~Prologue? Introduction?~
TW: Slight mention of blood near the end, injury
It all started with an idea. An idea from the one and only ZombieCleo. She had the brilliant idea to start a game where the focus was to collect the heads of other Hermits. Of course Cleo didn't think of it with the intention of hurting the other Hermits. She tried to make it as clear as possible that she wanted the player heads that drop when killing someone, not the actual heads of her friends and fellow Hermits. A player head is like a token, when killing a player a copy of their head will drop in their place from a puff of smoke. They are made up of a silicon like material with the simple purpose of acting as a trophy, nothing more.
It all started as fun and games, Hermits joking around and thinking of the most funny yet ridiculous to get each others heads. It was good for a short while. Then the prize went up, more and more diamond blocks were being added over the course of a week. Greed began to build up in the Hermits, wanting the prize for themselves and only themselves. The only ones who didn't feel this way were the ones who teamed up instead of going in alone. They started worrying for they're fellow Hermits. They started becoming more violent with each other, and they ways of gaining players heads were becoming more violent. Hermits started threatening one another for their heads and sneaking up on other who were head hunting to steal the player heads from them.
Of course player heads weren't the only thing being gathered, villager heads and mob head were being collected as well. Those were fairly rare though, since player heads were worth more points than those. Cleo seemed to be getting worse as well. She always found a good fight thrilling, but never as much as she had been recently. Knowing that she was enjoying the sight of her friends picking each other of made her feel sick. But she couldn't deny the fact that she enjoyed it, no matter how much she wanted to. She seemed to be getting more greedy as well, but not for the diamonds, as she wasn't getting those. She was getting greed for the heads she was receiving. She wanted more.

The day was going by as it normally did. Well normally being the normal of the past week. Hermits plotting against each other and trying to figure out how they could get each others heads. But then something strange happened, the sky became dark and dull. Black clouds started surrounding the wide area of the server as Hermits began to gather in the shopping district, where the source of this seemed to be coming from. Or at least that's what they had guessed. The sounds of thunder could be heard the closer Hermits got to the mycelium covered island.
They had obviously come to the conclusion that a storm was coming, but something about this particular storm seemed off. There was no rain but lightning was striking left and right. That wasn't the only odd thing, what was even weirder was the the lightning was flashing different colors and seemed to be coming down much harsher than normal. It was getting to the point where it was dangerous to be flying there. Many Hermits on the way there had almost been struck down either onto the island or into the ocean, they were lucky enough to be missed by a couple inches. Well, almost all of them, a select few got struck down while in flight.
BDubs had been struck down while flying over the barge and he ended up falling through the roof, shattering the glass ceiling and plummeting to the ground. All while startling a very unsuspecting Grian who had just been restocking the barge for the day. Ren got struck over where everyone was gathering and ended up falling onto Iskall. He briefly apologized for it while Iskall gave him a glare that said 'Watch yourself'. Etho had been struck over the ocean. He would have drowned if Doc wasn't flying beside him at the moment lightning struck. And Lastly Mumbo had gotten struck down by Lookie Lookie at my Bookie and landed on the roof, similarly to BDubs but there was no glass ceiling for him to break.
You could tell who had been struck by lightning because they had what looked like brightly colored burn marks on they're skin. Even though everyone was beginning to turn on one another, they still made sure their fellow Hermits were okay. After Iskall sent Ren that glare he still asked if he was alright, to which he reassured the Sweden that he was. Grian almost immediately ran to Bdubs after the shock of seeing him fall through the glass part of his roof and asked if he was injured. Bdubs being Bdubs replied with "Well duh!" and Grian went to go fetch a first aid kit. Doc pulled Etho out of the water and onto a boat to make sure he was okay, and he was. And when Mumbo arrived to where everyone was they all looked over to him in worried that he had been injured like Ren. He told them he was fine and it was 'just a scratch'.
Most Hermits were soon gathered around where the eye of the storm seemed to be, and that was at the head games bulletin board. Grain and Bdubs had arrived to the scene to see everyone gathered around the board. A few Hermits looked over to them. "Woah Bdubs are you okay dude!?" Ren asked frighten at Bdubs state. "Of course not! I'm the exact opposite actually!" Bdubs yelled in his normal tone. "He got struck by lightning and fell through the roof of the barge." Grian explained. Some Hermits gave him sympathetic looks while Etho, who had gotten there with Doc a few minutes earlier, walked over to help Bdubs.
He had a towel wrapped around his shoulders that Doc had given him once they got to the shopping district. The water was unexpectedly colder than normal and Etho was freezing up, and the weather was no help since it had caused the wind to pick up. Bdubs thanked Etho for the help and they started walking back to the group. The heard little conversations happening around what seem to be the main conversation in the front. They kept hearing questions like,
What do you think it is?
What if its dangerous?
and
Do you think this means anything?
Grian walked to the front of the crowd to see Impulse, Tango, Xisuma, and Scar having a conversation. "We get storms pretty often but I've never seen one like this." Tango said, examining the sky. "Not to mention there never this bad." Scar added in a worried tone. It was easy to tell when Scar was afraid, he would always mess with his hands, rubbing them back and forth and his hand gestures become more extravagant. Grian came up and rubbed his back to try comforting him. Of course it startled Scar at first because he didn't know who it was at first. But when he turned to see Grian's soft smile he relaxed.
"Guys we might wanna back up, something's happening." Impulse said. He put a hand out if front of them and slowly backed up, forcing the other four to do so as well. Xisuma looked up into the sky like Tango had earlier to see if he could figure out what was happening. "It looks like lightening is gathering up in the center of it." He told them. "You mean like when a group of skeleton horsemen are about to spawn?" Grian asked. "Similar to that yes." he replied. The sound of thunder surrounded the group of Hermits. Blinking flashes of lightening startling some and bringing fear to others.
A bright flash of lightening struck the ground in front of the five, getting different reactions from all of them. Scar jumped back, Grian tripped on his own feet and fell to the floor, Xisuma seemed only a little startled and didn't move, Tango stiffened up, and Impulse covered his eyes because of how bright the lightening was. "Oh my goodness Grian!" Scar yelled. He dived down to help Grian up, extending a hand out to him. "Thanks Scar." Grian said as Scar helped him up. When he was back up again he turned back to the direction the lightening had come from. He was shocked to see what was in front of him.
There where the lightening struck was a gravestone and a skull. The Gravestone was cracked and smoking from the lightening. There was a red hand print on the top right part of the stone. There was no words, just a blank slate. Then there was the skull. The skull was cracked similarly to the gravestone and there was blood dripping down the top of it. But the most disturbing part was that the skull had carved letters into the forehead. Those words scared people inside and out, it chilled their bones and made them feel uneasy. Like something bad was going to happen very soon. Those words were,
