I observed Gaara and he doesn't seemed dangerous like what my friends told me.

"Yeah, he's a monster." Kyle added.

"That's true. That's why no one wants to be his friends because everyone are so scared of him and he was always alone." Jane exclaimed.

I don't believe them at all. He seems harmless. He doesn't look like a monster either.

"Come on, are we going to talk about how dangerous and scary Gaara is all day or play soccer?" Loius asks and we all returned at playing soccer.

We were having fun when Niall accidentally kicked my ball so hard that it went on top of the big wall that was made of sand.

"Look what you done Niall! Now we can't play." Jane complained.

"How are we going to get it down? That's so high for us especially when we're only kids and doesn't know any ninja techniques yet." Oscar rolled his eyes when all of the sudden, my soccer ball moved then it was surrounded by sands.

It then slowly went down and it landed to a boy's hand... Gaara. Gaara stared at my ball with sadness in his eyes then he looked at each one of us and he wanted to give the ball to us. All of my friends then freaked out, started yelling then run away.

"AHH! IT'S HIM!" Oscar.

"THE MONSTER!" Jane.

"RUN AWAY!" Louis.

"HE'LL KILL US ALL!" Kyle.

"IT'S THE FREAK!" Paul.

"LET'S GET OUT OF HERE!" Niall.

I stayed on my place and watched all of my friends run away and Gaara cried. I know I'm supposed to be running away also for my parents warned me not to get close to Gaara but nobody will know right? He look harmless and all he wanted was a friend, so why not give him a chance?

I slowly walk towards him and crouched down.

"H-hello." I greeted and he flinched then he looked at me.

"WHY?! WHY AREN'T YOU RUNNING AWAY?!" He shouted which made me sad.

"Why would I run away?" I asks and he widened his eyes.

"A-aren't you afraid of m-me?"

"Why would I be? You don't look harmful."

"I-I'm a monster."

"You don't look like a monster."

"B-but didn't you see how all of your friends run away?!"

Gaara's POV

"I did but I don't care. You're still holding my ball that's why." She joked but I didn't take it as a joke.

So that's the only reason why she didn't run away? I knew it, I shouldn't had helped them! They're all the same! The-

"So are you going to give me my ball so we can play together or you want me to run away as well because you were asking me why am I not running away? It sounded like you didn't want me here." She explained snapping me out of my thoughts.

"W-what did you say?"

"Are you going to give me my ball so we can play together or you want me to run away as well because you were asking me why am I not running away? It sounded like you didn't want me here." She repeated and I couldn't believe her.

Does she really wants to play with me?

"Y-you want to play with me?" I mutterred.

"Of course, but if you want me to run away then I will do it."

"N-no. I want to play with you." I gave the ball to her and I wasn't sure if she was really going to play with me or she'll run away as long as she got her ball.

"Good! From now on we're friends." She smiled putting out her hand and I was shock.

"F-friends?"

"Yeah, friends. Don't you want that?"

"O-of course I do." I said taking her hand into a hand-shake.

I always wanted a friend since before. That's always been my dream and now it's coming true! I-I feel happiness in me.

"Do you know how to play soccer?" She asks and I nod.

"Great."

"W-what's your name?"

"Oh my name is Jessica but my friends called me Jess."

"I-I'm Gaara, Jessica." I said and she chuckled.

"I said my friends calls me Jess." She repeated and I get what she meant.

"I'm Gaara, Jess." I smiled.

"Oh my gosh! You're cute when you smile." She giggled. "You should smile all the time."

And with that, I grinned. She made me happy and made me feel that I belong to this world. She was the only one who made me feel happy. She gaved light into my darkness.

"One more thing, is it true that you have that, Shukaka thing in you? I don't really know what it means for it was my first time hearing it."

I flinched and I got scared that if I tell her the truth, she might reject me. She might get scared and run away. I might not be able to see her again. She'll avoid me!

"Gaara?" She asks and I snapped out of my thoughts.

"Ye-yeah?"

"I said do you have that Shukaka thing in you?"

"Y-yes t-that's true. It's a demon that was sealed in me and they say that it can kill millions of people if it had been release. That's the reason why everyone avoided me and scared of me." I explained to her and close my eyes, getting ready to be rejected and be alone again for I'm sure she's going to ru...

"COOL!" She squealed and I opened my eyes.

"I said cool. Have you clean your ears lately because it seems that you cannot hear properly." She joked looking from my ears and I giggled.

"Now let's play! By the way, it's my Birthday today." She said and she started kicking the ball.

"I'm sorry I don't have any presents." I apologized.
