×ONE×
It was late. You knew this, but you had just begun watching the second How To Train Your Dragon movie, and you were more than willing to stay up longer to watch it. Though, curiosity nagging at you, you paused the streamed film and checked the time; 2:57 am. Ooh. You thought spookily in your head. It's soon to be the witching hour. You laughed, shook your head and unpaused the film.
Ten minutes into the movie, however, you had fallen asleep.
And when you woke up it was one of the most unpleasant experiences. You shot up, spluttering out cold, salty water. Your body felt frozen and stiff like you had been floating in the in the ocean for hours. You looked around, horrified to see you were no longer curled up in your bed, your laptop sitting on your lap watching shows on Netflix. Instead, you were on a sandy shore, completely lost.
How did I get here? You wondered, looking around. You sat ashore, legs pulled close to your chest and eyes scanning the bay. A large, booming caterwauling cry sounded behind you, causing you to jump in the air and whip around. You couldn't see it clearly, but a very sleek, black form darted away, leaving you to see only a blur.
Having no clue as to what you should do, you got up and scrambled after it, trying to catch up to this...thing. You stumbled as the terrain changed from sand to turf and grass, and landed on your palms and knees. Sitting up and wincing as you brushed your hands down your sweater, you glanced at your hands to noticed the fall had grazed them. Great. You huffed. You looked up. Whatever you had chased, was long gone. Somehow, it reminded you of something, but you couldn't quite place it.
Deciding that kneeling on the grass was getting you nowhere and that it'd be better to find someone around who could tell you where you are, you got up off the ground and walked. You didn't know where to, exactly. You just walked. You weren't sure how long you walked for, but your legs began hurting, feet aching as you realised you had no shoes on.
Soon enough though, you found a cave. It had a dim light source from within, and there was nothing but trees around you. Shrugging off your worries, you entered the cave. The floor was ice cold and super smooth. You could just make out your surroundings. A few jagged pieces here and there. But then, a smooth, oval-like object caught your eye. You cautiously walk over and inspect. It, accompanied by others, was a smooth egg-like stone. They littered the floor.
You gently picked one up and gave it a once-over. You couldn't make out any colours or patterns, just the outline of the stone and the smoothness of it. You, however, soon felt a hot blast of air hit your back. You turned and saw only glowing eyes, quickly put the stone down, and made slow movements back towards the mouth of the cave. A shrieking roar resounded in the cave and you screamed, fleeing the cave. As you ran out of the darkness, a large dragon burst out of the cave. A dragon?!
Oh man, you were so screwed.
You kept screaming, running for your life. You tripped and braced for impact, but instead, your stomach dropped at the feeling of your body being lifted up. Whatever grabbed you had whizzed away from that angry dragon. You, however, weren't happy about this and squirmed around, trying to pry whatever had gripped your arm off you. It wasn't until you looked down and saw how high up you were that you stopped and clung to your captor. As the thing slowed, you felt a hand grasp around your upper arm and hoist you up. You squeaked in surprise.
"Hey!" You objected, now staring at the back of someone's head, your arms wrapped around their torso so you wouldn't be flung off. The physique showed that of a male, but you didn't want to assume. Their clothing though was...odd, to say the least. It resembled armour. They just chuckled. You could just see some hair poking out from under whatever helmet they were wearing, brown tufts and what looked to be some braids too. "Sorry about that. Toothless likes to play hero sometimes." They chuckled, and from that voice, you straight away knew this person was a man. He earned a mocking croon from somewhere in front of him. That name...it definitely seemed familiar. All of this did. Even this man.
"Um, where am I?" You asked, hoping that he'd say someplace near (hometown). "You were just on Outcast Island. I'm impressed that you didn't run into any of the outcasts and only into an angry Changewing mother. We're now headed for Berk." Berk. The name struck you, making you feel as if you should know where that was but you just couldn't seem to remember how you knew of it, or its significance. You clutched to him a little tighter. "Okay... That doesn't sound like it's near (hometown)."
"(Hometown)? Never heard of it." Your heart sunk. "So what's your name, stranger?" He asked, trying to avoid the awkward atmosphere that was beginning to brew. "(Name)." You responded quickly.
He turned to face you, took off his mask and looked you in the eyes. "Nice to meet you (name), I'm Hiccup." He smiled, and you felt your heart stop. He did have charm but...this was something else.
Were you supposed to know who he was? It sure felt like it. He looked so familiar, those emerald eyes locking with your (colour) eyes before he turned to face the front again and replaced his helmet. Oh boy.
This was going to be a nightmare, trying to figure out what was going on.
