With the small ounce of strength that remains within her, the woman pushes one last time until her baby is finally revealed to the world. The doctor stood in front of her with the small infant crying in his arms.
A nurse quickly rushed to his side to help clean the baby who was still covered in blood after the doctor cuts the umbilical cord that attaches itself between the baby and the mother.
The lady's husband who was holding her hand tightly throughout the entire time leans in close to her and whispered sweet nothings into her ear.
He caresses her soft tear stained cheek to comfort his exhausted wife. After minutes of trying to catch her breath and tears drying away, the doctor returns to the couple with their newborn child now sleeping in his arms.
"Congratulations, it's a baby boy!" he cheered, handing the baby to the mother. The lady and her husband stares down at their newborn with loving and tender eyes. "H-He's so beautiful," the woman sobbed before she felt a kissed on her temple by her husband.
"What are we naming him darling," the husband asked her, she looks at him with her doe crystal blue eyes before turning to look back at her child.
"Seokjin. Kim Seokjin."
~1 year later~
"KIM HECKING SEOKJIN! WHERE IN THE LOVING GRACE OF MAMA MARY ARE YOU?!" Seokjung exclaimed.
He runs around checking every corners of the house, looking for his little brother that seemed to have vanish the second he took both eyes off of him.
He even sniffed the air twice for the scent of his dongsaeng, but to no avail, he still couldn't find Seokjin.
"Mom and dad is gonna kill me!" Seokjung falls to his knees while grabbing onto his hair distressingly.
Seokjin was right BEHIND him, he only took his eyes off the baby for TWO seconds.
Sure Seokjin already knows how to walk, but there is no way his tiny legs could get him out of sight in that little span of time.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck," Seokjung cursed as he was close to tears if he didn't find Seokjin this instant. He then hears a car beeping outside and he felt like his body went numb.
Seokjung quickly runs to the window peaking through the curtains to see that their parents have arrived. "SHIT," he squeaked and backed away from the window.
The sounds of footsteps could be heard making their way up the steps of the porch, and then the sound of keys jingling as the front door opens.
Seokjung freezes in his spot looking at his parents entering the house with a bunch of groceries.
His dad was the first to take notice of his soulless expression, "Son?" Seokjung doesn't respond.
His mom then looks at him with a worried expression, "Seokjung honey is something wrong," she asked her son who looked lifeless.
"A-Ah u-uhh-uh," was all their oldest son could stutter out.
Seokjung was terrified as hell to tell his parents, but his thoughts of fear were interrupted when a stuffed animal collided softly to his head.
He looked to his right to see Seokjin standing five feet away with grinning up at him. In that moment Seokjung could feel a heavy weight lifted off his shoulder and sighed in relief at the sight of his baby brother.
"Aww Seokjin-ah, don't throw stuff at your hyung," their dad playfully scolded Seokjin, picking him up and giving a peck on his youngest son's cheek.
Seokjung felt a hand gently placed on his broad shoulder, he turned to look at his mom who looked back at him with amusement.
"You lost sight of him didn't you," she giggled, Seokjung didn't say anything but to nod his head quietly.
"Heh, don't feel bad. Just remember, your father did worse by losing Seokjin when he first learned how to crawl," she laughed out causing Seokjung to snicker.
"The kid's sonic I'm telling ya Seoyoon," Namjung joked making them laugh including baby Seokjin who doesn't know what he's laughing about but just went with it.
"Now come on it's time to celebrate Seokjin's birthday!" Namjung cheered.
The other two cheered as Seokjung helped his mom carry the groceries to kitchen while his dad places Seokjin in the high chair.
His mom then approaches them with a small light blue designed box, and takes out a beautifully decorated chocolate cake with strawberries on top.
She places a candle formed into the number 2 and lits up the top with a lighter. They all proceeded to clap their hands in unison and sang the birthday song in Korean.
"Okay baby blow the candle," she moves the cake closer to Seokjin who blows out the tiny fire with the help of his dad.
They all cheered and clapped their hands, as Seoyoon began to divide the cake in even slices with a spatula.
"Hope for many more happy birthdays to come!" Namjung raised his glass of water followed by the other two raised their glasses after, "woo!" they cheered.
And the evening went by with the Kim family enjoying the celebration of their youngest's birthday.
Meanwhile in another part of South Korea...
An underground lab lies just under an abandoned warehouse. A bunch of genius criminals worked together into completing an experiment.
Above them, Kim Jaechul, a man who no longer thinks sane, stares at his finished product being mass produced into small test tubes.
He smirks when one his henchmen approaches to him with one of the test tubes in hand. Jaechul takes the object starring proudly at what he created, and breaks down into a fit of insane laughter.
"This...IS IT," he evil laughter echoed throughout the walls of the lab.
With enough DNA samples from numerous omegas he captured and tortured to death, he finally found a way to eliminate the entire omega population.
"We'll test it out today and tomorrow, and then...," a creepy smile made its way up to his wrinkled face.
"Let hell break lose."
~2 days later~
"Breaking news, their have been many cases reported about the sudden deaths of several omegas in Seoul. Police say they haven't found any evidences yet to the cause of these incidents. Similar to these events, 40 more omegas in the U.S. experienced the same faith, and about more than 80 in Germany," the broadcaster said.
"Oh my gosh what is going on," Seoyoon said in a low voice as she and her husband watched the news.
Namjung suddenly feels very worried for his family, who were all omegas except for him who's a beta.
"The government announced that if more cases keep being reported by Friday, we'll be put on lock down until they can find the source of what's causing these tragic deaths. Back to you Suhyun," Namjung takes the remote in an instant to turn off the TV.
He breathes out a shaky breath before turning to look at his wife with a small smile on his face, "lets call it a night, yeah," he said trying to mask out his nerve-racking scent with exhaustion.
Seoyoon didn't say anything but nodded her head. She let her husband take her soft hands into his rough ones as she was lead up the stairs and walked down the hallway.
Before the two could make their way into their bedroom, they stopped by their sons' room giving them each a gentle kiss on the forehead while they slumber peacefully.
They now went inside their own bedroom tucking themselves under the king size duvet and turn the bedside lamps off.
Namjung turned to his side finding it difficult to rest with the thought of his family's well being in mind.
He stayed wide awake for about ten minutes until he felt a slim arm circle around his waist.
"Don't worry, we're going to be fine okay," his wife whispered reassuringly to him.
He just stayed quiet in response, "goodnight love," Seoyoon whispered before she fell asleep followed by Namjung soon after.
The next day seemed pretty normal, nothing too alarming to ruin a calm day. That is until the clock strike exactly at 12 in the afternoon.
Namjung sat behind his office desk, going over some documents and important papers. An emergency notification then pops up on his computer screen startling him.
He clicks on the notice as it opens up a new window with South Korea's live news on air. Namjung watches and listens intently to what's being reported.
"This is an emergency for all omegas! The law enforcement and CDC confirmed of a new infection going around and harming the health of our fellow omega community. Please stay home, wash your hands, DO NOT eat grocery store foods, and please wear a face mask to avoid getting caught by the virus--."
Namjung didn't bother to turn off his computer and immediately rushes out his workplace to find everyone in panic mode.
One by one all the omegas walking down the streets started to drop dead like flies.
Some were violently coughing up blood, while others' eyes loses their color right before they died.
Their mates kneeling beside them, crying or howling in pain at their now dead lovers.
Namjung could feel something tightening in his chest, as he quickly runs past the dead omegas on the parking lot until he reached his car.
He got inside the vehicle and drove away onto the road at high speed, doing his best to not crash into another car.
The man finally arrived at his son's school were more dead bodies were seen on campus. Namjung stared in terror at all the lifeless students and teachers.
He feared the worst that perhaps his beloved Seokjung could be one of these students. Namjung swiftly gets out of the car and ran inside the school building.
Thank god he remembered Seokjung's schedule as he went to look in each and one of his classes.
The hallway had betas sobbing on the floor next to the diseased omegas, meanwhile some alphas were trying to give CPR as an attempt to save them.
Namjung pushes past them until he bursts his way through one his son's classes. His eyes rapidly looking around the bloody room.
He then finally sees a very familiar figure limping their way towards him. Namjung looked down to his son who literally looks like a zombie.
His eyes no longer having that warm summer brown town to it, his skin very pale unlike the light beige color it once had.
Seokjung had blood running down his mouth and nose, and more blood staining on the collar area of his school uniform.
"Seokjung!" Namjung runs over to him and embraces his son with tears in his eyes.
"A...A-ppa," more blood spat out his mouth after Seokjung spoke up.
"You're going to be alright son! Appa's here," Namjung kept in a hiccup as he carried Seokjung like a baby, and ran out the building towards his car.
He gets inside with Seokjung and proceeds to drive at the same high speed as earlier to their house.
Namjung ran up the steps with Seokjung in his arms and kicked opened their locked door.
"SEOYOON!" Namjung screamed after he placed his son's vulnerable frame on the couch. He called out to his wife again but still no response.
The pain in his chest tightened even more with the silence going around the place. He started to run into each room looking for his dear wife and youngest son.
"Seoyoon!" He yelled again, and yet still no answer.
He ran towards the kitchen realizing he hasn't checked there yet. The moment he stepped a single foot into that area, everything around him seem to have froze in place.
There he stared at his wife on the floor with blood running down her mouth. Her eyes slightly open but clearly had no sign of life in them.
Under her was Seokjin who was wrapped in her arms, as if Seoyoon was trying to protect him.
Namjung's breath hitched as he slowly walked towards them with trembling legs. He fell to his knees and gently took Seokjin away from her grasp.'
The man looked at his dead wife with no emotion on his face. "Seoyoon..." a single tear then runs down his cheek.
In that moment, Namjung felt his world crashing down on him, like there was no hope for him now.
That is until he could hear a low whine coming from below him. Namjung looked at Seokjin his arms who starred back at his father with tired blue eyes.
Namjung could clearly hear the shallow breaths coming from his son, but it was enough to fill him up with hope again.
He wasted no time into pulling Seokjin closer to his chest, and hid the baby under his jacket.
Namjung took looked over to his dead wife one more time, giving her a last kiss on the cheek before closing her eyes.
He quickly stood up running back to the living room, going to the couch where Seokjung laid.
But just like Seoyoon, he was.....
Namjung looked at his oldest son that seem to be getting blurry in his vision. He lets out a low sob and wiped his tears away.
Namjung walked towards Seokjung, placing a light kiss on his forehead like he did with his wife. "I'm so sorry," he whispered out, voice filled with regret and sadness.
He leaves the house right after, getting inside his car as he starts up the vehicle. Namjung knows where he has to go in order to save his Seokjin.
He has a close friend working with the government and CDC, hopefully he could help.
Namjung glances over to Seokjin who was sleeping on the passenger's seat.
"Hang in there Seokjin, appa will get help soon."
