1 week later🫶🏾.

i was cleared to practice and start training a week ago and i feel amazing. obviously still taking it step by step. i just finished a session with my trainer.

after getting home i hopped in the shower so i could call gabby. after she went back to seattle i've been a little sadder than normal.

when i called she answered on the 2nd ring making me heart jump and my face smile.

"hey love" she said through her french accent.

"hey gorgeous, i miss you" i said propping up my phone.

"i miss you more. like not being able to hold you is killing me" she said.

"me too, i hate long distancing" i mumbled.

"okay let's talk about sum good ik how you get when your sad.. how's training going ?" she asked making me smile.

"good. my body feels amazing still taking it day by day" i smiled.

"that's good baby. im proud of you" she said.

"thank you ma. i really appreciate you for being here for me and with me. ik i was difficult at some times but i really do appreciate you and everything you do for me" i said.

"aww bae yk i gotchu forever. no matter what your going through imma be there" she told me.

"how is basketball going for you ??" i asked.

"good i love it here and i can feel the old me coning back" gabby smiled.

"that's good, your amazing mama! tell chicago catch up bae" i said making her giggle.

"man wys bae ?" she said making me smile. i love confident her. i saw the gc name pop up at the top of my screen.

jackie: how are you and gabby leah ??

kahleah: good! we've gotten so use too long distancing so it's good !

i love catching up with my best friends and honestly it gives me peace just talking to them especially since im so far away from them.

"what you been doing all week ?" gabby asked.

"nothing just training mostly. oh and i did a couple of photoshoots for basketball and stuff" i said and she nodded.

"wby ?" i asked.

"same mostly basketball. jewell and i went to try out this new restaurant and it was a fight and boy let me tell you i was so invested" she said making me laugh.

"messy ahh" i said shaking my head.

"bae you had to see it, it was like i been wanting yo head type fight like the girl wasn't letting up" she explained.

"instigating is crazyyy" i said as we laughed.

"now why would you put that ?" i asked marine over the phone.

"cus she aight" marine replied

"okay thats your opinion and you could've kept that sh** to yoself. she ain't did nun wrong"

"she made you leave france".

"marine i came back to the w because I wanted too. because I felt like it was best for me. because I missed my fans & teammates. this ain't had nun to do with her" i said.

"okay but how could you just leave us gabby ?? we were a team we were sisters" marine said.

and hearing her talk in the past tense really broke my heart cus telling them i was leaving they seemed happy for me.

"and we still are marine. just because i came back to the w don't mean ion care bout yall i just did what was best for me." i said.

"selfish as h*ll. you decided to go back after we lost to them".

"marine, i was there BEFORE we lost to them so shut the h*ll up. why is it so hard for you to be happy for me and support me ?"

"because you betrayed us gabby. you went and played for who we lost too at the olympics"

"you forget im american too ?? this is just as much as my home as france is and i have every right. look im not finna argue with you"

"i'm happy and things are going good for me so it is what it is tbh. call me when you learn how to be happy for me until the don't waste my time" i said hanging up.

afterwards i called kahleah and told her all the details. marine saying i betrayed them is beyond me because im half american too.

and me being born here in american and being from nevada makes it 10x more easier for me to play for america. the only reason i went back to france is because they made me choose.

"but your american too, you were born here" leah said.

"exactly so make it make sense. ian betray nobody" i said.

"well im proud of you! ik how hard it was for you to chose and felt like no one understood you. but you got back up and kept going and now your a beast. amazing person on and off the court" she said making me smile.

"aww thank you baby. i really appreciate it cus it did feel like that" i said.

"ofc.. we got each other. yk i love you" she said.

"i love you more sexy" i said as we smiled.

talking about this to marine is like talking to a tree. she doesn't really comprehend and i can't help her anymore i've tried to help her understand and she slow asf so not my fault.
