"joon, would you call me crazy if i told you i found my hobi?" yoongi asked the older. namjoon used a gulp of air and sighed.
"don't start believing again, yoongi. it hasn't been a full month and we're already on square one again," namjoon said with an annoyed tone in his voice.
instead of getting mad, yoongi patted namjoons arm to get his full attention, "i swear with my whole life, i saw him yesterday. i'm not daydreaming, joon. i saw him."
"what you saw was a person that might've looked like him. but you didn't see hobi."
"he is hobi! i talked to him yesterday!" yoongi smiled. his smile was genuine, namjoon noticed and that's when he knew that yoongi wasn't kidding. seeing his real smile broke namjoon's heart. he hasn't seen it in a long time and to think it came back because of hobi, made him want to hug the boy.
"are you sure that was really him?"
"yeah! i even have his number!" yoongi took his phone out to show a long number. yoongi giggled at the thought of the digits.
"i don't know. don't get your hopes to high, yoongs. i'm just looking out for you," namjoon patted yoongi's back with a sad smile. yoongi replied with just his gummy smile. "i'll text him right now."
yoongi tapped on the number and pressed the message button. yoongi started with a simple hello! it's me, yoongi!
yoongi waited for a couple of minutes but figured that it was no use waiting for a response. yoongi put his phone down and just waited for that special ting sound.
"so...uh...what's his name?" namjoon asked.
"his name is hoseok. he looks just like hobi, joon. it was so crazy! i just wish it works out," yoongi's smile faded a bit because his cheeks were starting to hurt. but his happiness did not disappear.
"can you stop mentioning hobi? think of that guy as a person you met at the amusement park, okay?"
"why? there's nothing bad about hobi."
"it's just—" namjoon didn't finish what he was going to say when yoongi interrupted him.
"i know what your gonna say and no, i won't stop mentioning hobi. hobi was all i had my entire life. i won't just 'stop mentioning' him. he made me who i am today and i won't ever forget that."
"then what am i?"
"your namjoon. your a different type of special to me. you helped me along the way, hobi formed me."
"but i'm less important now? i'm a different type of important? what is that?! i helped you with my whole life! i would take a full bullet barrel for you, yoongi! don't dismiss me as a person that helped you while 'hobi' did nothing," namjoon's face was turning red. his veins were popping and his sweat was starting to roll down his face.
"i'm just a 25 year old man that didn't commit my whole life to you! i am nothing to you, yoongi. can't you hear yourself? can't you understand what your saying?!" namjoon was yelling, making yoongi scared. namjoon never yelled at him with so much anger.
"namjoon, calm dow—" yoongi couldn't finish when namjoon interrupted.
"no." namjoon got up from his seat. "have fun seeing this 'hoseok' guy, yoongi. i feel bad for him. you know why? because you're just using him to fill up your fantasy world that hobi exists in," namjoon got his jacket from the seat next to him and walked over to the door, "don't call me until you understand where you went wrong."
after those words, namjoon slammed the door behind him. yoongi flinched at the sudden noise. yoongi stood there, the only noise was his nose inhaling and exhaling oxygen.
then after a few minutes, the silent noises of sobs were heard. yoongi's nose started running and he used his sweater to wipe away his tears. his eyes were already turning red and his heart was broken in pieces. all for something that wasn't worth it?
yoongi heard a ting from his phone and that made him break down. he fully cried his heart out. he didn't want to lose the only person in his life. was hobi ever worth losing his only best friend?
