Chapter 3

Note: From this chapter onwards I am the one writing. I hope you enjoy my rendition of Headline and the way I take this story. For those wanting to see more of my work read Invisible Girl. If you want to see more of Alyce's work, definitely check out Rebound or Birds of A Feather FarFromSuga

I recommend these two the most since they show off some of her writing with single members, that or her Imagines book. All of her work is great but these two have more of that mystery idol vube plus they are completed works.

It had taken Hyerim about 10 second to realize what she had gotten into.

The lights surrounding her and the smell of a thousand or so different body sprays, perfumes, and laundry detergents overwhelmed her nose. Some girls wore merchandise with their favorite member on it, others looked like they could be back up dancers for the concert, and a few seemed to be either at a club or looking to charm one of the members right off the stage.

It was a bonafide fiesta, Hyerim feeling like the odd one out. She wore jeans, a simple tee, and her freshly dyed hair from the day before tied up in a messy bun above her head.

Her makeup was what she threw on regularly, and her own experience of concerts before would have not prepared her for the experience she would have that day.

It was like magic, sparks and lights changing so rapidly it seemed to make time slow down.

It was odd to see them in such an atmosphere. It was like the chants and cheers energized their movements. Like a stream of light that sent them some sort of power. They were focused one second and a laughing bunch the next.

"Hello everyone we are, BTS!!!" their leader, Namjoon yelled, the crowd of fan girls and boys screamed in reply.

By now Hyerim had blocked out everything, the voices, the music, the screams and chants, it was all muffled by the awaiting gaze of one of the members.

Just as promised, there he stood, looking at her as if trying to figure her out like a puzzle.

Her heart seemed to be headed right for her throat, her lungs filling desperately with air.

Kim Seokjin, his radiance making her heart skip a beat, it was as if she was a fisherman at see, Seokjin luring her like a siren would to it's prey.

She understood, for a split second she understood the fan's feelings. Like an empty glass being filled, as if someone was grasping her heart soo tightly that it made her hold her breath back.

His eyes were daggers to her soul.

At first she was unsure, maybe she had seen it wrong.

I mean, he had promised, something so absurd to her.

A kiss.

He blew a kiss in her direction.

To any unsuspecting fan it would be a mere coincidence. To her? It was a challenge.

"What is it of you Seokjin? What do you hide behind that perfect image of yours?" She wondered to herself.

"Now give it up for our next song guys!!! SEOUL MAKE SOME NOISE!!!" one of the younger members yelled out, Hyerim too focused on the flirty man infront of her to know who it had been.

He kept glancing at her, smiling here and there.

His large shoulders, his framed figure and oblong face.

His plup lips seemed to glisten in the stage light.

"What is your secret Kim Seokjin?"

◇◆◇

"Waaaa that was such a good show," one of the members gasped, entering the backstage room.

Hyerim had already made her way there earlier, leaving the concert abruptly to try and make it before the boys did.

She sat one of the small couches in the backroom, fidgeting with the water bottle Sejin had given her. He'd been there only a moment to explain the time of the flight, how things would work out for her, and the things she needed to carry.

She wouldn't have much alone time with the members, given that they'd be accompanied by a full crew. However, she'd have moments to interview them, a couple days where her sole job was to study them and make sure to portray them a certain way to the media.

She sighed.

It was just more work added on to her already difficult role.

A double agent of sorts.

"What a wrap up, that's for sure," Taehyung smirked, grabbing a water bottle off the table in front of Hyerim before taking a seat on the couch in front of her.

"So tell us little lady, what did you think?" he asked in a playful tone, leaning forward to catch her eyes.

He seemed to be trying to tease her, Hyerim reading him easier than any of the other members.

He was a tease, someone who you could test their bluff simply by responding in a similar tone back.

"I don't know, never seen so many hot guys on a single stage before that I didn't have to throw money at," she giggled back, leaning forward to make sure only he heard her.

He moved back, coughing awkwardly before looking over at the members to see if anyone had heard her, but to his suprise, no one had.

"Tell us, what did you think, miss?" The youngest member, Jungkook, asked.

He was just as sweaty as the rest, breathing heavy before taking a long drink of a water bottle.

"Pretty good, never seen something as amazing," Hyerim said, looking directly at Taehyung before winking.

If she was to infiltrate the members and get as much information from them as she wanted, she would have to become friendly with them or at least gain their trust.

And from the looks of it, she had just found the perfect guinea pig.

Taehyung blushed, looking down while picking at his hair bashfully.

"That's good to hear. Heard from Sejin you'll be writing some juicy backstage details for our fans to read. Hope this helps your perspective a bit," Jungkook said.

She looked at each one of them.

Taehyung and Jungkook seemed to be the first to open to her, Jungkook speaking only to make the awkward atmosphere subside, while Taehyung simply wanted to be a flirt.

It was like a test in her mind. Unlocking each member as a playable pawn in her game would definitely be a challenge.

But she was up for it.

Anything to save her job.

She had heard from one of her coworkers that they had been looking into hiring younger, more "fresh" journalists to take her place if she didn't get her act together.

This was her last chance to prove herself and she wasn't about to let a little challenge ruin it for her.

"Well, guys, we need to get ready. Our next flight takes off at 6 am. If we go home now, shower, and pack by 12 we'll have 6 hours of sleep. Jungkook for the love of all things holy do not stay up playing Piano Tiles or on Ifunny. That goes for you too Taehyung. We have enough memes for a year. We don't need any more. Yoongi please remember to bring your neck pillow, we don't need another insident. And Jimin please don't forget your earphones. I don't have another pair to share this time. And Jin, please keep the snacks at a minimum. Do not forget suncreen guys. Now let us all have a good-"

"Hey, hyung, shouldn't you be the one making sure you don't forget anything? Last time I checked you forgot your passpor-"

"SHUT IT!" Namjoon interrupted Taehyung, his eyes going to the other members before falling on Hyerim's.

"Don't worry guys, I plan on double checking for him in the morning," Jin assured them.

They all seemed to be wanting to say something to her, Yoongi being the first to say goodbye and to leave with Hoseok close behind him.

"Has been weird since those two got their own place," Jimin mumbled.

He had been rather quiet the whole time, even Yoongi and Hoseok exchanging some words as they cooled down after the concert.

"Yeah. I mean, we could have all stayed over at one of our places. I guess they have been spending a lot of time together. They still haven't gotten over... You know," Taehyung mumbled, looking over at Hyerim before going over to Jungkook and looking over his shoulder at his phone.

Hyerim looked at the members, attempting to read their faces.

The atmosphere had seemed to have gotten somber, Jin looking the most spaced out out of all of them. Something seemed to have troubled him out of Taehyung's comment.

"Well, let us go. It's getting late and we have a long flight ahead of us tomorrow. Ms. Y/N, have a good night. See you at the airport," the leader said, bowing slightly before walking out followed by the other members except Taehyung.

He looked over at her, as if studying her face.

"Hey, miss," he stuttered out.

"Yeah?"

"Do you actually throw your money at men?"

Hyerim chuckled, amused at the bewildered man infront of her, shrugging her shoulders as she stood up.

"Who knows," she winked, Taehyung seeming to have lost his breath for a second before he bowed down and walked out the door.

Hyerim looked at her phone.

Him (11:20pm) : Had a rough night. Hope your day went well.

She smirked to herself.

"Something is definitely up... I just know it. Kim Seokjin, I'll make sure to get it out of you one way or another. That's my promise."

🐨 Hope you enjoyed the first chapter of Headline that I have written.

I tried to write as clearly as I could, making sure you could see Hyerim and her perspective of things as well as possible. I mean, the girl is in a pickle here.

I wonder, what secret could Jin possibly have??

Any ideas??
