that his family may not accept the girl wholeheartedly. Not because she will be an adopted child,but because they are already having a child of their own. He won't like it ,anyway. He knows that Ruhana will love her, even him too. But what about family? They need to convince them.

"Vineet, don't worry. We'll convince Maa and Papa. " Ruhana says.

"but how? When we are already having a child, they won't agree." He reasons his point.

"Vineet, to give food to the poor is a good deed, but if we can give family to an orphan, what's better than that?" She says.

"You're right. But Ruhana, I don't know if mom will agree." He says.

Ruhana smiles at his worry. His mother is already associated with the orphanage. Yet,he is fearful that she might not like the idea. Maybe, because of the society norms. He knows that he has a special place for the baby girl in his heart. He loves her,and so does Ruhana. She wants to shower all her love on the baby girl. These two will be the lights of her life,and Ruhana knows it.

"Don't worry. Tomorrow, we have to go to the orphanage. I've decided to donate some money therein. Mom said that I can give it anywhere I like. Nothing is better than Aastha Child home." She says.

Vineet smiles.

"Yeah! Tomorrow is Sunday . Time to meet Anvi!" He says.

Ruhana smiles.

"see, how excited we are ,even to meet her. If she will be a part of us , life would be quite exciting, hai na!" Ruhana says while resting her head on his shoulders.

"Yeah! We'll talk to Maa." Vineet says as he puts away the laptop and makes her lie on the bed.

Ruhana smiles as he slid in his side of the bed ,and she keeps her head on his hand and they sleep off.

Next morning, they gathered at the dining table. Vineet's mother Gautami seemed to wait for them.

"What's the plan today?" Gautami asks while looking at Ruhana.

"Maa, we'll be going to Aastha Child home. Anvi se Milne. And also, I'll donate some money there." Ruhana smiles.

"Wo bachi bahut shararati ho gayi hai." Gautami says with a smile.

"she's not that naughty!" Vineet says making Gautami and Ruhana giggle.

"Neither innocent she is. Just like you." gautami says.

Vineet looks at her.

"Haha! You're saying as if she's my daughter. But she can be. After all she is my little friend. " Vineet says.

"Haan Han thik hai. Agar tum dono ek sath ho Gaye toh pata nahi hamara kya hoga!" Gautami says jokingly.

"You have to think. Because, Ruhana is by my side,you know." He says while looking at Ruhana.

"That's so mean." Gautami says.

"It's just and fair." vineet says teasingly making the two ladies laugh.

Ruhana smacks his arm.

"Shut up ! Have your breakfast." She says.

"okay sorry. Now be quick . Otherwise we'll be late." He says while having his coffee.

Ruhana nods affirmatively. They leave for the orphanage in a short while. 

Aastha Child Home

Ruhana and Vineet reach the destination. The kids were playing in the garden. Some older kids were sitting in the garden reading books. As they entered the gate, the kids started rushing towards them. They know they'll get some chocolates. RuVi smiled seeing this. They enter in while the owner of the orphanage Asha Sharma  welcomes them. They sit around with kids ,playing with kids. Ruhana looks at Asha.

"Where's Anvi?" She asks.

"main usey lekar aati hoon." She says and moves in. 

Maybe they've taken her to take a bath. Ruhana watches Vineet playing with the kids. A smile forms on her lips. He's the best husband already, he's her friend before being a husband. And she knows, he'll be the best father too. He has a soft place for kids. She knows he will love his own kids like he loves everyone here. He keeps a day for these kids, and they spend ample amount of time with them. A soft voice breaks her reverie. She turns around to see Asha coming out with Anvi.

The little girl chuckles on seeing Ruhana. She spreads her arms towards her.

She smiles and takes her in his arms. The little girl places her  hands on her cheeks. Ruhana smiles and kisses the little girl on her cheeks. She makes her sit on his lap ,and the little girl catches Vineet's glimpse. She makes a certain Voice,maybe her way to take attention. Vineet notices her and he makes his way towards her with other children following him. Anvi chuckles. He lifts her up and sway her in the air. She giggles at his action.

"vineet , she'll get hurt. " Ruhana asks.

"Kuch Nahi hota Anvi ko. Hai na!" Vineet asks as he kisses the girls' cheek. 

The little girl giggles in reply. Ruhana smiles.

"you'll spoil her,Vineet." She says.

"Only fathers can do it, Ruhana." The owner,Asha says.

"yeah, I know." Ruhana agrees.

"then let Vineet do it." Asha says with a smile.

Ruhana nods affirmatively. But then something strikes her.

"What do you mean?" She asks.

Vineet smiles as he heard her surprised tone. He makes Anvi sit in her lap.

"Because she'll be our baby now." He says.

Ruhana is surprised. She just asked him yesternight to adopt Anvi, and he's all set. How?  They haven't talked to Maa yet. She looks at him in surprise.

"You heard it right. You said ,I did." He says.

"but how? How will we convince Maa?" She asks.

"Maa is ready. When I found Anvi, I brought her here. She grew closer to me. And now you. Jab Tumne Kaha toh I thought we can do it." He says.

He tells her that Gautami also asked him to adopt Anvi, but he didn't know what to do. Maybe she knew that the girl is close to her son. Though, Ruhana also asked him several times, but he always denied. But that morning,Gautami told him that if he wants he and Ruhana can adopt Anvi. Ruhana was surprised.

"I was also surprised. But Maa said that she's happy with us. She will also love Anvi like we do. She knows our love for her." He finishes his statement.

Ruhana is touched. She knew that mother's always get to know what goes on in their kid's mind. Gautami knew it. They didn't have to convince her. Ruhana takes Anvi in her embrace kissing her head. She's her daughter now . 

" Just a formality,Mrs. singhaniya, then she'll be all yours. " Asha says producing the adoption papers . 

RuVi signed the papers, and they finished the legal formalities. They can now take their daughter home. The owner got Anvi's things packed and gave the bag to Vineet. Vineet thanks Asha while Ruhana gives her a certain amount for the kids. She assured that they'll give some amount every month. Asha looked happy. There is humanity still left. The other kids asked for a promise that they'll still come to meet them. Vineet promised them that they'll come every weekend and will bring Anvi too with them. The kids chuckle and soonish it's time to leave. Securing Anvi in her arms, Ruhana moves out and Vineet follows her the little girl was asleep on Ruhana's shoulder. She sits in the car ,and Vineet helps her taking Anvi in her lap. He sat on his side and Ruhana glances at her husband.

"thanks Vineet, nothing can be a better gift than this." She says.

He smiles..

"I wanted it as well. Our family is now complete. " He says.

She smiles. Indeed, there is love , a daughter,who means the world to them ,and then there's an unborn baby, who's getting unconditional love. They are indeed happy. A new life has begun for all of them.
