The sun warms my skin as your gaze does.

My winter numb bones are stiff, they're hostile, sleepy. I can feel golden sun rays awakening me, putting youth and love back into my dull hair and sullen cheeks- I ache as I cling to the warmth for life / when winter comes I'll be clinging to you / with my naked chest against the bare sand and my spineless back blotched with faded freckles from past summers I feel your gaze for the first time. It's scalding hot, judgemental. Thoughts of turning onto my back seep into my mind the way sand slips from a hand but you're not alone, and despite my confidence, I don't want your best friend and a man twice my age to see me- not the way you will. You've got this look on your face / you know exactly what lies in front of you / it's temptation / but with a board almost taller than you tucked under your arm I can't tell if it's the ocean or I that is the temptress.
