You took refuge at Delbert's house. Well, more like mansion. Being a scientist allowed him to have stuff like that. You were all resting in his observatory, while Delbert called the police about the Inn. A big fireplace was lit to keep you all warm. Books surrounded you, but you were too doleful to read. Your clothes and h/c hair were still damp from the rain. You sat by the fire trying to dry yourself along with your mother and Sarah.

"I just spoke with the Constabulary. Those blaggard pirates have fled without a trace." Delbert knelt down in front of Sarah, as Jim placed a blanket over her shoulders. "I'm sorry, Sarah. I'm afraid the old Benbow Inn has burned to the ground."

Jim looked like he was about to say something to his mother, but he decided to close his mouth and walk away instead. He then took another blanket, and draped it over your shoulders.

"Thanks," you muttered, clutching tight onto your spyglass that was resting on your lap.

You were still trying to figure out why Billy Bones told you to not let the pirates find it. Your mother gently placed a hand on your arm. She was still in shock as well. You gave her your blanket.

Delbert cleared his throat. "Well, certainly a lot of trouble over that odd little sphere." Jim picked up the said object from its resting spot on a table. "Those markings baffle me. Unlike anything I've ever encountered. Even with my vast experience and superior intellect, it would take me years to unlock its-"

Delbert was cut off when Jim did something with the sphere, and green light shot out of it. You gasped as the light swirled around, and laid out a grid all around the now dark room. Little shapes were scattered around the room that looked like different planets. It all looked so amazing.

 "It's a map," Delbert realized.

Everybody looked at it in wonder.

Delbert looked close at one of the planets. "Wait. Wait, wait, wait! This is us. The planet Montressor." He tapped on it, and suddenly the map moved forward, so it looked like you were moving through the space map. Delbert pointed to a small galaxy as it passed by. "That's the Magellanic Cloud." He pointed to another galaxy. "That's the Coral Galaxy."

The said galaxy ran into you, and dispersed for a second before coming back together, the map still moving along. Sarah, Jim, your mom, and you were all in awe.

Delbert kept defining the celestial bodies. "That's the Cygnus Cross, and that's the Kerian Abyss. Wait, what's this? What's this?"

The map finally stopped moving, staying on one planet while everything else disappeared. The only unique feature about it were the two giant rings that circled around it. But that's all you needed to recognize it. You widened your eyes. It couldn't be; it was a legend.

 "It's-"

"Treasure Planet," you and Jim breathed, cutting off Delbert.

 "No," Delbert denied dramatically.

"That's Treasure Planet," Jim said, shocked, but sounding very happy.

You kept your eyes on the planet, not wanting to look away incase it was a dream.

"Flint's trove? The moon of a thousand worlds?" Delbert questioned, getting more excited each second. "You know what this means?"

"It means that it's not just a legend," you said, the realization slowly coming upon you.

"It means that all this treasure is only a boat ride away," Jim added.

"Whoever brings it back would hold an eternal place atop the pantheon of explorers," Delbert said dramatically. "He'd be able to experience-" The map suddenly shut off, startling Delbert. "What just happened?"

"Mom, this is it. The answer to all our problems," Jim said, thrilled, putting the golden orb into his jacket pocket.

"Jim, there is absolutely no way-" Sarah protested.

"Don't you remember? All those stories?" Jim reminded.

 "That's all they were- stories!"

"Apparently not anymore," you said, glancing outside at the stars longingly.

"With that treasure, we could rebuild the Benbow a hundred times over, and M/n would be able to get all the medication she needs," Jim pointed out.

 Your mother looked down.

"Well this is-it-it's just-" Sarah chuckled, sounding slightly aggravated. "Delbert, M/n, would you two please explain how ridiculous this is?"

"Y-yes, Sarah is right, Jim," your mother said, snapping out of her daze. "You can't just go off looking for a legend."

"Was the magical, green map that came out of an orb showing us Treasure Planet not proof enough that it isn't a legend?" you asked her.

 Your mom went silent.

"Delbert," Sarah sighed, "please tell them how ridiculous this is."

"It's totally preposterous," Delbert declared, making Sarah put a smug smile on her face as she put her hands on her hips, "traversing the entire galaxy alone."

You and Jim rolled your eyes concurrently.

"Now at least, we hear some sense," Sarah said, satisfied with Delbert's answer.

"That's why I'm going with you," Delbert then added, picking up a suitcase.

"Delbert!" Sarah and your mother shouted at him.

Giant smiles grew onto yours and Jim's faces.

The man raced around the room, stuffing things into his bag. "I'll use my savings to finance the expedition. I'll commission a ship, hire a captain and a crew."

"You're not serious," Sarah told him.

"This is getting out of hand," your mother sighed.

Delbert slid down the stacks of books he was on. "All my life I've been waiting for an opportunity like this, and here it is, screaming!" He then started to dance. "Go, Delbert! Go Delbert! Go-"

"Okay! Okay! You're both grounded," Sarah said, stopping Delbert's dance. She then sighed heavily. Your mother looked like she was about to do the same, and possibly sprout a migraine.

"Mom, look, I know that I keep messing everything up," Jim said softly, "and I know that I let you down. But this is my chance to make it up to you. I'm gonna make things right."

"You're both insane if you think we're going to let you go on a dangerous trip in space," your mother said, putting her hands on her hips defiantly.

You looked at your mom. "Mom, I know I'm doing the same as Jim, not doing what you always expect me to. I know that I'm starting to fail at everything ever since Dad disappeared..." You took a deep breath. "This is my chance to make everything better for us. You can get better, finally. I want to make you proud again."

"Sarah, M/n, if I may?" Delbert said to the mothers.

The three adults huddled away from Jim and you, talking to themselves. You looked at Jim with hopeful eyes.  With a small reassuring smile, Jim took your hand lightly in his. You looked up to see Sarah and your mother looking at the two of you.

Sarah sighed. "Jim, I don't want to lose you," she said, brushing her son's hair back.

"Neither you, Y/n," your mom said, cupping your face in her hands gently. "You're all I have left." You leaned into her touch.

Jim took his mother's hand with a smile. "Mom, you won't. I'll make you proud."

"I'll come back, Mom, I promise. I won't let you down," you told your mom sincerely.

Sarah and M/n smiled at the two of you.

"Well," Delbert said, clearing his throat, "there we are then. We'll begin preparations at once." He went over to the window, and gestured out it to the waning crescent moon. "Jim, Y/n, soon we'll be off to the Spaceport."
