Darla, milkshakes, and pictures Marks point of veiw
Max was clearly very clever. Well, no, she's observant. Trust me there's a difference. I'm sure she's smart too, but I'm not positive.
I don't know what it was about this girl, but for some reason all I wanted was to talk to her for the rest of my life. She was just so...so...so perfect. Even if she had the disease, um, development, she was still absolutely amazing.
"You know you're very observant. I swear you're perfect." I told her.
"Well, thank you. I just believe that you can learn a lot if you just watch and listen," she took a sip of her soda"oh! By the way, pobody's nerfect."
"Pobody's nerfect?"
"Yeah you know. Nobody's perfect, pobody's nerfect."
"That's cleaver."
"Thanks I didn't come up with it."
"Ha. Well rather you're nerfect or not, I'm still positive that you're truly amazing."
"Only fools are positive. By the way I didn't come up with that either I got it from a movie." I laughed at that comment.
"Any other wise words that you didn't come up with?" I asked laughing.
"Oh I got tons." Max responded.
"Like what?"
"Like, um, 'Do I look like a man with a plan? You know what I am, I'm a dog chasing cars. I wouldn't know what to do with one if I caught it. You know, I just, DO things' The Joker said that."
"So on your free time you memorize Joker quotes?"
"Pretty much."
"Like I said before, marry me now."
Her and I started to laugh. I loved that girl. Her hair was the perfect shade of fiery red, her eyes were the most beautiful blue.
The waitress came by and asked if we were ready for the check. Max told her that we would like one milkshake with three straws then she winked at me.
"Why three straws?"I asked.
"You'll see." Max replied. When the waitress came back with our milkshake and straws, Max scooted closer to the wall in our booth, and patted the seat next to her signaling the waitress to sit with us.
"Evening Darla. How ya doing." Max said.
"I'm fine thanks. How are you." Darla responded.
Darla was about the same age as we were. She had long hair that was died blood red. She was wearing an old fashioned blue waitress dress. She had black eye liner on that made her look dark. Her hair was put in a braid that she had pulled over her shoulder. She also had tiny little freckles. I have to admit that she was quite attractive.
I decided to look into her eyes like Max was talking about. Darla's eyes looked tired. She looked done with life.
"Hello Darla. I'm Mark. I'm Max's date." I introduced myself. Darla turned to Max.
"Ooooo the famous Mark you told me about. So you guys are finally going out? Max get over there with him I want a picture." Max made her way over and sat next to me. Her and I both started to drink the milk shake.
After Darla took the picture, Max scooped up some of the whip cream off of the milkshake, and put it on my face. Right on my nose. In response I scooped more up than she did and put it on her nose. Her and I stared at each other seriously. Then we just started laughing.
What I didn't know was that Darla was taking pictures the whole time. One of my favorite pictures from that day was when Max and I were kissing. Whip cream on our faces and all.
