After Will let Nico out of the infirmary,  he didn't see him for a while. He tried looking, but he just couldn't find the son of Hades anywhere, and he didn't have very much time to look. Taking care of sick and crippled demigods is very time-consuming.

"WILL!" Shouted his frustrated half-brother, Carter, who was making the bed of a patient who'd just been released.

"Hm?" Will said, snapping out of his thoughts.

"You're staring off into space again! C'mon, what's bothering you?" Then a sly smirk slid across his face,"Or is it a who?"

He wiggled his eyebrows suggestively and a smile tugged at the corners of Will's mouth.

"IT IS!" Carter whooped loudly. "Who is it?"

Will scratched the back of his neck awkwardly, "Well. . . I uhm... I can't tell you. . ."

"What?! You can trust me! I won't tell, I swear it on the River Styx!"

Thunder rumbled outside. And Will looked at him, on the verge of spilling his guts.

But what if he thinks I'm a freak? What if he hates me?

"Come on, who's the lucky girl?" He plopped down on the bed.

"It's not a girl." Will mumbled.

"What? I can't hear you, speak up, dude!"

Will sighed, "I'm. . . gay."

Carter's jaw nearly hit the ground, "Wait so. . ."

"Yeah. . ."

"Oh. . ."

Crap. He thinks I'm digusting. His throat felt like it was constricting, "I shouldn't have said anything. . . I'm sorry." Will said, starting to stand up.

Carter pulled him back down, "No! That's not what I meant, I was just shocked. So, who is it?"

Will gawked at him, "You mean, you don't care?"

Carter shrugged, "You can like whoever you want to, bro."

Will grinned at him and blushed slightly, "It's Nico. . ."

"No way!"

"Why not?" Will asked defensively.

Carter shrugged, "I don't know. . . He's just so. . . Gloomy."

"Not really. . ." Will said with a slightly wistful expression.

"Oh, man." Carter grinned.

"What?"

"You have it bad."

Will scowled at him.

"Wait! So, is Nico. . ."

"Gay?"

Carter nodded.

"Well, I would certainly hope so." Will said with a cocky smile.

Carter fell back onto the bed laughing, "Oh my godddssss."

Will laughed at him, "We only kissed."

"Oh. . . Well that's disappointing. . ." Carter said, staring at the ceiling.

Will looked very confused to say the least.

"Never mind, but where's Nico?"

Will sighed, "I don't know, I think he's avoiding me." He confessed.

Carter sat up, "Hey, don't say that! I'm sure that's not what it is. And if he is avoiding you it's probably only because he's embarrassed. . . or nervous." Suddenly a mischievous glint came to his eye, "Hey, you should take him on a walk through the woods! Talk to him, you know?"

The corners of Will's lips turned upwards, "Thanks, man, I will."

"Any time." Carter said, giving him a fist bump, "Go get some man candy."

Will laughed, "Shut your face, Macky."

Just before dinner, Will walked to the  Hades cabin and knocked for what was probably the fiftieth time that day.

He waited, no one answered.

Will leaned his head against the door, "Hey, Neeks. . . If you're in there, I really want to talk to you. . ."

He waited. Nothing. "Okay. . . I'll see you later, Death Boy." He tried not to sound dejected, stepped back, and started to walk down the steps.

"Don't call me Death Boy."

Will turned around to see the son of Hades standing in the door, smiling shyly.

Will beamed at him, "What took you so long?"

Nico shrugged and tugged on his long-sleeved black shirt nervously.

"You okay?"

Nico nodded in response.

"Come here." Will told him, his lips bent in a simper, "I want to talk to you."

He came down the steps cautiously. Will  at smiled him and turned around. "Let's walk."

Nico kept a 'safe' distance of three inches between them, which Will thought was adorable. They kept walking in silence as they entered the woods.

"What do you want to talk about?" Nico asked as they walked through the trees.

"Well. . ." Will said, looking over at him. "I wanted-"

He was cut off by the sound of a guitar being strummed.

Will turned around to Carter playing and singing behind them. He didn't know what his half-brother was up to, but Will decided to go with it, and inched closer to the shorter boy. Gradually other Apollo campers started coming out of the trees around them and adding on.

Nico looked like he wanted to melt into the ground, or run away-- which he couldn't do since the Apollo kids were now surrounding them.

They started pressing in on them, forcing Nico to move towards Will.

Nico was as red as a firetruck. He looked up at Will in alarm, "Did you plan this?"

Will shook his head frantically, "No, I promise, I didn't!"

The Apollo cabin started herding them forward. A girl with light brown hair winked at him as she strummed her guitar.

They broke into a clearing and Will gasped. There were lanterns strung from tree to tree, a grand piano sat off to the stage where a girl had started playing, a beautifully set table sat in the middle of the clearing.

As they strummed the last note Will turned to face Carter, "You said you wouldn't tell anyone!" He exclaimed.

Carter grinned, "I didn't say the person listening outside couldn't say anything."

Will shook his head in disbelief, "And you just threw all of this together between then and now? How did you know that Nico wouldn't have opened the door before now?"

"Well, yeah, there was a lot of risk involved, but it worked, didn't it? Now, stop worrying and enjoy your date!"

"D-date?" Nico stammered.

A few girls ushered them over to the table and pulled out their seats. They sat down, Nico looked around disbelievingly as food was brought out and placed before them. He blinked down at his plate.

"Neeks. . . I think we're supposed to eat it." Will told him, amusement sparkling in his eyes.

Nico blushed, and picked up his fork, stabbing a grilled potato. "I've never been on a date before. . ." He admitted.

"Really?"

He shook his head and Will grinned, "Well then, I hope you like this one."

"It's amazing."

Will nodded, "It is."

The girl at the piano started playing Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol.

Will got up from his seat and offered his hand to Nico, "May I have this dance?"

"I-I don't know how. . ."

"Me neither." Will said, grinning.

Nico laughed and took Will's hand and he led Nico away from the table.

He took Nico's hand and placed his other hand on his shoulder and put his own hand on Nico's hip.

"Now what?" Nico asked, his voice full of amusement.

Will shrugged, and started leading Nico in slow circles, "I'm about 80% sure we're doing this right."

Nico laughed and Will drew him in closer. The dark-haired boy buried his face in Will's shoulder and he softly sang the lyrics into his ear as they danced.

"Yes." Nico whispered, he had to stand on tip-toe to reach Will's lips.
