THESE ARE THE REQUIREMENTS

▣ All books must adhere to Wattpad guidelines.

▣  You can enter two books into the club; one as your long term partnership book and the other as your house party book.

▣  New applicants are subject to a one-week trial period before they're allowed into the club.

▣  All books and communication must be in English and books entered into the club must have at least 5 chapters, excluding the author's note.

▣ We accept mature and LGBT.

▣ We accept all genres, except random.

▣  You are required to follow the founder and co-founders of the Coalition Community:

▣ Follow this account and add this book to your library to receive all of our updates.

▣ Be active and communicative.

▣ You're required to follow your housekeeper for easy communication.

▣ We do not use hashtags when reviewing in Coalition.

▣  The Coalition Log goes out every Monday at 9:00 AM EST and all reviewing deadline is Sunday 10:00 PM EST.

▣ The purpose of this book club is to read and enjoy literature! So, if you love books, and you're ready to discuss them... you're in the right place.

▣ You may find that you disagree with something that another member of the group has said. It is okay to disagree as long as it's done respectfully.

▣ Inappropriate behaviour and/or language will not be tolerated.

▣ Please respect the authority of the moderators.

▣ When there are new Book Club Members, in a round table fashion, we each make a 1-2 sentence introduction right after welcoming them. This earns you Ace Points.

The Partnership

If your trial period is successful, you'll be added to the long term partnership pool. In the partnership log, all club members books, genres, and chapters are listed underneath their banners. You choose your long term partner, reach out to them and let the mod know to add your partnering to the partnership log. You and your partner are then to read and review each other's books until completion.

The club's requirement is one chapter review every week, however, if you and your partner choose to review more chapters weekly, have at it.

You're to always log your partnership progress and let your banner officer know once you've reached the end of your partner's book.

The House-party

Navigate to the FAQ chapter for more about the reading specificity of the house parties.

For house party readings, all house member's books will be placed in a pool and every week the housekeeper will draw a book of the week based on a random shuffle. This will be called the house pick, and all housemates are to review two chapters of the house pick.

When done with your weekly reviews, you're to answer the question of the week in the week's log. The QOTW is updated in the Coalition log every week.

For house members whose books are chosen as house picks, (you obviously cannot review your own books), you'll be required to review the book on your banner shelf.

Both banners will have a banner pick on their shelf every month and will be in the weekly coalition log. Banner picks are chosen on a scoring system (the ace points system).

The house-party is shuffled on a yearly basis, however, it will be reshuffled once all the books within a house have been fully reviewed. This is so everyone gets a chance to have their entire book reviewed before moving on to new readers and reviewers in the reshuffle.

Review Legend

Our review legend program rewards those who do a bang-up job with their reviews. You win ace points, a mention on the club page and an honourable mention in the weekly log for a month every time you win this.

The Review Legend is decided based on admin monthly nomination and member voting.

Ace Points
◥✥◤

Ace points help you land the banner pick of the month. Ace points can also be used to undo a strike penalty or opt-out of an event. To learn more about how to earn Ace Points, navigate to the Ace Ranking Chapter. The Ace Ranking chapter will display each member's accumulated Ace points.

Hiatus

You're allowed time off, we understand there's a real-world out there. But hiatus only lasts a month and it's best to request hiatus before a new log goes out. After a month on hiatus, you'll be removed from the club's log. You're welcome to reapply to join the club at a later time.

Extension

Reviewing extensions are allowed, however, we require at least 24 hours notice before the reading deadline. Deadline across the Coalition Community is Sunday 10:00 PM EST.

Strike/Probation
◥✥◤
▣ It's a 3 strike rule. Once you get three consecutive strikes, you're out and will not be allowed back into the club.

▣ You get a strike when you don't complete your reviews before the weekly deadline and don't request an extension or aren't on hiatus.

▣ Your reading activities will be suspended once a strike is recorded. When on suspension, you get a week to do your reviews plus one additional chapter as penalty.

▣ In the event that you do not complete your task during your suspension, you'll be removed from the club and if you reapply to the club, you're to complete the penalties owed to the club first before your application will be considered. Fair is fair.

▣ Those who go MIA with pending reviews will be tagged 'deserters' and will not be able to apply to the club or affiliate communities in the future.

▣ If your reviews are just the bare minimum and your housekeeper/banner officer informs you to pick up the slack and you don't, you'll be placed on suspension until you pass review boot camp.

The Trial Period

Like we stated earlier, your first week with the club will be a trial. After you apply, an admin will confirm the information on your form and respond to you. You'll then undergo the Reviewing Bootcamp and shadow your housekeeper throughout your trial period. This helps us to assess your reviewing skills and help you improve [if need be].

After your trial period, you'll be added to your house-party's book shuffle and added to the long term partnership pool.

All the necessary information will be communicated with you via PM.
