9 Jack Frost

POV Jack

Everything was coming back to normal in Arendelle. Maybe not as normal as before since I was now watching when people skated on castle’s courtyard, during summer. Elsa had done ice and skates for everyone and they had fun. I watched them go while I sat on the fountains edge.

“You can do it Anna!” Elsa cheered her sister when they started to skate too. They were having a blast and I couldn’t help not to smile as I rested my head against my hand. They couldn’t see me now and they never will. Once you lost your believe I think it is impossible to fix when you are an adult. That is what they are, adults.

Castle’s courtyard looked stunning. The ice pillars rise against the walls and the ice itself was clear. Just to be sure I decided to stay for while and check that things are actually alright. During the few days I spent here I saw as that awful guy named Hans was taken back to his kingdom to be given his punishment from his action. I saw as Anna’s and Kristoff’s relationship grew stronger.

That Kristoff was obsessed with ice. He was overly thrilled when he got a new sleigh. The embarrassing part was when Kristoff gave his thanks to Anna. They were kissing and I had to turn away. Affection between man and woman was something new to me, it always made me feel uncomfortable. When I have been a guardian I have dated no one and I think that "no dating" part suits to my old self also.

Elsa had been in her castle for couple of days. Anna had told Kristoff that she was just busy with being a Queen and all. I knew otherwise since I could visit her without her knowing that I was there. The guilt was eating Queen Elsa again. She felt guilty for what she had done to Arendelle and Anna.

When I flew to Elsa’s window I noticed that it was open. Carefully I sneaked my way inside and saw her sitting in front of a table. She was in her thoughts as usual and her expression was almost sad. I went to lay on her bed and watched her as usual. “Jack I am sorry about the things I said,” her whisper made me quickly sat on the bed. Her dressing table was just in front of her bed's end against the wall. From the dressing table’s mirror I saw that she was crying. Silent tears were running on her cheeks. “I am so sorry for being mean,” she whispered again.

I shook myself and had to think really hard now. How would I let her know that everything is alright? That I am not mad to her? My face slowly showed a smirk forming up. Now I know. I walked next to her and my hand went all the way over the mirror. It froze and Elsa started to stare at the sight, I hope that I won’t scare her with my stunt.

With my front finger I started to write on the frosted mirror. “I am happy for you, don’t feel sorry. –Jack.”  Elsa furrowed her eyebrows and her head turned to her right where I was standing. She gasped for air ”Overland! What are you doing here? How did you get in?”

My mouth was wide open, I was just about to leave when she managed to saw me. “The door was open,” I smirked and she moved her head from side to side. She was disagreeing. ”No, I locked the door. Explain,” she sounded serious. ”Uh,” my hand went through my hair as I tried to get some sort of explanation out of me.

“Well.. I flew in,” you idiot now she will stop believing again! “Is that so,” she said with quiet voice. “Yes, I am Jack Frost and maybe that Overland also that you are speaking of. I can fly.” She chuckled, ”I don’t believe in Jack Fr-” Before she could continue I placed my front finger on her lips. “Please, dont say that or i will disappear again. Let me show you who I am now.”

Pov Elsa

Jack’s finger felt cool against my lips. He looked satisfied after I stayed silent when he pulled his finger away. “Alright, just don’t get scared. It is just me who is doing this, not you.” He slammed his staff to floor and the room got frosted, then his hand waved through the air and there was snowing. There was raining snow inside of my bedroom. But how, this truly wasn’t me?

Then I started to watch him closer. His hair was actually not dyed to white and those eyes were his. His clothes had frost on the edges and he was pale looking. His smell was the crispyness and freshness of winter. He was smiling to me. ”Turn around,” I said to him while I made a rolling movement with my front finger. He furrowed his eyebrows and seemed confused, ”Do it!” I said.

Now he was facing his back at me. A scene from my book was rushing to my mind. Quickly I run to my bookshelf and took a certain book from the middle row. “What are you doing?” He asked but was still the way i wanted him to be, i go through some pages until i found it. There was the sketch of a boy who was described as a prankster and as the Spirit of Winter. The boy on the sketch reminded me a lot of that Jack who was standing in front of me right now. Accidentally the book drop from my hands when I realized who I was looking at. The puzzle pieces were going together, his looks and his way to behave. How he just controlled the same powers i do and he even had told me himself that he was Jack Frost. Jack Overland was really Jack Frost.

POV Jack

The long moment of silence felt awkward. She made me stand my back to her direction. Ok, this is enough. When I turned around I felt something hitting me against the wall. She had just literally pushed me against the wall. Ice was squeezing my chest. “So, Jack Frost. ” Her voice was almost scary, ”Why did you curse me?”

Wait.. What? Curse her? Her eyes were narrowed as was her mouth. “What are you talking about?” My voice sounded higher than normal. I couldn’t get away, my staff was on the ground. I should really glue it to my hand since things like this seem to happen to me. “You cursed me Jack! You lied to me!” Now I am really losing it.

”Please, explain. I don’t understand why you are behaving like this.” Her expression started to relax. “ You made me a monster before I was born. YOU DID THIS TO ME!” A sigh run from my lungs, ”Did what?” She slapped my cheek again. ”You cursed me with these powers! I lost my family because of you trickster!” The trickster part I agree but I didn’t want her to suffer ever and never have I cursed anyone.

“You are barking on the wrong tree!” I yelled. ”No! You made me have this curse and then you didn’t let me die. Why did you do that to me!” Her voice was cracking and sharp white ice sparks were coming from her. “HEY! Stop it!” She woke up from her daze just in nick of time. An ice spike almost pierced my head.

”I haven’t been Jack Frost before you were born! I was that Jack Overland guy you have been talking about! ” She showed interest to me, ”Really? Why should I believe you since there have been Jack Frost for hundreds of years. Are you him or are you not?” She seemed confused but I can’t blame her about it.

“Let me go and I will explain -,” her words cut me off, ”First explain, then I will consider it.” I took a huge breath. ”Actually I don’t remember myself before becoming Jack Frost. You told me my old name, Overland.” I took a short brake to look how she was taking it. No reaction to give me direction where to take my story.

I cleared my throat and she crossed her hands. She really wanted me to continue. “All I know that I died saving a little girl, you. “ Her eyes showed a quick sign of remorse. ”Then the man in the moon, Manny, spoke to me. Told me that I am reborn as Jack Frost.” She was about to say something but i knew what she was wondering already. “Yeah, weird, huh? There actually has been the Spirit of Winter for many hundreds of years. Some sort of ghost. Manny asked him to enter my dead and cold body, to materialize inside of me. Normally spirits and so called future guardians take over live souls. Something went wrong and I woke up with amnesia.”

She was scanning me with her eyes, trying to figure out if she should believe me or not to. Her gaze made me feel embarassed, almost like being naked in front of her. Well, I practically was without the source of my powers, my staff that was now laying on the floor. Her hand was now pinching my chin and she stared me into my eyes. “You are not lying?” I shook my head from side to side.

Suddenly I drop to floor. My clothes were wet since the ice had melted. “Take it away!” She sounded demanding. ”Whoa! Hey, Calm down! Take what away?” I was still trying to get up after the fall. “The curse,” she said with a whisper. Did she really think that I could do it? Her eyes were filled with desperation.

”I am sorry Elsa,” I messed my hair which I did a lot when I was feeling stressed. ”The thing is that I just can’t undone something that I haven’t done. Besides.. I don’t think that it is a curse,” I smiled, ”I think you have a gift.”

POV Elsa

What is wrong with this guy? All those years I wished that Jack Frost would come and take the curse away. Now he can’t? And he is the same boy who rescued me back then? My head started to spin and made me lose my balance. The sound of wind blew next to my ear and I realized that Jack caught me before I hit the ground. “So this is how you avoided my attack back at the ice castle? Using wind?” He nodded and smiled, ”Yeah. I guess I did. ”

He was still holding me against his chest and I quickly got back on my feet. “Why did you leave? I mean before?” He chuckled, ”I never left. Sorry that I couldn’t help you, it is hard when people don’t see you if they don’t believe in you.” This is odd, how could I have seen him.

“How did I see you at the castle then?” He took a moment to think, ”I guess because you believed in Jack Overland who I used to be?” How would I know, why is he asking that from me.. ”Now you saw me since you thought that Jack Frost was here which is true,” he smirked.

“This is almost..” I started and he continued, ”unbelievable? Yeah, I know. You are the first adult who saw me. Besides of other guardians of course. ” Then I remembered something which made me go to my cabinet. I pulled an item out from there, it was wrapped in cloth. I threw it at him, ”Here, take it.”

He had a curious look when he removed the cloth. He examined the item in his hands. “A shoe?” he seemed confused. ”Yeah, Anna took the other pair.” He scratched his chin with his front finger. ”You don’t remember your shoes? That is all that was left to be found when.. y-you.”

“Oh,” he just said it and nothing more. “Speaking of remembering,” he started, “mind helping me out a little?” he winked his right eye. “How could I help you?” His hand was suddenly resting on my shoulder, “I want to know who I was.” His voice sounded desperate and hopeful at the same time. "How could I help you with that?" He smiled faintly to my curiousity. "You know more about me than I do," he whispered.
