Chapter 44: Car Crash

When Mariana regained consciousness, her eyes slowly opened to the unfamiliar ceiling that laid above her. Her eyes felt like they had been pierced with a sword, as she slowly zoned around the dulled, watered-down gray tiles.

She groaned out loud as she felt a slash of flesh at the top of her head. It felt hot and inflamed as she had a terrible headache. She had been unconscious for a while, with the only thing she remembered was her car suddenly crashing into something.

There was some murmuring circling around her which worried her a little and some beeping from machines. She sat up and looked down at her body which was laid on a hospital bed. There was a biting pain around her ankle, which made her hiss in pain, and pieces of glass seeped deep into her skin, releasing a torrent of blood that alarmed her greatly.

Some doctors and nurses were in the room. Her eyes peered over at them, wondering what they were there for, until Dr. Evans came up to her.

"Hello, Miss Jones." She greeted in a nice and calming tone.

"Hello doctor, can you tell me how I got there and what happened to me?"

"You were in a car accident and someone called the ambulance."

"What..." Mariana was shocked at what she just heard. One minute she was peacefully driving around, and the next she's in a car accident and now in hospital. What was next?

Well that explained why she was placed on a hospital bed and why her leg was in great pain.

"We're going to be running some tests to see if anything is broken but in the meantime, try and get comfortable because you're going to be here for a while."

"Hm okay," Mariana mumbled and folded her arms. She wasn't happy about her new situation because she really wanted to be at home, but she'll just have to deal with it now.

When the doctors stitched her up and went to get some equipment, she laid down and stared out the window. It still looks so lovely outside, she saw some birds fly past, as their little tweets crept their way into her ears. They sounded like a melody, but this let her to release a low sigh, already feeling tired. Out of all the places that she could possibly be, it had to be the hospital.

Suddenly, the door opened, catching her attention and frightened her a little as she swiftly turned towards it.

Electra peaked her head through, her short, blonde hair flared around the little cut by her ear, as she laid eyes on Mariana. She smirked and then opened the door fully, inviting herself in.

"Well, well, well, what do we have here?"

"What are you doing here? Leave me alone!" Mariana shouted in frustration and agony seeping through her voice. She moved around the sheets, trying to get away from this demon witch.

"Look at you," Electra chuckled as she sat down gently on a chair, "such an unfortunate soul," she said sarcastically, crossing her slender tanned legs over each other. They had a nice gleam caused by the light.

"Why do you follow me around like this? You're obsessed!" Mariana screamed. How did Electra even know she was here? This was starting to turn into some stalk-ish behavior.

"Well if the food poisoning couldn't keep you away, then this certainly can." Electra smirked, looking down at her but couldn't resist laughing at her poorly state. Mariana being so defenseless somewhat amused her. At least this could hold her down for a few days, while she worked her way into Micah's arms,

Mariana grumbled, remembering all that she had been through. She then started to shout, "nurse!" as she didn't want Electra anywhere near her at this moment because she was clearly insane.

"Calm down, why are you calling for the nurse? There's no need."

"Because you're insane!" Mariana exclaimed and then tried calling for help again, "nurse!"

"Okay, okay, I'm leaving, jeez." Electra rolled her eyes, thinking that Mariana was being so over-dramatic. She stood up and prepared to go out the door.

"At least now I can go have my threesome with Mason and Micah with no one to disturb us," she said, slipping one finger in her mouth, and sliding it out slowly while moaning like it was a tasty, red lollipop.

"What!" Mariana screamed for the bottom of her lungs. She couldn't believe what she was hearing, how dare Electra says something like that! To think that she could even dream of having a threesome with her Micah, filled her with her flames to the core.

She wanted to attack Electra but due to her injury, all she could do was move around helplessly on the bed since she didn't want to fall and end up hurting herself more.

"Hmph." Electra looked at her smugly like she was proud of an achievement. Her crystal-blue eyes dazzled in the light. "Too bad your knight in shining armor ain't coming this time sweetheart."

"Shut up!" Mariana spat out like vemon. She didn't want to hear anymore nonsense spewing out of Electra's mouth.

"Why are you getting mad at me for? I'm just telling the truth," Electra said innocently, a slight blush staining her cheeks as she slowly swayed in her seat. Seeing Mariana react like this was like watching her own comedy show.

"Shut up, no you're not!" Mariana's heartbeat accelerated as she got more agitated. She felt her cheeks get puffy and heat up. Electra was really getting on her nerves and all she wanted to do was rip her face off. Just seeing her sitting in front of her and out of her reach, made her so angry.

"Okay." Electra shrugged. "But don't start crying when he doesn't come," she said and walked out, her yellow, mini-skirt bouncing around her ass, making Mariana wanting to throw up because part of her dirty underwear showed a little.

She flopped down in her head. She was so glad Electra was gone. She couldn't stand another minute with her being in the room, with her smug smile and her irritating words. There was so way she could be telling the truth.

But at least now, she could have some peace and quiet.

The next day, Mariana was still in hospital, laying on her bed and staring at her leg that now had a cast. She frowned and her eyes felt parched. She no longer felt any pain but just numbness down there.

Being stuck at the hospital felt so boring and time seemed to pass like an eternity. All she had was regular checkups and tests and hopefully, she will be discharged soon.

"Miss Jones, you have someone here to see you," a nurse said as she peeked around the door.

Mariana looked up and Leilani came in with Mateo holding a balloon and dressed in a blue-striped shirt, black shorts, and red sneakers.

"Hi, Mariana!" Leilani greeted with a big smile. She got a chair and then sat down next to her bed. She had on an off-shoulder red top, with white flowers, and it ended at her knees. Her wavy hair hid the wood of the chair as it flowed down.

"Hey Leilani, it's so good to see you." She was glad to see a familiar face in these unfamiliar walls.

"Yeah, I heard you were in an accident," Leilani said, her face full of pity as she reached out and patted Mariana's head, "pauvre toi." (Poor you).

"Yeah..." she sighed, "it's weird because the car came out of nowhere." Even though she now knew it was Electra who caused the accident since it's something that she would do, but she didn't see anybody in the car before she went unconscious, but she was very certain it was her.

"Mateo has got something for you," Leilani said.

"Really?" Mariana's smile was full of hope and joy at the sound of that. The thought of a gift from Mateo sounded so cute.

Leilani lifted Mateo towards her and he had a red balloon in his chubby, little hands. "This is for you."

"Aw thank you, Mateo." She took the balloon and then shook his little head to which he giggled.

The balloon floated peacefully above her. She attached the string to the side of her bed. Now she had something to keep her company while spending her time in the hospital.
