C H A P T E R – S I X T E E N

<><><>

As expected, I was sat in the cafeteria of the mall while my friends roam it. I think I consider Chelsea a friend now. I mean, I know Xander and I are over but I feel like she can actually be a good friend, when she isn't talking so much. She's a good girl to be honest. I think I'll still help her become more confident because she really needs to stop depending on idiots like Xander. She needs to fall on her own self, not in his arms.

I hate that stupid group therapy thing though...

All I really have to do is get her drunk over and over again. I should take her to another party. Yes, that's what I'll do. And this time, I'll have my two best friends with me, so nothing could possibly go wrong.

I'm losing my game. I keep getting blown to bits by those stupid bombs. I stick a fry in my mouth and continued playing on my phone. I want to be distracted by this game, I don't want to accidentally lay my eyes on anyone. I want to just stay here, all alone. It's so much better than actually interacting with people.

"Hey there," a male's voice interrupted me from my game and I got hit by the bomb, which was bound to happen, he just made it happen sooner. I immediately notice his blonde hair and blue eyes and I smile for some reason. I guess that was an invitation for him to sit because he did, right next to me.

"Hey," I finally say back. He chuckled and ran his fingers through his hair, what a sexy action. I'll have to admit; this guy is actually really good looking. I mean I won't do anything with him just yet, but he looks totally worthy.

"Shae, yeah?" he asked me. I nodded my head slowly, "How'd you know? Am I that popular?"

He laughed, "Uh well I met you at a party, remember?"

"Uh no..."

"Are you sure? Cause you kissed me that night and Xander lost his shit..." he rolled his eyes. I smile, "Oh well, it's totally okay now, cause I'm single."

"That's what you said the last time, and I nearly got a black eye," he laughed softly. It's nice that he could laugh about almost getting his ass kicked. I don't remember him at all, but if he says we kissed then I can't really go against that, can I? No, I can't.

I laugh along, "I'm serious, I'm totally single." Do I come off as thirsty? Cause I really don't give a fuck.

"Okay, I believe you. I'm Jake, by the way," he says to me, putting out his hand. I nod, "Okay, uh Shae."

"I know," he smiled widely at me. I rolled my eyes. "So..." he says after a while of silence. I roll my eyes and begin to laugh. "Can I get your phone number?"

"I knew you were going to ask that," I say to him, with a wide grin. Jake blushed slightly and looked down. Okay, he's cute.

"Well can I have it?"

"Yeah, I guess," I smile and open my hand for his phone. He pulled his lip ring between his teeth and gave me his phone.

"Why did you decide to talk to me now?" I ask him after I punched in my number.

"Well I saw you sitting here, so why not?"

"Yeah, but why today?"

"I wasn't at school for the past few days, or I would have," he smiled at me. I was tempted to ask what happened but we just met and I think that's pushing it. I know I would get really upset if someone would ask me my business when I obviously don't want them to know.

"Oh, okay. You go to my school, yeah?" I just need to check. I don't think I've ever seen this tall good looking guy in my entire life.

"Yes," he laughs. I nod my head, "Yeah, I knew that."

"So your friends are coming back?" he asked me with his thick, but really sexy accent. I can't believe I have never noticed this guy at school. He's good looking and has an accent. I guess I was just blinded by someone else...

"Uh yeah, they all love shopping, but me not so much..." I tell him and he nods. He laughed before saying, "It's so weird for a girl like you not to like shopping."

"A girl like me?" I asked him with raised eyebrows.

"You know, the really pretty girl who basically looks perfect every time you see her," he complimented. I couldn't help but blush, but then said, "I'm far from perfect."

"Aren't we all?"

I nod, "Yeah, but I'm like really, really unperfected."

"That's not a word, love," he chuckled. I hid my face with my hands. What the hell is unperfected?

"See?"

Jake only laughed, "Well we all have our fair share of imperfections."

"And our fair share of perfections too, right?"

He smiled and shook his head, "Nope. No one is perfect."

"What the fuck? You suck!" I laugh and slap his arm softly. Jake laughed along with me. He's a fricking idiot. He just told me I look perfect every time he sees me, now he's saying no one is perfect? All I can really do is laugh. Honestly, I like this guy. Not like boyfriend material (just yet) but he seems like he'd be exquisite company. He just has that idiocy that makes everyone like him. Not many people could perfect the 'idiot'.

Chelsea and the guys soon joined the table, with bags and wide eyes. I smile at them, and Jay and Troy gave me a pleased look. "Guys, this is Jake," I introduce. Chelsea winked at me. She's been hanging around Troy and Jay a little too much. I rolled my eyes at them all.

"Hey," Jake nodded at them, probably trying to make a good impression on my friends. It's not really necessary. Maybe he thinks they might talk me out of being his friend? I don't know. A guy's mind is complicated.

"So you guys just met?" Chelsea asked us. I shake my head, "He's been stalking me for a while and he finally decided to talk to me."

"That's a lie," Jake immediately defended himself and I begin to laugh along with the rest of the table. After that, they basically forgot Jake existed and began talking about clothes. Jake faced me once again, "Uh I have to go..."

"No, you feel awkward," I correct him. He laughed but nodded his head. "So I'll see you around, yeah?"

"Yeah."

He stood up, showing off his long legs, then walked away. The moment he did, they all stopped talking and looked at me. I already know what they're all going to do.

They squealed.

"Oh my gosh, Shae, he's so cute. It's like perfect!" Chelsea says. I roll my eyes, "Guys stop it..."

"No, you finally found a real guy," Troy says.

"Yeah, yeah," I mumble. In that moment, my phone began to ring. I don't recognize the number but I answered anyway. On the other end, I heard his accented voice and I grinned.

"You're smiling aren't you?" was the first thing he said. I tried not to smile but failed, "No. Why are you calling?"

"Just checking."

"Oh okay, well bye," I say then hang up. I look to them and did something I never thought I would ever do.

I squealed.
