Hey guys! I had to write a short story under 500 words for my English class and I ended up writing a sort of fanfiction for the project. It's just a cute little fluff thing I guess, but I figured some people might want to read it, so why not? Enjoy :D

The ground shook with a thunderous boom. The trees cried out in protest as many were snapped in half beneath monstrous claws. Boulders clattered down the slopes of a neighboring mountain, disrupted from their precarious perches by the intense vibrations that jolted the earth. A dragon stood amid the chaos, with scales that glimmered like scarlet blood in the moonlight. His outstretched wings enveloped the forest, leaving it in shadow.

A tiny figure sat on the dragon's back, though by human standards he would be considered far from small. He was heavily built and held an angry fire in his red eyes that commanded respect from anyone who dared to look in his general direction. He had a massive saber belted at his side, and over his shoulders was a beautiful white wolf pelt, with a long red cape that trailed down from it.

"What are you doing!?" The man roared furiously from his perch on the dragon's back. "You idiot! They're getting away!"

His eyes narrowed as he saw thin wisps of smoke seeping out from between the scales, and a few moments later he was plummeting through the sky as the dragon's body seemingly disappeared beneath him. Streams of profanities rushed out of his mouth as he twisted and flailed in the air, his cape flapping wildly about him. The ferocious wind ruffled his ash-blond hair and chilled him to the bone.

Just as he fell below the tree line he was stopped in his fall, but the sudden stop knocked the breath out of him and sent shooting pain throughout his back. After he stopped seeing stars, he looked up into the smiling face of the one that caught him. It was a boy with bright red hair that stuck up in sharp spikes and shining crimson eyes. He wore a baggy shirt and shorts, a red and black striped scarf, and a small dagger was sheathed on his hip. Two bright red, leathery wings stretched out from his back, as well as a scaly red tail that lashed about excitedly.

"Put. Me. Down."

The redhead obeyed at once, dropping him hard onto the ground. With a little sigh he said, "C'mon, man, I need a break. I've been flying for hours and you won't even tell me who you're lookin' for."

The blond boy angrily scrambled to his feet and brushed the dirt off his pants as he growled back, "We're looking for the people who stole something from me."

"What did they steal?" the dragon-boy asked.

The other boy just grumbled, "Does it matter?"

"You need to lighten up," the redhead groaned. Then his eyes lit up and he added, "We should do something fun. I saw a lake not too far from here, let's just go for a swim!"

"No, I'm not-"

But the other boy interrupted with a happy shout as he tore off into the woods, "Race you!"

With a groan the blond boy set out after him. He couldn't go chasing after thieves without his only mode of transport anyway. "Wait up, idiot!"

It's pretty short but I figured some people might like it, plus that makes it a bonus upload day I guess :P

I really love fantasy so I've been thinking I might like to write a full-length fanfic based on the canon AU (if "canon AU" even makes sense?) If I do ever do that it probably won't be for a long time, but let me know what you think or if that's something you would enjoy. Love you guys, thanks so much for all the love and support!
