• The story centers on the brothers Kai and Nya Smith, who were orphaned after their parents died in a car accident when they were only 8 and 3 years old. And having no other relatives, the two brothers had to fend for themselves, although they received help from their neighbors in the neighborhood where they lived. Thanks to their parents' insurance they were able to support themselves for a while, but Kai knew that the money would not last long, so he looked for different types of work to support Nya.

• The neighbors in the neighborhood let Kai do all kinds of housework and they paid him quite well, thanks to this Kai became very good at keeping his house clean and stable, also, some neighbors taught Kai how to do Nya's hair better so that she would continue to be a pleasant girl in front of others. But Kai also managed to get a job in the blacksmith shop where his parents worked, the manager was a very good friend of his father Ray and his mother Maya, but the boss knew that he couldn't put Kai to work in heavy jobs so he only let Kai do easy jobs and that weren't too heavy for the boy, and when Kai finished his tasks he always paid him well.

Kai managed to get better at various household tasks and over time the head of the workshop gave Kai other types of jobs so that she could earn more money. He helped Nya with several of her tasks at her school and Kai no longer needed the neighbors to prepare food for them since Kai managed to become quite a good cook. • Nya's dream is to open her own auto shop, so she and Kai could work together. She also wished that she could give Kai a good rest, Nya knew that her brother worked hard every day, he even works late sometimes in the blacksmith shop, and that's why Nya wanted to start her own business so that she could better help her brother and give him a better life without worries, she also wanted to help her neighborhood in some way.

• Both brothers respected each other's lives, Kai let Nya go out with her school friends and Nya let her brother enjoy other things. Kai sometimes brags about her brother to her coworkers, saying that she is a smart and strong girl. On his days off Kai studied at home and Nya sometimes helped him with that. Nya also speaks well of Kai with her friends, she was never ashamed of the life she had together with her brother. Kai managed to get a new position in the blacksmith shop, now he helped the other workers with some heavy jobs and was very well paid for his effort, and if he got hurt Nya always took care of his injuries and his boss allowed him to miss work until he fully recovered, Kai knew his boss was a good man, and that's why he always respected him. Kai was even invited by the other workers so they could hang out together.

• But everything changed when the cracks appeared, by then Kai was 21 years old and Nya was 16 years old. At first it was obvious that they were worried, in fact, the army and the police banned the areas where the cracks were, Kai even asked Nya to come home earlier for fear that the cracks would do something, life in the country of Ninjago was totally interrupted by the arrival of the cracks. Things got worse when the cracks grew and the creatures appeared, the combination of the magical and human world completely changed the lives of the two brothers. After the Blessings began to appear on the people called Awakened, Nya was the only one of the two brothers who managed to get an S-class Blessing with powers related to water and fire.

• Nya became an S-class Awakened after a dark snake-shaped creature attacked her school, she unthinkingly used her powers to stop the creature from destroying her school and hurting anyone near her. Kai and other workers fled the workshop when some creatures began to attack the site, several of the workers awakened their Blessings to deal with the creatures, Kai ran to Nya's school to take her to a safe place, but as soon as he arrived at the place, he saw how his younger sister destroyed a huge monstrous creature. He managed to get her out of there and take her to her house.

• After a few days of the events, the whole world realized the changes that took place in the world, the new alliances that were formed with the Legendary Beasts and the new regimes and measures against the creatures were also announced. Kai kept Nya hidden for as long as she could since she was afraid that something bad would happen to her, even though Nya had powers, Kai still didn't stop worrying about her younger sister. But then there was a search in her neighborhood and they took everyone who was Awakened since it was a mandatory world order that all people who possessed a Blessing had to be taken to a training camp in every country in the world. Kai tried to stop the soldiers, but to no avail as they managed to take his sister, they promised Kai that Nya would be fine, and Nya assured him that she would be back soon, all Kai did since then was pray that his sister would be safe and return home with him safely.

• It only took a few months for Nya to complete her training as an S-class Hunter, they gave her permission to send letters to Kai to get him to know that she was alright at least. Nya became one of the best S-class Hunters of her generation, her skills managed to master many Dungeons, she obviously kept the treasures and also shared the rewards with her companions. She was admitted to the most famous Guild in her country, called the Beasts Guild, a guild led by two human-like Legendary Beasts, named Wu the Heavenly Golden Dragon and Garmadon an Oni Lord.

• Both leaders saw Nya's ability and decided to accept her into their Guild along with other S-class Hunters. Thanks to Nya and her group of Hunters, they managed to become recognized Hunters in their country, people saw her as a hero and Kai managed to find out about Nya's achievements from the news, he was really proud, but he was still worried about what was happening with Nya. Nya returned home with Kai with the news that she was accepted into the Guild of Beasts, Kai was initially worried since it was too powerful a Guild, but Nya promised him that with his achievements he would earn more money so that he could give Kai a decent life, Kai let Nya decide what seemed right to her and that was how the two brothers parted ways, for now.
