Chapter 3: Under the Moon
A/N: Here's her bootiful outfit!!! (I really missed doing these XD)
When the twilight of the evening intruded onto the sunny flavors of the sunset, Mariana started getting ready for her date with Micah.
She was sat on her makeup table, facing her baby blue mirror. She was wearing her sapphire blue, knee-length dress with a frill going across her chest, and gold hoop earrings with sliver heels.
She tied up part of her hair into a high bun and allowed the rest to flow down her back. She did her eyebrows and dark blue, cloudy eye shadow with mascara and light pink lip gloss. She used concealer and foundation to cover up all her freckles .
Suddenly, Rio jumped onto the table and glided his dry, bristled tongue against her small finger. Mariana smiled affectionately at him while his damp nose gently sniffed and his thin whiskers tickled her.
"Are you going to miss Mama Rio?" She rubbed his head and behind his soft ears, causing him to shake rapidly.
She continued rubbing him and he started to purr softly. She loved it when he purred, it sounded so satisfying to listen and feel.
Suddenly, her phone lit up and she saw Micah's message that he was outside. She let go of Rio and then grabbed her royal blue fluffy purse. She and hurried down the stairs and her tabby followed her hastily.
"Goodbye Rio, I love you so much." She opened the door and blew kisses to his fuzzy face.
Once she was out, a smile beamed on her face once her eyes settled on the silhouette of Micah sat in his car that blended into the night. The polished midnight tone of it reflected the twinkling stars. She rushed down her gate and opened the door to sit next to him.
"Hey!"
"Hey, beautiful." He leaned over and kissed her cheek. "You look gorgeous."
"Aw thank you." She blushed and then relaxed back into the white luxury pillow that supported her arch. "So where are we going?" She asked as the driver left her house.
"I don't want to tell you yet, just wait till we get there."
"Hmm alright," she huffed and then had a good look around the car they were in.
There was a small TV screen facing her on the opposite seat that was white as silver. Some parts illuminated a strip of cyan and between her and him was a mini-tablet.
"What kind of car is this?" She turned to face Micah who had a neat V line made by his beard which shaped his face perfectly.
"It's a Mercedes-Maybach GLS."
"Mercedes! That's my favorite brand!"
"I know, that's why I brought this car along to make you comfy."
"Aw thanks, I love it and the seats are really soft." She relaxed more due to the seat's laid back design.
She stretched out her hand and ran her little fingers through his coily beard gently. "Did you shave today?"
"Yeah, just before I started getting ready."
She hummed quietly while looking at his face. "It looks really nice and it suits you well," she purred. Her eyes were half-closed and sparkled as they settled their gaze lazily at his full lips. She pecked them and continued to fiddle with his hair. "I love this so much."
"I know you do," he said with a smile.
Ever since Micah started growing out his beard, she had become mildly obsessed with it and couldn't stop touching.
She sighed happily to herself and hugged his body, as she allowed herself to become embraced by the strong cologne that wavered around like an invisible ring. She started invading his personal space by sniffing him intensely, wanting to take more in.
"What are you doing?" He asked, slightly alarmed, and slid away.
"I just wanna smell you..." She bubbled up with giggles at how ridiculous she sounded.
"Okay, you weirdo." His lips tugged into a smile of amusement.
When they arrived at their destination, Micah thanked his driver and he soon drove off but will be returning soon when it's time.
They were now stood in an open glade. Near them was a steep hill that had an amber glow that illuminated out like a ball of fire at the top.
Micah held her hand as they hiked up the sharp rocks that spiked up like daggers through the mossy grass. The night was calm and warm. The trees slowly whispered in the wind and the full moon rose slowly in the distance.
When they finally reached the top, they faced a Korean restaurant that had Seoul Food at the top on a blackboard. They saw people eating inside the golden walls and under chandeliers that had crystals like raindrops.
"It looks so beautiful inside!" Mariana exclaimed with joy.
"I knew you would like it," he smiled, seeing his idea lit up her face like the sun.
"I wonder where we are gonna sit," she said as they strode into the place.
"Don't worry, I got a special place reserved," He said and called over a waiter. They were led away to an area that was opened up to the outside world. In the middle was a table with a grill and a single rose that flourished. The moonlight glazed on the dark pink petals, making them shine bright like an enchanted diamond.
They took a seat and started skimming over the maroon menus.
"Have you ever tried Korean food before?" Micah asked.
"Nope," she said, peering at the unusual dishes.
"Me neither, but I saw online that you can barbecue your meat here so I thought that would be a fun thing to try."
"So we are going to have to do it ourselves?"
"Yeah," he said with his face glimmering.
"Hm alright," she said with a hint of reluctance. She was feeling too lazy to do something like that herself.
When they decided on what to get, the same waiter came and took their menus. In the meantime, they were given some side dishes which were seasoned spinach, strips of bean sprouts, and spicy radish salad.
Mariana tried to use the chopsticks that were on the table to pick up the spinach. She tangled it around her tongue as she sucked it in. As the sweetness seeped down her mouth, her eyelashes fluttered up to Micah who had his gaze fixed on her. "What?"
"Nothing, I just like looking at you."
"Oh okay." She quietly giggled at his response and tried the other sides.
"How was your day?"
"It was really good, especially since I got to spend it with you." Her voice softened to an alluring undertone as the last few words slithered out of her.
Micah smiled as he remembered how they spent the rest of the day together. After he finished playing Batman, they spent some time in his indoor movie room. He could still remember her small body laid against his warm chest, how her heart softly beat in rhythm with his, how she slightly shivered against his hand rubbing her back, and how her forehead slightly tingled at his soft lips placing a kiss on them.
When their food came, Mariana had some Chicken Fried udon which was stir-fried noodles with chicken; And Micah got Chicken Bokum which was stir-fried chicken, mixed vegetables in spicy chili sauce.
He poured both of them a glass of wine, its scarlet shade swayed seductively and slowly. Mariana sipped on it and began eating her chunky noodles. It was very sweet with a slightly bitter taste but she enjoyed it.
"So how is your family doing?" She asked.
"They are good. My mom is working on a new collection."
"Really? Do you know what it is?"
"Um not really but I'm excited to see what it is."
"Me too! Can you let me know when she's finished?" Mariana asked, her eyes sparkling.
"Sure." Micah smiled over at her as he cut into his food.
They ate the sides along with their main course until the waiter came with chopped beef and pork. He helped them set up the grill and placed the beef onto it.
Mariana observed the process with her pupils dilating as she became more interested in it than before. It actually looked quite fun.
Micah got the metal tongs and slid the meat around the pan. It sizzled and gradually started to change from white to brown.
"Do you want a go?" He turned the tongs towards her.
"Sure." She took it off him and then grilled the beef. She slid it around and a smile gleamed across her face as she saw the fiery escape from the crevices. "You know what, I'm actually enjoying this."
"I knew you would like it," he said and took the tongs from her.
"Actually, in the beginning, I was a bit skeptical about this but now, I'm starting to enjoy this."
"Really?"
"Yeah, usually I prefer it already cooked but this change is nice," she chuckled.
Once the beef was cooked enough, they took some out and tried it. Mariana's face was a mixture of emotions as she chewed due to it tasting more like popcorn than grilled meat. She thought that it might've needed a bit more time before they ate it.
They moved on to the pork after they had finished the beef. It tasted better and Mariana enjoyed it more.
She continued to savor the rest of the evening with Micah, hoping it will never end.

The next morning, Mariana got dressed for work in a joyous mood. Her dinner with Micah last night made her so happy that her happiness dissolved into the next day.
She had her hair in a high braided bun and wore black leggings with a black shirt and ankle boots. She applied a bit of mascara and then wore a purple light coat.
When she was all done, she refilled Rio's bowls and they went outside together. Mariana got into her car while Rio set off on his own adventure.
When she arrived at the cafe, she greeted Elena, who had an orange headache pushing back her black curls, and put on her apron.
She stood at the back of the cashier and started serving the customers.
"Hey Mariana, can you come shopping with me after our shift?" Elena asked.
"Sure, where do you want to go?"
"I want to go get this top from this store called Sunrise Closet."
"Okay yeah, I can come with you."
"Thanks, Mari!"
"No problem," she smiled and continued serving the food.
Suddenly, a dark shadow overcame the sunlight of the wooden floor, and the frame of the entrance rattled in agitation. The light ran away from Mariana's face as the door slowly creaked open, revealing the silhouette of a dark figure.
A/N: Hey guys I'm so sorry for the late chapter! I was feeling really uninspired but now I'm back! With a little bit of writers block.
