Raising Hell

The family waited for the couple to return while Blitzo watched them closely. It was clear that all of them were disturbed to learn that the little guy they had been gripping about for years was a genetically altered soldier/assassin who could have killed them all in their sleep a long time ago. Blitzo didn't care about it, except that he was annoyed that Moxxie had been hiding his actual skills for their job. He would make sure Moxxie didn't do that in the future.

Oh, wait. We're closing the office eventually...fuck... Blitzo grumbled. You are getting my coffee order for the next five months, Mox.

Even a part of him wanted to see what he could do with Moxxie in a friendly spar if they went all out. He might have had any fancy science stuff added to him from birth, but Blitzo had been an assassin for over a hundred years. He trained hard to get where he was and had an impressive kill streak with loads of experience.

Well, not anymore, due to his whole mental state.

Blitzo looked over at where Moxxie and Millie were having their private talk, and once again, he couldn't help but envy the little Imp. Here he was, facing his past and trying to move on so he could keep the things he loved close to his heart. Meanwhile, Bltizo was still reluctant to do so regarding his own past.

Maybe I need to finally make the next step, Blitzo thought, regardless of his healing treatment with Rachmiel. But that would mean facing...that day...

The day he lost everything set him on the path to the ruin he was now.

"...I can't believe it," Joe muttered. "We've let a damn terrorist into our house...let one marry our daughter..."

"I always knew there was something about that boy," Lin sighed as she shook her head and rubbed her arms. "I just didn't think it was this. I've known people who lost friends and family to the I.R.A. in the past. I still remember seeing their work on the news. How could they be claiming to be our "freedom fighters" when they have no qualm killing their own kind just because they disagree with them?"

"...Tell me we're not going to let Millie stay married to that...that...freak!" Billie growled as his brothers joined in muttering their desire to see Moxxie as far away from their sister as possible. Sally-May stayed quiet and just focused on the ground instead.

"If you're smart, you'd let them continue to be married," Blitzo said as he got their attention. "Listen, whatever Moxxie was in the past, he's not that anymore. And I'm willing to bet my right ball sack that he and Millie will make up. And you better accept that they love each other because you harm a single hair on his head? You'll have me and everyone back at Stolas's place to deal with."

"You're actually okay letting some terrorist freak in your company?" Joe growled. "Do you know what the I.R.A. has done to us loyal demons?"

"Yeah, trust me. I took a few contracts killing them," Blitzo said with a shrug as he recalled his Pre-I.M.P. days when he worked solo. He wondered if any of those guys he killed in the past were Imps that Moxxie knew? "But we've all done things we're not proud of in our past. Trust me, I'm one of those examples. Maybe he's not the ideal son-in-law you've wanted for your family, but he's the ideal husband for Millie. She means everything to him, and he is to her. Are you really willing to let that be lost just because he happened to have done shitty things in the past? News flash. We're in Hell. We're all guilty of something. But Moxxie? He's been trying to make it right since leaving the I.R.A. That's a person who regrets and wants to repent. And in Hell? Someone like that is rare."

There was a long silence between Blitzo and the family until Millie and Moxxie rushed over to them with alert faces. "Ma! Pa! We got trouble!"

"What kind of trouble?" Lin asked.

"Bikers, Lin. Not the friendly kind. They're armed and heading for here," Moxxie explained.

"Your brother?" Blitzo asked.

"More than likely."

"Damnit, alright. Everyone knows the plan. Let's get in and arm up," Joe said as he motioned his family inside.

"What about him?" Stan asked, pointing to Moxxie.

Sally-May turned to her sister. "So you're still married?"

Millie just grinned, brought Moxxie over, and kissed him. "That answers your question?"

Despite her family sighing in frustration, they had bigger things to worry about. Everyone went inside as they closed the door, and Joe went to a hidden panel before activating a few switches and knobs. Being Wrath, it wasn't outside the realm of possibility of being attacked by practically anything. Wild monsters. Raiders. Rival families. The list went on. So you had to be prepared to deal with whatever threats were coming and suit up your home as if you were expecting Exterminators.

The doors and windows soon shut with metal barriers with big enough holes to poke guns through and shoot. Spikes appeared on the house's walls as barbed wire fences poked out of their hiding spots. Around the farm, landmines and several other traps were activated.

"Alright, Moxxie, or whatever the fuck your name is. We'll deal with your baggage later. Millie says you're good with a sniper rifle, so get up on top and ping some skulls. If any of my family gets hurt, you'll answer me. Married to Millie or not," Joe growled as he looked down at Millie. "Are we clear?"

"Crystal," Moxxie said before his wife grabbed him.

Millie went to the china cabinet and pushed it aside to open a hidden storage case of various weapons for the family to use. She picked up the double-barrel shotgun and loaded it while Moxxie went for the bolt-action sniper rifle before heading upstairs. Lin took a pair of revolvers while Joe went for a pump action shotgun with the words "Thunderhead" on it. Rodney, Billie, Trent, Stan, and Sally-May went for some pistols and machine guns, respectively, before spreading out around the house to get ready for some action.

Blitzo looked at the guns and then at his own hands, which were still shaking. He cursed his weakness, his mental state still not up to helping physically. However, he wasn't going to be useless. Grabbing boxes of ammo, he decided he would keep the family supplied. He also took a few grenades and a crossbow, just in case.

Joe, Lin, Sally-May, and Trent took the first floor, while Rodney, Stan, Millie, and Billie took the second. Moxxie took to the attic to prepare his rifle. The bikers soon arrived and paused not far from the household, where they saw the place locked up and armed.

Boss, who pulled out binoculars, snorted before handing them to one of his bikers. "Looks like they're expecting us."

A gunshot rang in the air as a bullet went right through the binoculars and into the skull of the holder. Boss looked at the corpse before snorting. "Let's test their defenses."

Motioning with his boys forward, a few bikers whooped and charged forward with their weapons ready. As soon as they crossed the line of the farm's outer entrance, explosions burst from under the motorcycles, which sent their bodies flying pieces around the area. The bikers gasped save for the Boss as body parts rained down on them. A spleen landed on his bike's dashboard, which he picked up and tossed aside. Grinning, he said. "So this is gonna be a real fight, huh? Good. Let's encircle them, boys."

The bikers roared and started driving around the house like sharks herding a school of guppies. The family held their fire but never stopped aiming as they waited for the group to do something. Instead, they heckled and shouted at the group while waving their arms around.

"Come on you hicks! Get out and fight like you got dicks!"

"Pussies! Bet you cousin-fuckers can't shoot shit with a gun or in bed!"

"I thought wrathborn farmers were tough! Didn't think of them as cowards!"

"Ugh, I swear I'm gonna skin them and use their remains as pig food," Trent growled as he aimed at them and inched his finger closer to the trigger. However, Blitzo put his hand on them and stopped him .

"Don't. You'll be giving them what they want," Blitzo said as he looked outside with narrow eyes.

"What do you mean?" Trent asked in confusion.

"Yeah, all they're doing is riding around spewing shit at us," Sally-May pointed out with a raised eyebrow.

"That's just it. They want you to react," Blitzo answered. "They're looking for a weakness or a chance to break the defenses. All it takes is one idiot to mess up a plan and suddenly things go fuck in a handbasket."

Just as if the universe decided to say "pretty much" to their faces. A shot rang out from upstairs as a bullet sailed and hit one of the landmines. The explosion also triggered the other landmines, causing a series of explosions around the house. The bikers were thrown back, and some were killed or injured, but far from enough to really lower their large numbers. Bike and body parts were scattered as the atmosphere was covered in smoke and debris.

Things were quiet until a voice from the second floor shouted, "Sorry!"

"Goddamnit, Billie!" Everyone shouted in response.

The Boss gave the signal, and the biker gangs all drove forward with their weapons out as they began to fire at the house. They, in return, responded in force as gunshots echoed across the sky. From above, Moxxie fired round after round with a perfect headshot each time. His focus was on the bikers who looked to be not the toughest but the most influential and had some authority experience. One of the rules he learned in the I.R.A. and fighting it was that lesser grunts were more likely to get confused and scared if their commanding officers were killed. Round after round, he made sure any of the ones who looked high on the hierarchy were crow food, either because of the bling they had on them or the number of scars on their horns, which he figured held some vital meaning.

On the first floor, Joe and Lin worked as a team as they always do. Despite using a pair of revolvers, Lin was a crack shot who could nail a head from fifty yards away with her aim. She magnum round after magnum round at the bastards who threatened her family and invaded her property. Each round part of her silent fury at the assholes who thought they were going to come here and have an easy pickin'. Meanwhile, Joe was right there by her side, ensuring none of them got too close to the front door. His buckshot going off and hitting any unlucky biker in his view.

Sally-May and Trent were in the kitchen, using their metal windows as cover while firing shots. The bikers slammed their metal bats and chains at the windows while taking out potshots here and there. Sadly, one thing that could not be made of metal was the wooden architecture, which was chewed up by a hail of bullets. Sally-May winced when a piece of the ceiling fell next to her, and she dusted her head off. "Damnit, this is gonna take weeks to repair!"

You should have gotten home insurance!" Blitzo said as he tossed Trent a magazine to reload.

"What's insurance?!" Trent asked.

Blitzo winced as a bullet hit the wall and left a hole in the view. "I'll tell you later! You good?!"

"We're good! Go supply the others!" Sally-May said as she took her MP5-X and unleashed the entire clip. "COME GET SOME YOU GREASED-ASS BASTARDS!"

Blitzo nodded and headed up the stairs, ducking a moment when the walls got holes in them thanks to a machine gun from outside. Once he got back up, he made it to the second floor, where he saw Millie arguing with her brothers in her room, shooting at the bikers while everyone was shouting at each other.

"Nice fucking going, Billie! You had to get them all spooked up and start shooting!" Millie shouted and ducked under to avoid a mace of all things thrown into her room.

"Hey! We wouldn't be in this mess if it wasn't for your stupid terrorist husband!" Billie screamed back as he fired a few more rounds before motioning for Blitzo to give him more ammo. After the former assassin tossed some over, Billie shouted, "How can you still love him after everything?!"

"Maybe because he's not a terrorist anymore, dumbass!" Millie argued as she accepted a grenade from Bltizo before pulling the pin and throwing it. After the explosion, she continued, "And he apologized! Like, seriously apologized! He didn't half-ass it either!"

"One apology isn't going to make up for the amount of deaths he's caused in the past, Mills," Stan pointed out from the bathroom.

"Oh, like any of us aren't guilty of murder!" Millie rolled her eyes.

"Hey! When we kill?! It's just either for people who deserve it or try to fucking mess with us! And we have standards! We have limits we don't break! How many children did the fucking I.R.A. kill in the years since they were formed?!"

"First off, you don't know who Moxxie killed and didn't kill!" Millie growled as she went into the hallway to glare at her brother. "Second, I've killed human kids before! Have you ever heard of our commercials and special deals?! Not to mention, there was this one time I had to deal with cannibal kids...Regardless, Moxxie might have done bad things, but that was because he had no choice! His family practically raised him to be an assassin since he was born!"

"More like made," Rodney growled as he poked his head out of his room. "Millie, your husband isn't even an Imp! He might not even be a demon! He's an abomination made from some twisted science or whatnot! You married a monster!"

A second later, a bullet hole was right next to Rodney's face near the wall.

"Call him that again, and I'll aim not just for your face but your balls as well," Millie warned in a cold tone. "Because that so-called monster is my husband and the father of my kid. Are they going to be monsters, too? Are you going to ask me to get rid of them? Moxxie might have fucked up, but at least he was willing to come back and correct it. When have you—any of you—tried to fix your mistakes with him? Because if you want to talk about mistakes? How about the mistake of never ever accepting that Moxxie is the one damn Imp in this world I love, and I'm either gonna die in a hail of bullets with him or in bed with him when we're old. So either accept it or suck it!"

"YOU KIDS STOP FIGHTING AND GET TO SHOOTING!"

"Yes, Pa!" The four of them shouted as they went back to their spots. Blitzo looked around, trying to process what just happened, and shrugged before heading up the ladder to the attic.

Moxie was by the window, letting out the last rounds, until he noticed Blitzo coming up and sighed. "Tell me you got .308 rounds?"

"Three boxes right here," Blitzo said, handing them over.

"Thanks," He said while reloading his rifle before casually shooting another biker in the head.

"How much bullshit are you hearing from down below?" Blitzo asked as he pulled out a grenade and threw it after pulling the pin.

BOOM!

"MY ARM!"

"Enough to know that I'm probably never coming back here for Sinmas," Moxxie chuckled. He shook his head and smiled. "But you know what? I don't care. Millie's all I need, and it sounds like she's not gonna give up on me."

"People who really love someone don't ever give up on them, Mox," Blitzo said with a smirk as he leaned against the wall. "I really hope someday me and Stolas can be like you two."

"I think you got a good chance, sir," Moxxie said with a comforting smile. "And whatever happens, I'll be there to help you out."

"Ah, thanks, Mo-Gah!" Blitzo winced as a bullet nearly grazed him. Popping his head out of the window, he growled, "We're having a moment here! Give us a break!"

Moxxie made sure to grab his boss and drag him in before he got shot a dozen times over.

"I'm getting annoyed by this," Boss growled as he sat on his bike, looking over as his boys were getting killed one by one. "We should have torn this place down minutes ago."

"It's very well protected, Boss," One of his lackeys, nursing a shoulder wound, muttered. "Any time we get close, they just blow us away.

"...Fuck it. Get me the C4," He said as he held out his hand. It was handed to him a minute later, and he revved up his bike. "If you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself around here!"

He drove forward with the explosive in one hand, dodging and weaving through the crossfire until he made it to the front door, where he tossed the explosive. It stuck to the front, and he soon skeeted a turn before ensuring he was far enough not to get caught in the blast. Once he was safe, he pressed the trigger.

The sound of the explosive going off was like music to his ears as he looked over the others. "Get in there and fuck them up!"

His crew cheered and got off their bikes, weapons in hand, and ran inside.

The house rocked as the explosive echoed across the rooms of the house. Blitzo and Moxxie looked at each other for a split second before bolting down from the attic. Millie and her siblings were already down the stairs, and they soon caught up to see that things had gotten up close and personal now. There was a giant hole in the front wall entrance, and bikers were pouring inside. Millie had already gotten her knives out and was carving up as many bikers as she could in a flurry of death. One tried to sneak up behind her, but a shot from Moxxie made sure he didn't touch his wife.

Each of Millie's siblings was doing their part as well. Rodney had one in a headlock that Trent was stabbing over and over again before getting sucker punched, which caused Rodney to help out his brother by bashing his attacker over the head with a chair. Billie used his size to do some impressive wrestling moves on the bikers. He piledriver one before grabbing one by the horns, spun them around like a mace and threw them out the window. Stan was using his size to get behind the bikers and stab them in the back with a knife while sliding under their legs to stab them in the groin or tail hole.

Sally-May was, to Blitzo's surprise, using Aikido of all things on the bikers by grabbing their wrists, snapping them, breaking bones of the limbs, and then throat chopping or snapping necks like a graceful dancer. Blitzo made a mental note to ask Milie where her sister learned to do all that. Meanwhile, Lin was protecting a wounded Joe, whose leg was bleeding with shrapnel in it. She was using a wood carving ax on any of the bastards who came close to her husband, who was using one of his wife's revolvers to fire on the invading crowd.

Moxxie quickly got into the fray by jumping onto the railing, sliding down it, and smashing the gun into the face of a biker while flipping it back into his hands and shooting him at point-blank range with it. He soon got rid of it for a regular pistol and knife while rushing towards his wife, who was dealing with three of them. He shot the legs of one good and stabbed him in the back to use it as a means to jump off and shoot him in the face while landing next to Millie, who blacked the piles of the two goons with her knives, allowing Moxxie to shoot them both, in the face. The two smiled warmly at each other without seeing another one coming up behind them. At least until an arrow went right into the back of his neck courtesy of Blitzo, who gave them a thumbs up as he held up his crossbow.

"Thanks for the save, Blitz, but don't you think you should be calling that overpowered protective boyfriend of yours now?" Millie pointed out.

"Oh, right. Forgot about that," Blitzo said as he pulled out his phone and hit Stolas's name. "Hey, Stolas? Yeah, it's me. Listen, we're in a bit of a pickle. Millie's farm is being attacked by some bikers, so do you think you can come over and-"

A dark portal opened up a second later, and everyone stopped fighting upon seeing it. Stolas, eyes glowing, marched forward with his cape flowing in the wind as he gazed upon all the bikers who tried to harm his lover and his employees with a look that made a few piss their pants. Without saying anything, his eyes widened, and a powerful, intense stare from all four eyes was sent as magic flew from his gaze and into the eyes of the stunned attacking Imps. They all soon turned to stone in less than a second. Every single one of them, even the one just entering the room, was a statue.

Snorting, Stolas snapped his fingers, and they all crumbled to dust. Blitzo snorted as he leaned down on the railing and smirked at his lover. "Show off."

"Please, I could do better if I wanted," Stolas smirked back.

Sally-May looked out the window and saw the few remaining bikers driving off hastily. "Looks like they're running away with their tails between their legs."

"You okay, Joe?" Lin asked her husband, helping him up.

"Yeah, I'm fine," He grumbled as everyone gathered in the living room. Moxxie was about to say something when Joe glared at him. "Get out."

"Excuse me?" Moxxie asked with a surprise.

"I said, get out. Get out of my house, off my property. And don't come back. I don't want you here. I don't want you bringing more trouble here. And I certainly don't want you anywhere near my daughter. Millie, get away from him and-"

"No."

Her family turned to her as she approached Moxxie and held his hand. "I'm not leaving Moxxie, Pa. He's my husband."

"He brought this mess towards me!" Joe screamed. "Look at our farm! Our house! You almost died because of him and his damn brother! I will not have my family dragged into I.R.A. shit! Never in a million years!"

"Millie, your father is right," Lin said as she looked at her daughter firmly. Millie, I know you love him, but he's not one of us. He's not even an Imp. He's... he's..."

"He's a damn abomination and a terrorist," Trent said, which got the approval of his brothers. Only Salley-May said nothing as she stood in the back, biting her lip.

"I'm not leaving him!" Millie cried out. "We're going to be a family. You can't just-"

"I will not have my daughter married to some science freak while having his freak baby!" Joe screamed

POW!

"Joe!" Lin cried as Moxxie's fist knocked her husband back. His kids went to make a move, but Stolas got in front of them and glared. Gulping, they backed off.

"...Talk that way about my kid again, and I'll make sure I do worse," Moxxie replied coldly.

Joe snarled as he spat out a tooth and looked at his daughter. "Millie, I'm done. You have to decide now! It's us or him!"

Millie looked at her father in shock, then at her mother. She looked at each of her siblings before closing her eyes as a tear dripped down her cheek. Gritting her teeth and clutching her hands, she turned away and did her best to keep her emotions down.

"...Stolas...get us out of here..." Millie whispered. "I want...I want to go home."

Millie's family felt their eyes widen, and Moxxie looked just as surprised. He quickly put a hand on his wife's shoulder as she sniffed. Stolas stared at her before nodding and opening the portal again, the sight of his palace beyond it. With one last hurtful look over her shoulder, Millie and Moxxie walked through the portal together followed by Blitzo who flipped off the family.

Stolas was about to follow before he paused and looked at them. "I was under the impression that Wrathborn Imps valued family above all. Clearly, I was wrong."

With that said, he left through his portal, leaving a broken family behind in the silence of their ruined home.
