HELLO ALL!!!

First of all, an announcement: I have applied to have this book have text-to-speech added for your reading convenience!! Hopefully this will aid my readers who struggle to read, or just be helpful for those who cannot focus or do not have the time to sit and read. All is valid.

Secondly; I am returning to this book! It's been on the back burner for so long, mostly because the story is all in my hands now until I can lead things into the third movie. When I initially planned this book, back in 2017, all I had to go off on was my own imagination and small inspirations from other fanfics.

Now, with a end goal to head towards, I should be able to flesh out several chapters until we reach the events of the third film.

Thirdly—I am editing this book. At the time when I started this, using "You did this, you did that." was very popular and prominent in reader inserts. Nowadays, with how my writing style has broadened, I can't write like that anymore. I feel it cuts a lot of corners and prevents me from properly describing things. Edits to note:

- Written in third person, with most focus on the reader but some shifts & potential jump-cuts to other characters (most notably, Hiccup). No use of 'you' outside of dialogue;
- Entirely written in present tense, not including some descriptive sentences to help build the scene or provide context to something that has previously happened. An example would be something written similarly to a recap of events;
- Some minor plot changes. The whole editing process will take me a few days as there are well over thirty chapters, but there will be minor plot changes to adhere to the overall story idea better, fit more into context with how the story will eventually end when we reach the third movie's plotline, and to also fix what I would deem 'cringe' moments.

(Edit, 06/03/2023: This has taken me way longer than a couple to several days. My work life has gotten more hectic, as I went from casual work to part-time to full-time all in about six months, and now work a 9-5 desk job which saps a lot of my time. I genuinely am working on this!! Hopefully you all get to read it very soon.)

No chapters will be taken down, just amended with all the changes published. By the end of getting all these chapters re-written and seamless, there should finally be a new update with a story part that has only ever been seen with two sets of eyes (one set being my own).

(Edit, 06/03/2023: Okay so I'm taking the original chapters down when all thr new chapters are down, and I'm archiving the original story on Google Docs. If anyone wants a copy of the original once the new copy is uploaded, please let me know and I will go about DMing & sending the transcript of the original to you!! I know a lot of people hold this dearly and won't want to see the original gone forever.)

Also shout-out to my beloved Jana, who rekindled my interest back into this fanfic at full throttle. Discovering you read this fanfic before we became friends was so chaotic and unhinged, and I think that sums up our friendship pretty great. Love you <3 /p

Hopefully there are people out there still genuinely interested and invested in this story. I'm looking forward to where this story will go, and I'm hoping you all enjoy the ride. By the time this book finishes and the next is uploaded, I hope to have made some of you cry. Or at least have the angst hit a little hard. No spoilers from me, though. My lips are sealed.

I wanna be sure you're all made aware that I am actively putting in the effort, and whilst that might take a long while, as working a typical office job is draining and time consuming, I have not given up on making this the best reading experience for you all.)
