2.
Pulling the car out of the driveway I head in the direction of the pharmacy. When I pull into the parking lot I park at the front door and stepped out of the car. Turning the alarm on I walk into the pharmacy and look for pads. I find them on the shelf in the back corner.
As I walk down the aisle I find a packet of condoms and grab it. I walk down to the counter where a guy around my age is standing.
He scans my items without saying anything. "That will be $15.00." I give him twenty and tell him to keep the change.
Walking out of the store I crash into one of Bodie's friends and spilling the contents onto the floor.
Bending down I quickly grab everything. Hoping that he hasn't seen anything.
A knowing smile spreads across his face. "It's good to know that you're using protection with my best friend. I would hate to see him knock up a pretty girl like you at an early stage."
My face turns red. "Shut up, Collins." I turn around and head to the door. "Don't say a thing to, Bodie. I don't want him to know."
He zips his lips and says. "My lips are sealed." He rushes down the aisle I was in.
Unlocking the car I put my bag on the backseat. Before I can move to the driver's seat my phone goes off and I look at it.
Kelsey: I saw you drive past my house. Where are you?
Me: I went to the pharmacy.
Kelsey: On your way back come in. I have a surprise for you.
Me: I have a curfew, Kels. If I'm late I'll be grounded.
Kelsey: That's not true. You're sister spends more time avoiding curfew and she never gets into trouble.
Me: There's a different rules for all of us. I'll come in for ten minutes. Just need to fill the car up and then I'll be there.
Kelsey: Great, also Collin's went there. Can you give him a lift here? I don't want him walking back here. He's had a few too many.
Me: Fine, I just saw him in the shops.
Collins steps out of the store and I pull my window down and yell. "Hey, Collins. I'm going to Kelsey's. Get in the car and I'll give you a lift."
A smile spreads across his face. "Thanks, Kash. You rock." He climbs into the backseat.
I wait for him to put the seatbelt on before pulling out of the parking lot. Turning right I drive to the service station. When I get there I pull into the first one. Pulling the leaver on the car I open the petrol section. I step out of the car and then fill it.
Collins pulls the window down and he looks at me. "How long until we get to, Kelsey's? I need a drink."
"Haven't you had enough?"
"No, besides I want to be drunk for the day we have tomorrow."
"We're going to school."
"Exactly, I want to be hung over when I learn. Did you know I keep a bottle of Jack in my locker? Between classes I sip on it."
No wonder it usually looks like he's drunk.
He used to be on the football team, but he got knocked out and was told by the Doctor's if he continued to play he would be paralysed.
After that day he gave up the sport and took up drinking to help him get through it.
Shaking my head I say. "You need help, Collins. Drinking isn't going to solve your problem. You could always do a different sport?"
"Like what?"
"Swimming. I hear the new coach is a gold medallist. You've been swimming since you were a kid and we all know you were a lifesaver at the beach."
"I'll think about it, Kash." He pulls the window up and leans his head against the glass.
I walk into the service station and pay for the gas. Before I reach the register I grab two bottles of water and pain killers. I pay for everything and walk back to the car.
The car door opens and Collins leans out of it, throwing up.
I'm glad he didn't do it in the car. Mom would kill me if she saw that.
When he's done he looks at my hand. "Is that for me?"
"Yes," I give him the bottle and painkillers. "Lay off the alcohol for the rest of the night, Collins. I don't want to see you get into trouble.
He drinks the water and takes the painkillers. "I'm glad Bodie's girlfriend is helpful. Did you know he's at Kelsey's place? He snuck out after dinner. I never thought the golden boy would do something like that."
It's not the first time he's snuck out. His mother would probably think he's at mine.
She discovered we'd been doing that since we were ten. As long as we were in bed by the curfew she won't have a problem.
I pull the car away from the service station and drive the two blocks to Kelsey's. When I pull the car in front of her house I see cups littering her entire lawn.
I hope she has all this cleaned up before her mother gets back from her trip on Friday.
Stepping out of the car I grab my bag and help Collins out of the vehicle. I help him to the house.
Kelsey opens the door and looks at us. "Damn, I didn't think Collins would be in this shape. Take him to the spare room. He can sleep it off in there. I'll make sure he's ready for school in the morning." She holds the door open for me.
As soon as I step into the house I see Bodie and there's a girl in his lap. "There's my girlfriend." He slurs.
I give the girl on top of him an evil look before narrowing my eyes at him. "How can you do that to me, Bodie? Let another girl sit on you when I'm not around?"
He pushes the girl off him and says. "I'm sorry. Please, forgive me. I've had far too much to drink."
Clearly.
"Help me get, Collins into bed and then you're coming home with me."
Bodie doesn't bother arguing with me and he places the can in his hand on the table. Moving from his seat he helps me with his best friend. We place him in the spare bedroom and leave the room.
Pulling my phone out of my pocket I check Facebook and see a picture of Bodie making out with the girl that was on his lap. Showing him the picture I ask. "Did you do anything else with the girl?"
"No," he shakes his head vigoursly. "It was just a kiss."
Bodie puts his hand in mine and I shake it off. "I'm pissed with you right now, Bodie. This hurt me a lot. You came to this party without me and to top it off I had to witness that first hand. Get in the car now."
I walk through the house and see Kelsey leaning against the wall with a guy running his hand up her shirt. "Bye, Kelsey." Running out of the house I open the door and then rush to the car to unlock it.
Bodie climbs into the seat next to me and we don't say a word, until I'm parked in the driveway.
