Negotiation
A/N. Hey, guys! New chapter! Just a warning for this A/N, there will possibly be one more chapter if I can make one before I have finals, and that will be like an entire week of pain for me, so then it'll be a while before I can put out another chapter. Once finals and stuff are over, I'll get another chapter out as soon as possible. Until then, read! -Anna

You, Morph, and Jim went back to Delbert and Amelia, and brought them to BEN's place as the sun was beginning to drop. The place was big and a good for cover from the pirates. BEN was already inside as the four of you went in. Delbert carried Amelia inside bridal style, with her arm in a sling as Jim, Morph, and you got in yourselves.
"Uh, pardon the mess, people," BEN apologized. "You'd think in a hundred years, I would've dusted a little more often, but, you know, when you're batchin' it, you tend to, uh, let things go."
He pushed a chess board off of a barrel, and hid a pair of pink pants behind him. BEN then saw Delbert carrying in Amelia, and how the doctor rested her against a random metal mound in the room. "Aw, isn't that sweet? I find old-fashioned romance so touching, don't you? Then again, young love is also just as touching."
BEN glanced at you and Jim, but you both ignored it as you two looked around.
"How about drinks for the happy couple?" BEN took out a platter with two small pots on it. One of the pots was bubbling, and another one had a wrench in it.
"Ooh, uh, ooh. Uh, no. T-thank you, we don't drink, and uh, we're not a couple." Delbert took off his red overcoat as he smiled at the captain, and she weakly returned the gesture. Delbert cleared his throat, and looked at the walls. "Look at these markings. They're identical to the ones on the map. I suspect these are the hieroglyphic remnants of an ancient culture."
Delbert wasn't wrong. The metal walls were decorated with the circles and symbols that were etched on the map. It looked very strange, but interesting at the same time. You wondered what they meant.
"Mr. Hawkins, Miss L/n, stop anyone who tries to approach." Amelia groaned in pain.
Delbert folded up his overcoat, and put it behind the female's head. "Yes, yes. Now listen to me- stop giving orders for a few milliseconds, and lie still.
"Very forceful, Doctor," Amelia said, her voice strained as she looked up at the said man with a small smile. "Go on. Say something else."
Delbert just smiled at her.
"Hey, look!" BEN suddenly shouted as he pointed out of his giant, round, open window. "There's some more of your buddies!" BEN waved wildly and jumped up and down. "Hey, fellas! We're over here, fellas!"
Laser shots were fired at BEN, and he yelped as he tried to dodge them. Before he could get hurt, you and Jim pulled him out of sight. Jim fired back with his own pistol at the pirates.
"Stop wastin' your fire!" you could just hear Silver order.
The firing ceased. Jim reloaded his pistol.
"Hello up there!" Silver called up.
Cautiously, you and Jim peeked a look, and saw Silver a bit aways off, waving a ripped, white piece of cloth. You narrowed your eyes in suspicion.
"Jimbo, N/n, if it's alright with the captain, I'd like a short word with you two. No tricks, just a little palaver," Silver offered.
"Come to bargain for the map, doubtless. Pestilential." Amelia tried to stand, but didn't get very far before falling back with a groan of pain.
"Captain," Delbert chided sternly.
"That means..." you said slowly, grins forming on yours and Jim's faces.
"That he thinks we still have it," Jim finished your thought.
Amelia agreed to let you and Jim face Silver with Morph. Slowly, the three of you ventured out of BEN's place, and went towards Silver. You noticed Silver walked with a cane, no doubt because of his mechanical leg that Jim busted. You hid your smirk of satisfaction, a bit happy at his misfortune after his betrayal.
Morph flew up to Silver, and the man grinned. "Ah, Morphy! I wondered where you was off to." Silver then groaned, and sat down, holding his mechanical leg. "Oh, this poor old leg's downright snarky since that game attack we had in the galley."
Silver let out a lighthearted chuckle, but you and Jim just kept hard looks on your faces.
Silver's face dropped as he sighed. "Whatever you heard back there...at least the part concerning you two...I didn't mean a word of it."
Your face and Jim's didn't change.
"Had that bloodthirsty lot thought I'd gone soft, they'd have gutted us three." Silver leaned in close to your faces. "Listen to me. If we play our cards right, we can all walk away from this rich as kings."
Jim put his hand under his chin as he looked at Silver with an interested look. You held the same look, although it was half real, unlike Jim's that was fake. You wanted to believe that Silver meant it, but you knew once you found the treasure, he would turn his back on you two so fast.
"Yeah?" Jim questioned the pirate.
"You two and me get that map and, uh, an even portion of the treasure is for both of you." Silver chuckled, and held out his mechanical hand towards you and Jim.
Jim looked down with a small smile that soon turned into a glare. "Boy. You are really something." He paced around Silver as you kept an eye on the pirate's movements. "All that talk of greatness, light coming off my sails...what a joke."
You shook your head at Silver. "And me traveling the universe with Jim, keeping him in check with my spyglasss, achieving great things. Who knew a pirate could spit so many lies in one sentence." You put extra emphasis on your spyglass, giving him a glare that may have well have been a punch to Silver's gut.
Silver stuttered. "Now, just see here, Jimbo, N/n-"
"I mean, at least you taught us one thing," Jim interrupted, still slowly walking around Silver. "Stick to it, right? Well, that's just what we're gonna do. We're gonna make sure you never see one doubloon of our treasure!"
"That treasure is owed me, by thunder!" Silver shouted.
"Well, try to find it without our map, by thunder!" Jim countered, imitating Silver's accent.
"Jim," you hissed, knowing he was just digging himself a bigger hole with Silver..
"Oh, you still don't know how to pick your fights, do you, boy?" Silver growled. "Now, mark me. Either I get that map by dawn tomorrow, or so help me, I'll use the ship's cannons to blast you all to kingdom come!" Silver's strong voice echoed throughout the planet. "Once you give me that, I'll have all I need."
Silver grabbed your spyglass from in his jacket, and tauntingly held it out in front of you. You swore your vision turned red for a moment as you jumped at Silver. Jim had to hold you back from beating Silver. It was ironic, considering you were the one who held Jim back from causing fights.
"Give it back," you growled lowly.
"Oh, ho, ho. No can do, N/n," Silver said, looking through your spyglass. "If I'm spitting out the truth now, I might as well let it all out. Your father was a dirty, stealing pirate! I personally worked with him! You look just like him. Oh, if only you followed in his footsteps."
Silver wiped away a fake tear, and your gritted your teeth. Everything was coming out in the heat of the moment. That's why you saw recognition in Silver's eyes when you first met him. He knew your father. You didn't accept his statement though.
"That's a lie," you told him.
"Y/n's father could never had been a pirate like you," Jim added.
Your knew your father. He was too kind to everyone to be a lying pirate that looted ships for treasure.
"How else could he have gotten this trinket?" Silver waved your spyglass just out of your reach. "I saw his last moments, fighting Captain Flint for his treasure to get something for his precious daughter. I told him it was suicide, but he didn't listen as he was taken away by that blasted Flint. Face it, N/n. I might as well be family."
You seethed at his words, telling yourself it was all lies. "You're nothing but a lying, stealing, dirty, pirate. Give. Me. Back. My. Spyglass."
"As I said, no can do." Silver tucked your spyglass back into his jacket. "Morph, hop to it."
Morph only quivered, staying in place.
"Now!" Silver roared.
Morph finally lost it, and fell into little pieces, quickly moving to hide behind Jim's shoulder. Silver muttered something to himself, and started to limp away. You, Jim, and Morph did the same, heading back into BEN's place, with Jim having a comforting, yet calming hand on your shoulder. You tried to calm yourself down, but you couldn't help but think over Silver's words.
But what if he's right? you thought to yourself. What if he's not lying?
