It makes me think that you all aren't liking​ my work.

Here's another chapter.

It was another great morning. I woke up early as I wasn't able to resist my happiness. I felt like butterflies were fluttering in side my stomach. Dad was going to be back home today.

I was going to see him after almost a week. I took a quick shower. And got dressed in a nice and simple way. I took an off from the cafe because me and Evelyn, I mean Eve had decided to hang out the whole day. Just shopping and having a lot of fun.

The first thing I did was have my breakfast. So I was alone on the dining table. Mom was in the kitchen engaged in some sort of work. Mom made me pancakes.

I thought I will make it but mom insisted that she wanted to, it was dad's favourite.

So I just agreed but I must say that she was a great cook. I just loved the food made by her.

I then bid my bye to mom. She said that she will go and pick dad and so I need not worry about who was going to pick him up from the airport in the evening.

I headed towards Eve's house to pick her up from there in my car slash truck

I loved showing off my car and driving skills. I felt I was a really good driver. Atleast that's what I thought.

15 minutes later I was in front of a good looking apartment. Evelyn was rich on her own. But she had to take help of her parents to buy the apartment for herself. She liked to believe that she was an independent women. I admire her for that.

I rang the door bell. After three rings Eve came opening the door. She was already dressed for the day.

"Good morning sweet heart, how was your sleep. Did you sleep well?" I asked her, smiling weirdly at her.

"Yeah Amy, I slept really well," she replied frowning at me.

I ignored her gaze and just asked her, "Are you ready for today's plan and all the fun?"

"Wait a second, just let me finish my breakfast. Actually I'm a bit hungry right now," she said looking at me like a small kid.

I laughed at her and let her have her food. I sat on a couch in the living room waiting for her to come back.

Then my eyes fell on a painting hung on a nearby wall. It really remainded me of something. It was the picture which me and Eve made during our school days. It was a simple scenary but had many memories of us together. I was glad to know that she still had it.

My chain of thoughts were soon broken when I heard the foot steps of Eve from the kitchen. I jerked my head a bit to come back to future.

"You still had it, the painting.... I mean.... Umm... I... You...." I said, stammering a little. A sole tear slipped down my cheek when all our sweet memories flashed in front of my eyes.

"Yes, I had it, it was the last thing which I was allowed to take with me as a memory to Chicago," she replied smiling at me while coming and sitting beside me.

"I'm glad that you had it," I said smiling at her. She smiled back.

"So you done. Shell we get moving?" I said as I stood in my place.

"Looks like someone's very eager, no worries. Just give me a second, I'll get my phone and purse from my room and we can keep going," she said smiling at me furiously.

I mumbled an okay to her, and let her go.

5 minutes later she came out with a big smile on her face. When I asked her the reason behind her huge smile, her face lit up like the sun. She started to jump there like a kid with lots of joy and happiness.

I was unable to control my eagerness and stopped her from jumping and asked her to say what news she is having.

"Stop jumping and just listen to what am I asking or shall I kill you??" I said holding her arm.

"Guess what! Jack is going to come here by tomorrow morning! Actually, he thought of surprising me but it just slipped out of his mouth by mistake," she replied with a big smile on her face.

"Oh congrats Eve! So what plans?" I said feeling very happy for my best friend.

"I have a lot to do. Come let's go and just shop. I want to look my best when Jack sees me. Come let's get going. We are already late....", she kept on blabbering when I interrupted her and said, "Hold on, don't just keep talking. Come on let's go."

Then finally we left her home and headed towards the shopping mall nearest from Eve's home.

We first entered to the clothes' section and started looking for the dresses.

At first I wasn't able to decide what to pick. Then I asked Eve to help me. I showed her dresses one by one. And her reply was,
Nah, no, nope, won't look good, you look like shit, you've gotten fat.

I mean like really? I'm not fat at all!

Then finally I found a dress which actually looked nice. It was a black short dress which ended just above the knees. It just matched the colour of my eyes. I was in love with the dress.

Eve asked me to try the dress out, while in the mean time she will select few dresses for her. I agreed to her and went towards the trial room.

Few minutes later, I came out of the trial room to show my dress to the Eve. But what I saw was amazing. Eve was holding a very beautiful blue coloured dress. I thought it would look flawless on her because the colour of the dress resembled a similar shade of the colour of her eyes.

I quickly went towards her to convince her to buy the dress. But when she saw me, her mouth was left open. I thought that the dress didn't look nice on me. But she then said that the dress looked 'amaze-balls' on me and any one would fall for me at the first sight. Her words not mine.

I blushed and rolled my eyes at her complement when my eyes fell upon her dress again. I asked her to go for the dress.

She quickly agreed and we finally chose our dresses and decided to go to the counter for billing.

We paid our bills and I felt a bit hungry. When I finally thought of glancing at my wrist watch, I was dumbstruck. It was already 1:30 pm.

We decided to move to the food court. I ordered a burger with French fries.

Yes, I'm in love with burger and French fries. What's wrong in that?

And Eve just ordered a small bowl of noodles. I didn't know why she liked eating Chinese food. Anyways, depends on the taste of different people.

When we were finally done with lunch, decided to pay our bills and leave the food counter.

Our eyes got stuck on a footwear store. It had a really good collection of different types of shoes. We immediately went inside the store to buy the shoes which matched the dresses we bought.

The shop really had a good collection of shoes that we were not able to decide what to choose. Finally an hour later we found the nice pairs of shoes which matched our new dresses.

Then we went on with the accessories store. I bought a beautiful pendent and matching ear rings where as Eve went on with a pair of ear rings and a nice bracelet.

When we were done we decided to leave the place and return to Eve's home. She was staying alone so asked to me stay back for today.

This time Eve drove the car. It took us 15 minutes to reach her home.

Then her phone started to beep again. But I wasn't able to see the caller ID. She signaled me to leave the car and just wait inside her home while she will park and come.

I did as I was told. I waited for her for about 5 minutes. She came back and sat beside me on the couch. She let her head rest on the back of the couch and gave a big sigh.

"Who was on the phone?" I asked her out of eagerness.

You all know right, that I have a lot of eagerness and curiosity.

But curiosity killed the cat! My inner voice mocked at me.

Oh but a cat has nine lives! I mocked back at the voice and shut an imaginary door inside my head to block it away from me. I know I'm awesome like that.

She said, "it's Jack's friend, he called to inform that Jack will stay at his place and that I need to join him to pick him up from the airport tomorrow. At first I refused but then had to agree when he said that Jack asked me to join him."

"Oh, so your happy right?" I replied smiling at her.

"Yes, I can't wait to meet him. But would you like to join me to pick him up? You can even Meet him. Please don't say no. You have to come," she said pleading.

"But.... Okay I'll join you," I replied.

Next day we were ready to go to the airport. I stayed at Eve's home last night because she insisted a lot.

Eve said that Jack's friend was going to pick us up from her place.

Then suddenly the door bell rang.

Eve went to open the door. And to say I was shocked would be an understatement. My heart skipped a beat when I saw the person standing at the door.

It was the guy I saw at the restaurant, whom I served at my café. It was mike standing their.
