I pull the cover up him. He's fast asleep. His face was tightly pressed against the pillow and his arms were gripping each other. He's been through so much. Possession. Deception. Conception. How is this possible? I press my finger against my lip. 

I pull up a chair and crouch down. We're quite safe. However, there's not much to do but wait. Waiting... waiting for this nightmare to end. I seem to be doing a lot of waiting these days. I've always been waiting. Waiting for what exactly has been changed throughout the days. Waiting for Kira to reveal himself. Waiting for Light to help me. Waiting for Light to heal. Waiting for Light to go to college. Waiting for him.... wow. 

"Why do you care so much for this boy?" A voice says.

I almost fall out of my seat. I look down at him. His eyes were staring at me. Red bulging eyes. 

"Why do you possess Light Yagami?" I ask.

"The ultimate game." He answers.

"A game?" I ask.

"The ultimate war between me and the one who made me. Good and evil there is always a line." He says.

"You seem to think there are no shades." I say. 

"There are always lines. But going back to my question, why do you care so much for this boy?" He asks again. 

"Well, he is wounded very badly." I say.

"No... there's more." He stands up. 

"I suspect he's Kira." I say.

"No, no, no. That's not it." He looks at me.

"He's my only friend." I admit.

He stands up.

"No... I can hear your heart beating. It's quick. Are you afraid of me?" He asks.

"Yes." I say.

"Is it because I've killed so many and I'm equal to a god?" He asks. 

"No." I say.

"Do you fear my power?" He asks.

"No." I say.

"Then what?" His voice turns into a foul scream.

I stand up.

"I don't want you hurting Light." I hiss.

He stops. His eyes widen. Black ooze comes out of his nose. The red fades in his eyes. He starts falling. I grab him. He looks up at me. His eyes were wide and beautiful.

"Thanks." Light mutters.

Then we press our faces into each others.
