Chapter 61: Thoughts and Thongs

When Mariana walked into the kitchen, she packed some popcorn into a bowl that was steaming hot and popping from the pot. She had asked the maids to make it while Micah and she played some tennis outside and now they were going to watch a movie.

"Thanks!" Mariana said breathlessly to the cook. She had sweat running down her skin, giving it a slight glow, as she filled up a glass of lemonade from the fridge. She went up the stairs with Micah and went to his bedroom. He opened his door and invited her in. She walked to his bed and flipped open the bedsheets, but before she could climb in, she screamed in horror.

"Whose is that?" She said, pointing at the racy, lacy, scarlet, seductive material laid flat on the bed like it was a giant spider.

Micah quickly ran to her and his eyes widened at the panties with no owner.

"Um... I think it's Electra's, I don't know how it got there though."

"Urgh get it away!" She crawled around it in her booty shorts, because she didn't want to touch it in case it had some nasty disease ridden all over. Seeing that dirty thing lying around made her want to vomit.

Micah got some tweezers and then got them off his bed. He then got a very dusty pan and brushed it up and dumped it outside.

Mariana sighed and then flopped her head again on one of the pillows. Micah put a small blanket over where the panties were and then sat on top of it. He then switched on his TV and turned his attention towards Mariana who had a sharp glare on her face.

"What?"

"Why is her thong in your bed?"

"Oh don't start Mariana." He sighed and rubbed his temples. Last week, when she forced him to stay with her, was annoying enough and he didn't want the same thing repeating.

"Oh, I'm sorry I wanted answers for the thong laying in my boyfriend's bed," she answered back in a sarcastic monotone.

"Mariana," he said like it was his last breath before he got annoyed, "she probably put it there while we were outside, now can we just sit in peace and watch a movie."

"Fine..." She huffed and tried to relax on the bed. She still had the popcorn in her hand and munched on a little bit.

When the movie began, Mariana could hear some groaning and some thudding against the wall from down the hall. Her face immediately scrunched up and her stomach churned as the airy, over-the-top moans flooded the air.

"Is that Electra and—"

"My brother, yes it's them."

"Urgh that's so disturbing," She slid down the bed, as her eyes became narrowed. She slowly sipped her drink with the sounds encroaching into her ear.

"I know."

Mariana started gagging like she was trying not to vomit. The only thing that comforted her was her cooling lemonade. But the noise just unsettled her so much to make her think another thing.

"Micah."

"Yeah?" He said, his finger slowly running down her curls, and his other hand fiddled with the diamond chain around his neck, as he paid attention to the TV.

"Do I sound like that?" She asked, her head pointing to the door, with Electra in mind down the hall.

"No girl, you sound perfect." He smirked and used one finger to stroke her chin softly, his voice purred into her ear, sending shivers into her body. He pulled her whole body down to him, kissed her cheek, and then kept her head between his warm palms. She rolled over so her chin poked his chest and their legs intertwined like vines around a tree. She made herself comfortable and patted his chest as he was like her pillow.

They continued watching the movie in peace, despite the horrid background noise coming from outside. Mariana had calmed down a little and finally had a smile on her as Micah kept patting her gently, his hands gradually snaked downwards until he cupped her but cheeks and jiggled them.

Mariana felt so comfortable with his cushion-like hands. It was like she was sitting on a foamy cushion. But her mind couldn't waver off Electra who was down the hall, not too far from them. She thought a bit that she was going crazy but she was certain that she could hear faint whispers of Micah's name coming from her lips.

Her fingers gripped instinctively onto the collar of Micah's shirt as she grumbled annoyingly. She hated the sound of Electra and it made her want to throw up her food. She was unable to get it out of her ear and when she looked up at Micah, an uneasy feeling crept into her stomach and heart. Hearing Electra scream the brothers' names at the top of her voice made her think of what life was like between them, and this made it hard for her to concentrate or enjoy herself if she could hear that living nightmare that hung above like a thunderstorm.

"Micah baby, I want to go home," she said, getting off his chest.

"What, why?" He asked in confusion. The movie wasn't finished yet and he didn't want her to leave yet.

"I just gotta clear my mind."

"Mariana, my precious girl," he said, his voice adorned with affection for his princess like she was a diamond. "Please stay." He held her hand like a sandwich between her palms.

Mariana looked down at him and she could see that his eyes started to flood with tears. She really wanted to stay but she couldn't stay in an environment like this.

"I'm sorry Micah," she said and then walked out of the room, leaving him feeling dejected.

Later on, when Micah needed the toilet, he went to the bathroom but before he opened the door, he heard splashes everywhere and muffled screaming as if someone was underwater. It sounded a bit suspicious and concerning so he opened the door and peeked through the crack.

He saw the back of Makayla and Mylah bent over the bath and it sounded like they had someone down.

"What are you guys doing?" He said, fully opening the door and walking in.

"Help me!" Electra's head burst out of the bubbly water, her eyes were stung with soap, staining them crimson as her face and hair were drenched. Her mascara bled a black streak down her face as she cried out.

"Stay down!" Makayla slapped her head back into the water. Mylah held her by her hair and then passed her a razor. They began shaving Electra's locks off, as they floated around the top like pasta boiling in water.

"No!" Electra screamed underwater but the only thing heard were the bubbles that popped on top.

Micah came closer and then all he could see was a shiny, bald spot the floated on top of the water. He started laughing and then slapped the top like it was a hard-boiled egg.

Makayla finally brought her out by the ear and she couldn't stop laughing at Electra's mouth wide open at her baldness. The only thing that stuck out was her purple eyeshadow that was now smudged, and her false eyelashes which started to peel off.

Mylah then started sprinkling itching powder all over her empty scalp like she was an ugly duckling doughnut. It looked like it was snowing inside as Electra started sneezing and her fingers scratched all over her face and dug into the surface of her scalp.

They then pulled her out and dumped her onto the marble floor like a sack of potatoes. She was now crying and her voice sounded a broken record.

"You guys are so mean, why would you do that? How am I supposed to go to work like this?" She looked at them through her blurred vision and continued sobbing her pathetic eyes out.

"Meh, your problem not ours." Makayla shrugged and they just all started laughing at her crying like a baby. The noise she made sounded like a siren and they just couldn't take her seriously.

"The funny thing is she can't even do anything back to us otherwise momma will kick her out," Mylah said as she snickered.

"That's not true, she can't touch me at the moment."

"Oh honey, you just have to overstep one time and she will have no problem kicking you out," Makayla said, "she don't care about you."

She then turned around and grabbed Mylah's hand. "Come, let's go grab a snack and then watch some Netflix before bed."

"Okay!" Mylah followed her out as Micah closed the door behind them before finally being able to use the toilet.

When he went downstairs, he saw his mom and dad sitting down in the living room on opposite seats. Crystal had her head down and drew something on her sketchpad while relaxing in her nightgown, meanwhile, Aidan was watching something on the TV but wanted to change the channel.

"Crystal, can you pass the remote to me?"

She didn't move or say anything but continued her drawing while humming to myself as if he wasn't there.

"Crystal, honey?" Aidan looked up but she still had her face toward the paper, while the remote still laid beside her. She didn't look in his direction and didn't seem to be listening.

"Please can you give me the remote?"

She still didn't answer so he tried again.

"Crystal—"

"What!" She shouted at him as her pencil stopped abruptly on the paper.

"Can you please give me the remote?"

She looked down and then picked it up while rolling her eyes and kissing her teeth. "You want this?" She teased it in the air. He nodded and then she suddenly placed it behind her.

"Why don't you ask Electra to come and get it, since she's so special and so perfect," she spat out of spite, anger laced in her voice, even though she didn't want to show him how upset she was. It came from the feeling of replacement which was intensified by the thought of Electra.

"Electra? Is that why you've been ignoring me all this time?" He asked. She had been giving him the silent treatment for the past two weeks and any time he tried asking her for something, she would always answer about Electra.

"What do you think?" She crossed her arms and stared straight up at him with her luscious, dark eyes that were void of any happy emotion, just anger, and bitterness.

"I'm sorry for what I said the other day. I didn't mean it like that, I promise, I only said that because of Mason," he reasoned and enveloped her hands within his.

"Aidan," she said, her face deadpanned as she straightened up her posture. "Does it look like I care?"

He awkwardly scratched the back of his head because he knew that wasn't really a good enough answer for her.

"No."

Crystal gave a silent "hmph" before getting up, almost standing at his height but just a bit smaller.

"I'm going to bed now." She tried walking away but Aidan tried holding onto her hand.

"Crystal wait—"

"Get off me!" She ripped her hand out of his grip. She still wasn't happy and didn't want to be touched right now.

Aidan backed away with his hands up. She sighed and then walked past Micah to go upstairs.

"Goodnight Mom," Micah said.

"Goodnight," she mumbled and then trudged upstairs with her head down.

Micah then looked at his dad who heaved out a heavy sigh while his hand ran down his face.

"I don't think that went too well..." Aidan said to him.

"Nope. You definitely hurt her feelings and embarrassed her."

"Yeah..." He sighed with regret and then rested his head on his palm in deep thought. "How is Mariana?" He asked to change the subject for a moment.

"Great. Thanks for asking," Micah said plainly, not making an effort to hide the sarcasm in his voice. He didn't care anymore about the rare moments his dad asked about his life, he was now used to being ostracized from ever receiving his affection.

Aidan then ushered him over with his hand. "Come sit here. I want to talk with you."

"No thanks. I'm going to bed." He was about to go up the staircase himself when his dad called him again.

"No I insist, come sit here."

Micah sighed and grumbled to himself as he went down and sat next to his dad. He began playing with his fingers because he didn't want to look at him and just wanted to get to his room.

Aidan sighed and then picked out a rose that was sitting lonely in the vase on top of the table. He started picking lightly at the petals as his solemn, sullen expression surpassed all the other emotions on his face.

"I didn't mean to make her upset... I just wanted to help Electra out and save Mason the trouble of getting up," he started mumbling but all Micah can think of why he was telling him all this as if he was his dad's therapist.

"That's nice," Micah finally said in response, he was hardly listening since he wasn't in the slightest bit interested and didn't hesitate to hide his sarcasm. Instead, he stared up at the chandelier hung above them like it was secretly listening.

"I'm sure you understand Micah, I would've also helped Mariana in the same way if that was the case."

"Um...no." He slowly shook his head. He had no idea why his father would expect him to agree because he would've helped Mariana herself if needed.

"Anyway, I hope your not in this situation one day Micah."

"Don't worry, I won't be." He knew how to treat Mariana right and he definitely knew that you should never show special attention to another woman like he did, especially if it's one your significant other hated.

Micah decided he had enough listening to his dad so he quickly got up and went upstairs.

A/N: Hey I hope you enjoyed the chapter!
