×SEVEN×
When Hiccup had gotten Toothless to even out, you took the chance to look at your surroundings. The view was breathtaking. White fluffy clouds were below you, the light blue sky above. You moved closer to Hiccup, holding into his torso tightly as you looked around in awe. Hiccup smiled to himself and patted Toothless' neck. "Alright bud, you know what to do."
"I sure do." You heard him say, as he followed his rider's instructions, slowly falling through the clouds. The wispy white fluff passed over your skin, tickling you as you flew through. You giggled and looked as Berk itself came into view. The view was amazing. After a few minutes of admiring your new home, Hiccup flew down and named each place as you a passed by.
You zoned out after a couple of names, instead focusing on a building he had yet to name. After passing his home and the Great Hall, Hiccup landed in front of the last site. The one you kept looking at. "And this is the forge. We mainly use it for dragon equipment like saddles and replacement teeth. But I like to make my own things too." Briefly nodding, you dismounted Toothless and walked toward the forge, opening the door. Hiccup hurriedly dismounted too, trying to catch up to you as you entered.
Inside, metals and leathers were strewn about, left in messy piles. Only the sorter would find an order with these piles. You made your way over to an anvil that stood in the corner and noticed a curtain by the wall. Hiccup watched as you curiously pulled back the curtain leading to his little hideaway room. "This is where I make all my stuff." You jumped in surprise but continued looking around. There were sketches of various tail fins designed for Toothless, and other contraptions too.
One caught your eye. A diagram that showed a man with a set of armour. Looking into the notes and other accompanying designs showed flaps between the arms and legs, and a back fin. "A flying suit?" You asked, looking up at Hiccup and gesturing to the designs. "Yeah. Flying on a dragon is great and all, but I'd like to fly on my own. In truth, I'd probably be falling with style, rather than flying." You nodded and examined the notes again briefly, before moving away from his workstation.
"I'll definitely have to come back here. I have a few ideas of things I'd like to make, too." Hiccup smiled, but quickly his eyes widened. "Son of Odin, we need to go to the academy!" He laced his hand with yours and started dragging you out of the forge. "Astrid's going to kill me if I forget." You bit back a smile and shook your head, letting him mount his dragon before following suit and seating yourself behind him.
You both took off towards the academy, recognising it as one of the places you had been shown on your mini tour. Toothless dove down, landing and giving his head a shake. After getting off Toothless you heard him croon as he went to go hang with the rest of the dragons. Not noticing the others in the academy, you followed Toothless and caught onto their conversation. "Guys, you've got to believe me! She can understand me! If she can understand me then she can understand you!" And that's when you were swarmed by Toothless and four other dragons. "Gah!"
You tried to get yourself away from the dragons as their excited attempts to get your attention left you to be smothered. "Can she really understand us?" A blue dragon asked. You pushed away from the circle of dragons and held your hand out in front of you. "Yes," you paused, gasping for air, "Yes I can understand you." Again, the dragons swarmed you, this time they tackled you, all bubbling with excitement. You squealed in surprise. It was then that the dragon riders realised maybe they should get their dragons away.
"Sorry about that," You looked up to see Astrid pulling away the blue dragon. You assumed she was hers if she went to control her. "Stormfly here can get a little too excited." You laughed with what little air you had, and leaned against Toothless. "Five hyperactive dragons," you huffed, "oh god I don't think I can deal with all of Berk's dragons chasing me around." Toothless crooned and nudged your hand. "Sorry..." You petted his snout. "Oh, it's okay Tooth."
The rest of the dragon riders calmed their dragons, and all eyes landed on you. "Um, hi." You said sheepishly, casting a glance at Hiccup pleading with your eyes for help. He shrugged aimlessly and you threw your head back. Ugh. He laughed and walked over to you. "Gang, this is (name). She'll be living here on Berk for as long as she'd like." He turned to you with a small half smile.
One of the three other men in the academy shoved his way to the front of the group and stood directly in front of you. "Hey there." He said, grasping your chin between his thumb and forefinger. "The name's Snotlout, but you can call me 'babe'." He winked at you and gave a devilish smirk. You narrowed your eyes and jerked your chin away from him, before slapping him across the face. The sound echoed and everyone just stared. Snotlout had fallen to the ground from the force and was grumpily rubbing his reddening cheek. "Anyone else?" You challenged before you busted out laughing. Everyone else but Snotlout joined in.
"I'm Fishlegs." One of the other two men said after he'd calmed from laughing. "It's nice to meet you." Astrid wiped a tear from her eye. "I could get used to this, (name)." She smiled. "I'm Astrid, but maybe you knew that already?" You nodded. "I'm Ruffnut, this idiot next to me is my brother Tuffnut." One of the twins said, gesturing to the last male in the group. "Yea—Hey!" You chuckled as they began swatting at each other. "I think I love you guys already."
Hiccup smiled. Things were getting along great between you and his friends. He just hoped things would go nicely the rest of the way.
