A Price To Pay
I look up around me and see the stars twinkling above me. I took a deep breath in and out, sighing, "Boy, the boss wasn't kidding about this area being filled with demons. I'm glad I was able to protect the village over there. But why so many in one place? That doesn't really add up."
"I was wondering how soon you Slayers would catch on." I see a man wearing a black suit top and white pants, along with a white fedora approach me. His eyes were so pink- I knew he had to be a demon.
I clutched my sword and spoke, "Stop terrorizing people, you beast!"
"Why should I? Seeing the look of panic on their faces as their loved ones get turned by me and watching their loved ones attack their families...it makes my blood boil."
"You're...the demon king. The starter of all of this madness and sorrow."
"Correct." His laugh caused chills to course through my body as I was able to sense the evil within him, "My quest to become perfect still continues, and I will not let another Hashira stand in my way. Shall you perish like those before you? Or will you prove to me that you are truly powerful enough to become a demon?"
"I'll kill you before either of those happen!" Before I could even charge at him, an ugly, large arm came towards me, and I was able to barely dodge it.
The Demon King just laughed, "Barely quick enough, but you're still strong."
I looked at him and yelled out, "Celestial Breathing- Fourth Form, Unwavering Light!" My sword glowed, and I saw him shrink out of terror from my blade. He thinks it's sunlight. Well, all stars are like the sun, from what I've been told or read, so he's technically right.
I started to charge at him, grinning. I may take him down in one fell swoop, and this grew when I heard him say, "Another Sun-Breathing User?! I thought I had killed you all!"
No matter how many times I swiped at him, I was too slow to strike him. I couldn't keep this form for long, as my previous battle exhausted me. The Demon King started to laugh as he saw my exhaustion on my face, "See, humans tire easily. But demons? We don't. We're able to heal at the blink of an eye, and we're immortal. Clearly, you have the strength to become a Demon, maybe, my Demon Queen. So, what do you say?"
I shook my head, "Never! Second Form- Pleiades!" I swung my sword at him and saw the whip of light touch his head, and singe his hat. However, he ducked below me and slashed my right leg.
He laughed and spoke, "So you have spoken- death it is." I saw him pick up a piece of flesh and start to eat it. The sun started to rise and I saw his eyes widen. He disappeared into the forest, speaking, "I'll see you in hell, where we will become rulers together."
All I remember is feeling this immense pain in my right leg, and when I looked...all I saw was a pool of my blood...and screaming.
