Chapter 5: Fun Mornings
"Okay so you press this button to go forward and this one to go backwards," Micah spoke in Spanish. He was sat down with Axel while trying to show him how to use his toy remote car.
"Okay!" Axel exclaimed and took the controller. He tried pressing the buttons while sucking on his finger. But the car didn't move much.
"Why no?" Axel began to whine and shake the controller.
"Is it not working?" Micah asked, trying to see what's wrong.
Axel shook his head and tried pressing it again. The car still wouldn't move, and he grew frustrated and threw it down. He began crying out loud and so Micah picked up the controller and car.
Axel came back to him and leaned on his shoulder, watching him fix it. He sucked on his pacifier while tugging on one of Micah's coils. Micah smiled and rubbed his cheeks.
It was so much fun having a son to do things with Micah thought. He had forgotten what this felt like as it seemed like such a long time ago. Such a long time that the last was probably when he was around five.
He then opened the lid under and realized that the batteries weren't pushed in properly.
"No wonder it wasn't working," Micah muttered and pushed it back in.
"There you go, it should work now." Micah handed him back his toy and he settled it down. Axel again pressed the button and the car zoomed forward. He squealed and ran after it.
"It fix!" He exclaimed as the pacifier rolled out of his mouth, "It fix, it fix!"
Micah ran after him, and they followed the car like chain of trains. The little driver zoomed all around the living room like it was trying to run away from them.
"Try getting it to come back to you using the remote," Micah said.
"How?" Axel mumbled, slowing down a bit and using the remote.
"Press down and make it come to us so you don't have to go and pick it up." He stood behind and watched Axel fiddle with it.
"Do you want me to do it?"
Axel shook his head and Micah watched as he tried doing it himself. The car reversed its backside a little but at a snail-like pace. Axel was struggling a little and kept shaking the stick.
"Here, I can get it back." Micah tried reaching for it, but Axel moved it away and for a moment, he was almost going to shout at him due to his growing impatience, but he decided against it as he didn't want to upset him. He wanted to be a better parent than his own father.
Axel eventually went and got it himself. He lifted it up in the air and cheered, "I got!"
He ran back and waved it in the air, "Daddy, I got!"
"Well done, buddy!" Micah high-fived him and then gave him a big hug.
Suddenly, Mariana came through the door in with Elisa.
"Hey guys, what are you doing?"
"Hey Mari, we were just playing with this car."
"Aw, that's nice, I just painted Elisa's nails while she was on the potty." She brought her forward who showed off her sparkly toes.
"Do you like my nails daddy?" Elisa sweetly asked.
"Yes, they are lovely princess." Micah smiled down at her.
"Thanks!" Elisa exclaimed and then stood in front of Axel, "do you like them Axel?"
"Pwetty!" He said and tapped them like a xylophone.
"I feel like a professional," Mariana said, doing a chef's kiss.
"You are, they look so cute," Micah said as he got up. "Anyway, now that your done, I'm going to go shave and have a shower."
"Okay, I'm just going to put Elisa and Axel to bed," Mariana said and bent down to pick him up. "Come here my sweet baby!"
"Mommy, I—I wanna stay," Elisa mumbled.
"You wanna stay with daddy?"
"Yeah..."
"Elisa, if you go to bed now, I'll make you lucky charms and gingerbread men and then we can watch cartoons together, how does that sound?" Micah said.
"Um, okay," Elisa said and gave him a hug before holding onto Mariana's hand.
Mariana took them both to their bedrooms and kissed them goodnight. Then she changed into a bathrobe and dashed to the bathroom in a frisky mood. She wanted to join Micah in the shower and slowly opened the door, and got a glimpse of his back from the steamy fumes that stained the shower.
She silently walked while the robe slowly slipped away. He was scrubbing his body, and she started giggling as he was completely unaware when she playfully grabbed his butt.
"Hi baby!" She exclaimed, taking him completely by surprise. He yelped and backed away while turning to her with eyes filled with terror.
"Mariana! Why did you grab my ass?"
"Because I felt like it." She shrugged while smirking. "Also you always do that to me."
"No I don't..." he said, but his eyes couldn't look at her while saying that.
"Really? Sure you don't. Look me in the eyes and say you don't like doing that?" Her eyes traveled up to meet his.
He was about to reply but started stuttering and instead, stared at the ground while squeezing his washcloth.
Mariana chuckled and got the shower gel. She squeezed some onto a washcloth and started scrubbing herself.
"So, you wanted to come shower with me?" He smirked, taking a step closer.
"Of course! Why else am I here? You can't have a shower without me."
"Really? Why's that?" He continued smirking as he soaked his own washcloth.
"Because I'm your shower buddy." Mariana smiled innocently.
"Hmm okay." He shrugged but was still amused.
"So, how was your day?" She started scrubbing under her armpits.
"It was good! Axel and I had fun. Even though I almost yelled at him, I didn't."
"Aw, that's good. I'm proud of you. I just took the kids to the park, and Elisa made a new friend. I also met her mother whose name is Mona, and she seems pretty cool."
"Maybe they can be childhood best friends, like Elisa and Axel with Mateo." Micah chuckled and sprinkled some water onto her.
"I would love that because those kind of friendships are so cute." Mariana sighed happily.
"Same."
"Oh yeah, I also had a fight today."
"Let me guess. Someone made you angry and then you slapped and screamed at them. And for bonus points, you spat at them?"
"How did you know?" She started laughing.
"Because you, my angel, are crazy when you get angry." He lifted up her chin, as his captivating hazel spheres smiled down at her.
"True, but she insulted our daughter and her sons didn't say sorry for what they did." She folded her arms in protest.
"Oh, in that case, well done." He high-fived her. She giggled and continued scrubbing herself. She also told Micah to turn around, so she could scrub his back.
She loved feeling his muscles flex behind. She tiptoed and then squeezed his neck because she knew he was ticklish there.
"Micah my baby, you seem a little tense, relax," she murmured softly.
"Oh don't worry Mari, I'm not."
"Good, I don't want my baby stressed." She smiled and handed him back his washcloth before continued with herself.
Micah turned around, and watched her silky hair slip over her breasts like a graceful waterfall, her wet eyelids had little droplets falling smoothly off them, and that shy smile that accompanied her adorable blush.
He couldn't take his eyes off her. It was like she was a rare flower being watered by the abundant rains, and made to bloom by the glorious sun.
"Here, allow me." He came up behind her, took the washcloth and began massaging her shoulders and slowly kissing her neckline. The soapy water slithered down her graceful body slowly as they got sprained with steamy, summer showers.
He purred into her ear, making her moan out and leaned onto the shower doors. She cursed under her breath as his hand snaked round her neck and forced her head to look up at him. Her heart palpitated while her whole face burned under his desirous, heavy gaze. His lips formed a devious smirk as he slipped his tongue around hers.
She kissed him passionately as he held her close to his chest and close to his heart, just like on their wedding night. At first, she was extremely nervous because she didn't know what to expect, but Micah made her feel so comfortable and didn't rush her into anything until she was settled and felt secure.
In her opinion, that night was when she lost her virginity, and this night was no different as he impaled her against the shower.

When Mariana came downstairs with Axel, she found Micah and Elisa sat down on the floor, watching Dora the explorer and eating lucky charms. Her hair was in two plaits, top and bottom, with sliver bobbles tied at the ends. She was fashionably dressed in a black shirt and camouflage pants.
"Hey guys," Mariana said.
"Hey gorgeous." Micah blew her a kiss, but was mainly focused at the TV.
"Wow Elisa looks so pretty today," she said as she placed Axel down in his high chair.
"Yeah, I did a little style on her and then got her lucky charms."
"Aw. She looks so happy and cute."
Elisa grinned at her, swishing her plaits along. "Ita sometime call me little Bonita."
While they were doing that, Mariana prepared some oatmeal for her and Axel. She mixed in a little banana and placed it in front of him with a plastic spoon and started feeding him.
When he was all done, Mariana wiped around his mouth. "Good job my little baby, you finished everything."
He smiled and then started sucking his thumb. "Mama, animal cack."
"You want your animal crackers? Okay, I'll get it for you." Mariana got it from the kitchen drawers and then put it into a small box for him to take.
"Tanks mama," Axel said and started eating it while watching the TV.
Mariana watched his fluffy face eat up each cookie and then she got the sudden idea to mess with him a little bit.
While a cracker was in his hand, she gently took it and then ate his precious treasure in front of him. A smirk accompanied her face that said: I just ate your food, now what are you gonna do about it?
He inclined his head back; lips frozen open in shock like: girl you did not just—
Mariana chuckled and then opened her mouth wide, like she was expecting him to give her another but he just stuck his fist into his mouth. He was not having it.
He picked up a cracker and was about to munch when Mariana tugged his hand away, trying to steal another one. He fought back, and they played tug of war for the animal cracker. Mariana couldn't stop laughing as he started whining and fought fiercely.
She eventually left him alone, and he quickly ate it as if it was going to grow legs and run away.
Mariana chuckled and tousled his hair. She kissed his chubby face affectionately. He giggled and she squeezed his cheeks like they were playing a game.
When he calmed down, she went and brewed some coffee. While it was in the making, she checked her emails and realized she had to go to a pharmacy and collect some information about a product.
"Um Micah," she said, going back into the living room.
"Yeah?" He turned to face her. "What's wrong?"
"I was wondering if you could do me a favor."
"Sure, anything for you."
"Would it be possible if you could drop the kids off to your mother's place?"
"Oh sure. Do you have to go somewhere?"
"Yeah, I have to go to get some information quickly."
"Okay, I'll drop our kids off for you my special news reporter." He smiled at her.
She blushed and started chuckling, not making eye contact with him. "You know I'm only junior right?"
"Doesn't matter, still sounds important to me." He winked at her, making her laugh.
"You're so sweet." She shook her head in amusement and brought coffee to sit down with him. He put his arms over her and Elisa, bringing them closer, so they were huddled together watching Dora the Explorer.
When Mariana was all set, she kissed Micah and her kids goodbyes. Then hurriedly walked out of the house and got into her car. She sped away from the house to the location assigned to her. Summer 16 played through the radio and the wind invited itself in from the window.
When she got there, she parked outside and then got out quickly with her phone to take notes. She entered the pharmacy and approached the counter where a young woman was scuffing around the shelves.
"Excuse me." She captured their attention by her pleasant voice, but when she saw the woman's face, she realized it was Mona.
"Oh hi Mona!"
"Hi Mariana, what can I help you with?" Mona's asked, her voice soft like a dove and inviting.
"Um I've come to collect information on this new cough medicine that I heard your pharmacy was selling. It's for a newspaper I'm writing for."
"Oh really?"
"Yeah, so I gotta get some facts and pictures." Mariana held her phone and had a promising smile on.
"Okay, I'll get it out for you." Her body ducked into disappearance and then reappeared with a box.
"So you work for the newspaper?" Mona said as she put the container on the counter. Mariana started taking pictures and making notes.
"Yeah I do," Mariana replied, almost forgetting to answer.
"That's nice, are you a reporter?"
"Yeah."
"Cool! So are you going to go there now and type up what you found?"
"That's right." Mariana brightened up as she put her phone away.
"Aw that sounds nice, I think journalism is a pretty nice career. Is your workplace anywhere near here?"
Mariana shrugged and mumbled into her shirt, "Sort of."
"That's good, that means you don't have far to travel," Mona chuckled in a lighting tone, "maybe we could even meet one day and have a chat if you like."
"Yeah, seems like a nice idea." Mariana smiled to be polite, but her heart started beating fast unexpectedly. Blood of anxiety flushed her cheeks and made her head feel slightly alarmed.
"Mhm, its just a suggestion, plus our girls can have a chance to play together again," Mariana said sincerely.
"Aw yeah, Elisa would definitely love to play with Rina again."
"Tell you what, if your not doing anything later on, maybe we can get to know each other over a cup of coffee? I get off in a few hours and usually have some time before going home to see my kids."
"Er—Um—I'm not sure, I mean I can give you my number if you want to text me, and our girls can talk on the phone."
"Alright then."
Mariana wrote her number down on a piece of paper. While she was doing so, her eyes darted to the aisles in case there was anyone hiding behind them. And she couldn't escape that heart beat rapidly and made her whole body burn with anxiety.
"Anyway, I'm going to head off now, see you." Mariana waved and quickly went for the door. Her sweaty palms hastily opened it with sweaty palms as something fell from the shelf and that startled her enough to race out.
Once she was out, she walked to her car constantly checking her surroundings in case anyone was following her, even though no one was around.
She got into her car and then went to work, breathing out a heavy sigh of relief.
