21 The Dark Cloud
POV Elsa
I am diving inside of my closet. This will be our second date this week, one week after I cancelled my wedding with Naveen. Jack will be here soon. I go to my mirror and look at my reflection while placing the dresses over my body. No, no and no. I sigh and dive inside the closet once again.
Nothing seems to be good enough from all of my dresses. I sat on the floor and lean my head against my hand. Jack is coming, my Jack. “What I am going to wear?” I whine to myself and suddenly I hear a chuckle above me. “How about one of your ice dresses?” I glance up and see Jack smirking happily, floating in the air.
I gasp, “How long have you been here?” He laughs, “Long enough.” He lands in front of me and offers me his hand. I rise up with my own help and tell him to turn around. He shrugs his shoulders and smiles to me, making my heart flicker.
Quickly I imagine an ice dress shaded in purple this time, A-line and without sleeves, exposing my shoulders. It shimmers from the frost after I created it. “Now you can look,” I whisper to him and he turns around . At first he stares at me mouth open and then his eyes narrow from his happy smile that make his eyes shine. “You’re beautiful like always,” he says warmly and my cheeks feel like they would set on fire in a matter of seconds.
“You’re so quiet today,” he pinches my cheek and laughs to me. I slap his hand away and show him my tongue, “Stop messing with my head Frosty.” He opens the door to me and we go to the corridor. In silence we walk to the stairway and downstairs. I nod my head to some of my servants politely as we pass them.
Fast steps hear behind of me, “Elsa!” It is Anna, sounding like her cheerful self. I turn around and see how she goes through Jack and Jack’s hands grab the railing. When people pass through him I see how vulnerable he really is, like being lost. He looks down and seems being hurt, hurt for the fact that only I can see him and some children. “Hi Anna!” I smile to my sister who has crossed the middle way of her pregnancy.
“Would you want to go to a party with me today? Our cousin Punzie will have a baby shower and I wish you would come with me?” She smiles excited. “No Anna, sorry,” is my short response. I just can’t do it. Why people have kids? Their children might be miserable and alone no matter what they do.
Anna rolled her eyes and exhaled, “You’re not fun at all!” My heart just crushed. I am not fun. She left back to her bedroom and I stare after her. “Just kidding Elsa! See you later and don’t miss my baby shower!” She yells happily while walking. I am not fun, I am me. I am me who has nothing good inside. Jack touched my shoulder, “Let’s go.” He nods his head at the end of staircase downstairs. I startle when he touches me.
I walk downstairs and my heart is killing me. I feel insecure again, not certain that I will be good for him. He is the fun, I am the misery. He is opening the doors to me so I can go outside. He laughs and smiles happily. His white teeth are showing as well as his loving eyes. How can I be so selfish?
He floats above me as we walk through the castle garden. “So, what would you like to do Elsa?” He sounds too happy for being with me. He doesn’t realize that being with me will kill his core, his center being fun and joyful, cheering other people. My presence will destroy him, children will lose their fun times.
“Let us walk,” I respond to him coldly. Maybe I can get him to leave me if I act cold and cruel to him. Or maybe it will happen if I ignore him? Oh god, he just landed next to me and is really walking. “Fine, didn’t know that you don’t like me flying to places,” he chuckles.
We reached the forest and as we are walking between the old, tall trees I see how Jack is looking at me many times nervously. I keep my eyes forward and lift my chin, walking with grace. We are not talking, my heart is twisting. Hurting him, that is all I can do.
Coldness is forming close to my hand and for my shock I see that Jack is reaching his hand onto mine. Quickly I cross my arms around my body, making it impossible for him to hold hands. Perfect.
He stops walking. “Elsa,” he says and his voice breaks down. I stop and won’t turn around, I don’t want him to see my tears. “Are you avoiding me?” He whispers and I am trying to swallow my tears away. “Please, talk to me? You can tell me anything.” The coldness is now behind of me, even I can feel it in the middle of summer. His whole body radiates the coldness of winter.
“Go away!” I gasp and my world shatters. ”Never! What is wrong?” He pleaded from me, wanting to know, wanting to understand. He needs to know. “I will destroy you.”
Jack stays quiet. I glance over my shoulder and he is holding his stomach with his other hand and his other hand is covering his mouth. He is laughing, I glare at him angrily and he can’t hold it anymore. His laughter fills the silence, tears of laughter run on his cheeks. “Y-you destroying me?” He chuckles.
”Seriously Elsa, we’ve been through this,” he wipes under his eyes with his front fingers. “You cannot hurt me, I am the Spirit of Winter. My powers of winter protect me from your cool powers. ” He smirked.
I watched the ground, “that is not what I meant.” His laughter ends and he jerked his head to right, glaring at me. “Please continue,” his words pierce my heart. “Well. You’re the fun, I am the misery. My core is about darkness and fear. The misery lives in me. My presence is a slow poison for you,” I burst into tears.
Jack is walking closer to me and with fearful eyes I watch at him. He isn’t smiling or laughing, he just stands there. Suddenly his arms go around me and he bends my head against his shoulder. “I am always here with you Elsa,” he whispers and pets my back. All the bad feelings come out off me as I cry my pain away to his chilly hoodie.
“You won’t destroy me, don’t push me away my love,” Jack whispers and kisses my forehead. He is suppressing my powers, normally my feelings would have exploded from me unintentionally at times like this. “The fun in you will die with me. Leave me so you won’t lose yourself,” I close my eyes and get ready for him leaving me forever.
He backs up and stares at me. The moments I just stand there waiting for our end are killing me inside. “Are you crazy?” He exhales. I lift my eyes and watch him, he looks at me smiling. His hands took a hold of mine. “Without you I feel miserable , I mean don’t you remember that last winter was not so good? Well, I think that it was happening because I lost the fun in me when you made me go away from you.”
“Oh!” He continues, “You will never destroy me. We will be together always, no matter what,” He smirks and I smile to him. “Maybe you’re right Jack. Maybe you’re the one who is changing me actually,” My cheeks are turning red. “Maybe you will help me be more open and fun?” He nodded to me.
“I am not perfect man or spirit but I will do my best,” Jack winked his eye to me and I giggled to him. I feel warm inside when I am with him. “May I?” He smirks cockily and waits for my respond. ”Umm, I guess but -, ” before I could finish he lifted me to his arms. “You’re loving this Frosty'? Aren’t you?” I laugh to him and he jerked his head giving his mischievous smirk. “Well, let’s assume that I am. What will you do about it?” He chuckles and I try to reach his head with my hands, trying to mess his hair that I have grown to love even though it is a bit long.
“Kiss me,” he whispers and stares at me with dreamy gaze. His words surprised me and my cheeks are burning up. His looks changed to anxious. “Uh! At least touch me!” He said sarcastically and I poked his nose with my finger. “Nice,” he smirked with sarcasm. “Favor returned!” He laughed and he tried to nip my nose but I placed my lips there instead. It was a quick kiss but it left him speechless.
“Put me down Jack,” I whisper to him. He let me go and I sit on the grass. There are leaf trees and their leaves are waving in the air as I sit. I pat my lap and glance at Jack, “Lay down,” I smile to him. The blush in his cheeks is really nice, he lays down and I lift his head onto my lap. My fingers go through his hair. We look into each other’s eyes and his smile made me to smile. I am holding him in this forest, the same forest that has the pond were we met first time. “I will be with you Jack, as long as I can,” my hand now brushes his cheek and he closes his eyes. “That gives me joy Elsa, so much happiness,” he exhales.
3rd person POV
In the meanwhile a dark shadow is sneaking in the darkness, using narrow streets and alleys to get to his destination. The rain has made his cape soaking wet and heavy, his face is hidden behind of the hood he has in that cape. He doesn’t care that his feet are wet and cold as he walks forward.
His goal makes him go no matter how he feels. At some times he stops to just to look over his shoulder, checking out that no one is following him. He laughs with satisfaction, coldly, when he sees the end of his journey.
“The house of Lovia – Spells and Potions for dark purposes.” He reads the sign before entering. A beautiful black haired woman is sitting behind of the counter, smoking her pipe. The man startles when a single crow cries next to him as he enters. The woman opens her eyes when the door closes and the bell attached to the door rings.
“How may I help you?” The woman is chirping. Her hand is rubbing her chin and her dark red eyes made the man shiver. Her gaze goes through your eyes to your soul. She leans onto her counter and grins deviously.
“I am looking for someone,” the man says with grace. He pulls the chair out in front of him and sits on it with his legs open wide. He is cocky and arrogant in some ways. His clothes are dripping and the floor is getting wet. The woman looks at the sight with annoyance.
The man leans forward. “Wench! Didn’t you hear that I am looking for someone!” He reaches to his pocket and throws a small bag to table. “I will pay fairly,” he says with satisfaction.
“So who are you looking for?” Woman is going through the bags contents. She is looking at a gold coin with dreaming look. With this she would have enough money to buy a bigger store.
“I need to find Lovia, the potion and spell master of darkness,” man sounds mischievous and the woman is staring at him. “You don’t say?” Her eyes go back to the bag.
“Yes, I need to see Lovia the Bringer of Death!” The man hits his fist to table and making the crow cry again but this time of fear and not from the fact that someone entered at the store. The woman stood up. “You’re looking at her mister, how may I help you?”
The man sighed in relief. “I have traveled a long journey. I need your help,” he whispered to Lovia. Lovia nodded to him and told him to follow her.
“What type of help you need?” Lovia sat to a chair in the middle of a room. The room was filled with bookcases that contained dark magic. Leather covered and old looking books were all around. Dust was floating in the air that was lightened by dozens of black candles. Her crow flew to her shoulder and sat on it. The crow was now staring at the man.
“I need a tool for revenge. I need someone to lose something that he or she loves for forever, I want to make someone die,” The man said happily while watching a skull on Lovia’s table.
Lovia pointed the man to come to her. “Here,” She said pulling out a small box.
“How will that help me?” The man said with surprised voice.
“Open the box near the person you want to revenge and soon the dark cloud inside of it will take care of the rest,” Lovia said to the man who took the simple looking box from her. The man looked at the box with shining eyes before stuffing it inside of his pocket. The sight made Lovia to laugh, laugh at the excitement of the man.
“I will get you now,” the man whispered coldly and stepped outside the shop. Rain was still ongoing and he jumped over a puddle and was making his way now towards Arendelle.
