Spence and I are home alone, again. Mum has to work, as usual. She never seems to be home; it actually surprises me that we have a cool relationship. She isn't a horrid mother. She's just a workaholic. But I think you shouldn't be a workaholic when you have kids.
"We should like visit her at work or something," I follow Spencer around, talking about mum and its obviously annoying the shit out of him. He's going up to his room and being the brave soul I am, I follow him. Spence's room is something that hasn't been discovered by scientists yet. I don't know how the guy could live and sleep in this place.
"No, Shae. Do you seriously think she wants to see us if she got a job which has her working all the time?" He groaned as he plopped down on his bed with his phone in hand. Its late afternoon and soon we'll have to order dinner or something. I'm in the mood for Chinese, but Spence would obviously disagree.
"She does want to see us. We're her children," I roll my eyes as I leaned against his tall Chester drawer.
"I think working is like her getaway..." he finally gave me a sensible answer. I nod, although I can't see how the hell doing work could be someone's getaway. I feel like such a child. I'm asking all these questions about my mum like an infant would. It's silly, but sometimes I miss her.
"I remember when she was normal," I say to him. Spencer glanced up at me from his phone, "You mean, before Dad died?"
I nod my head, "She was happy. And she actually used to spend time with us."
"Oh so I'm not the only one who's noticed her fake smiles," he says to me.
"Yeah, she says she's over it, but everyone can see she's not," I sigh. I wish I could do something to make her feel better. But I really can't. I know she probably just wants him out of the grave and with us again, but that's impossible. Everyone misses dad, but we aren't going to ignore the rest of the family for that! He was our fucking father, and just her husband. I think we are more close to him and we aren't acting like that.
But then again, I shouldn't be like that. Mum loved dad and I shouldn't think like that.
"We should get her a date..." he suggested.
I scoff and shake my head, "I doubt that would work."
"You're such a pessimist," Spencer rolled his eyes. I sigh and run my fingers through my hair. I'm starving now.
"Can we go for food?" I ask him. He laughed, "Wow, Shae, I thought the topic was mum?"
"Oh well we can talk about her when we're going for food."
Spencer laughed and stood from the bed. He grabbed his keys and walked passed me. I cheered and made foreign sounds as we walked down the stairs to the front door. I care about what happens to my mum, I really do, but I'm starving. Now that I'm actually thinking about it, mum should get a boyfriend. It'll be perfect. She'll get a distraction from work and she could begin to pay attention to us again and everything would be back to normal... I think.
I take the passenger seat and Spencer drove. We are just going to a drive true, because actually going into a restaurant requires so much patience. I mean, so does a drive true, but at least I'll be the comfort of the car. As we were driving, I received a text message. I grinned as I opened it.
After replying to Jake's text, I look over to Spence. "I got a new friend," I tell him, all smiles. He glanced at me, "Really? Like a guy friend?"
"Uh yeah."
"So... you're done fucking my best friend?" he asked bluntly and I almost choked on air. I began coughing like a mad woman and fanning my face with my hand for air.
"What the hell are you talking about?" I decided I shall not admit to anything. How does he even know that? I want to ask that, but that would blow my cover.
Spencer laughed, "You really think I'm stupid, don't you?"
I nod my head but don't reply. Maybe we did something that made it pretty obvious. Maybe something got out, or Xander told everyone and when I go to school tomorrow I'll be known as a slut. It's weird how I'd be the one who'd get ridiculed in that situation and not the guy.
He continued, "Well he almost fought when a guy kissed you, which is weird, plus I saw his car parked down the street that morning, and also the pretty obvious one, I saw the guy fucking laying in my bathroom naked."
"Oh my god," was all I could say.
"Also, when I confronted him about it, he told me."
"What?! When? Why would he do that?" I shout.
"He also told me you guys are now over."
"I'm going to fucking kill him. How could he tell you that shit? I thought it was supposed to be a secret!" I can't fucking believe this. So all this fucking time Xander has been telling Spence everything!
"Shae, I'm his best friend. You must be fucking stupid not to expect that. But don't worry I won't tell anyone. That's too fucking disgusting to re-tell to anyone to be honest," he made a disgusted face. I'm still on the fact that Xander actually told Spencer about us. That has me wondering how much did he actually tell. Or if he decided to tell anyone else. I feel like a fucking idiot and I feel the need to get back at him.
It would make no sense to tell Chelsea and have her dump him because he obviously doesn't like her. I need to do something more that would just fuck him up. I swear I hate Xander so much.
"Hey, stop overthinking it," Spencer snapped me out of my train of thought then asked, "What are you ordering?"
We made it here already? Wow, I'm not even hungry anymore. I feel hurt and betrayed and angry as hell.

I stood at the door of the English class with Jay and Troy. I check the time and smiled when I realized it was only five minutes until lunch. Neither Troy nor Jay was paying attention to what I was going to do, although they basically told me what to do. They are more focused on each other than anything else. Its good though. I don't think I've seen either of them this happy. They are literally always grinning at each other and being the cute couple they are.
"Shae, I'm so glad you moved on," Jay spoke to me from the other side of the door.
"Yeah, me too," I nod, "It's all thanks to you guys. You did my makeup really great and now I have confidence! Yay!" I cheer. They both laughed then kissed each other. The students in English have a clear view of jay and Troy kissing through the square glass in the door. They have something better to watch than their boring ass teacher.
When the bell rings for lunch, I grin to myself, since it made no sense smiling at them because they looked like they were ready to fuck each other in the bathrooms right now. Students rushed out of the classroom and I scanned the crowd for his tall figure. Upon finally finding it, I tug his arm so he would come to me.
He looked down at me with slightly furrowed brows but a cute smile present on his lips. "You really like me don't you?" he smirked and pulled his lip ring between his teeth. My eyes blink from his crystal blue eyes to his lips and I said, "Maybe."
He scoffed and rolled his eyes, "Liar. You totally like me."
"Okay, so what if I like you? You like me too, right?" I raise my brows at him. He shrugged his shoulders and fixed his bag on his back, "Maybe..." I held back a smile and took his hand, "Sit with me at lunch?"
"I have friends who were really excited to having me sit with them you know," he lies with a cute smile. "Really?" I ask and I step closer to him. It's so fricking annoying in hallway, because it's so noisy and rowdy. A nice quiet place would be perfect.
His eyes were locked on mine, but he said nothing. I bite my bottom lip slowly then let it go. Jake smiled and he was finally going to reply, but I couldn't wait any longer. I brought my hand up behind his neck and in a swift movement pulled him to me, connecting our lips. It lasted for about two seconds before I pulled away. Jake stared at me with wide eyes, but he obviously began to smile afterwards. His hands rest on my hips and he pulled me in, pressing our lips together. My hands were on his neck now, as he tongue swiped my bottom lip.
As I opened my mouth to deepen the kiss, Jay's voice interrupted us. I slowly pull away from him and drop my hands to look at Jay and Troy. "Don't swallow each other," he commented as he walked between us and Troy followed. I chuckled lightly and took his hand. How ironic that Jay and Troy just told us that.
"You're sitting with me at lunch, right?" I ask him.
"Uh sure," he laughed softly as we began to walk to the cafeteria. We just entered the cafeteria and my eyes immediately land on our table. I was completely shocked when I found Xander and Chelsea sitting at the table also. Now, Chelsea, I've grown to like but Xander, no. There is no way I can sit and eat with him.
I squeeze Jake's hand as we walked and he looked down at me slightly puzzled. "You okay?"
"Nope. I'm not," I honestly say to him.
"Don't you want to eat here?" he asked me. We were nearing the table and I just shook my head. I really can't do this. How dare he sit there? At my table? Its mine!
"We can eat somewhere else..."
"Yes, please. Let me just tell the guys." They were already sitting at the table. I smile at everyone and scowl at him. Spence soon joined the table, which just made things even better. I'm so glad we're leaving.
"Uh we aren't eating here," I tell Troy and Jay.
"Why?" Chelsea butted in. I glance back at Jake, "Uh there isn't enough room here for us." it's a stupid ass lie, I hope it works.
"No, please, stay. He can pull a chair," Chelsea reasoned, which was horrible, "Please don't go."
"Chelsea, I'll call you later or something," I could feel his eyes burning into me and just know he's angry. Xander got pretty angry when Jake and I kissed, I can only imagine how he feels now. Isn't that sad?
"Babe, you aren't really going, are you?" Jay asked me. I nod, "Yeah. Uh the food sucks."
"Fine," Chelsea stands, "We're coming too."
"No, please."
Jake came to me, "Are you sure you don't want to stay? They seem like they really want you to."
"No, Jake, I seriously cannot stay," I tell him.
"We'll all just go," Troy says and stands, and so does Jay. This isn't fucking happening. I groan and turn around to Jake. I drawl, "Do you want to stay?"
"Yes, actually."
"I hate you," I groaned. He laughed and hugged me. I hate the world, I hate everything. Why? Why? Why? I have to sit at this table with Xander right across from me. I wish it could be as easy as paying attention to Jake alone, but his eyes are on me ever so often and I hate it. The group are engaging in conversation and I'm on my phone.
Jake's hand covered my phone screen and I immediately look up at him. I smiled, "What?"
"You're so focused on that game..."
"Would you rather me be focused on something else?"
"Yes. Like I don't know, books and stuff," he says with a smirk.
"Huh, really?"
"Yeah."
"You're like a huge liar," I rolled my eyes and pecked his lips. He cupped my cheeks and kissed me again. If I must say, Jake's kisses are so great and addictive. If I didn't have to breathe, I'd totally kiss him forever.
I actually don't care that we barely know each other because we both know this isn't going to last. I mean, he likes me and I like him, a lot, but its only physical attraction. I'm okay with that. He can't really do anything that would hurt me, so whatever. I'm really considering becoming a full time slut. I don't want to have to worry about relationships and if he might break my heart or betray me. I hate crying over guys so I'm not going to do that shit again.
I will definitely start that after Jake. He's like way too good to just give up after one night. Honestly, I actually really like him. He's funny and he can kiss and he's good looking and he isn't a jerk. Why should I give him up?
"I wonder if he knows I'm her brother..." Spencer says to the others. I pull away from Jake and laugh softly. I cleared my throat, "Jake, this is my brother Spencer."
"Oh shit, uh hi," Jake says to Spencer, who eventually cracked up.
"There's nothing to worry about," I tell Jake, "He's the same age as me and he's as harmless as a teddy bear."
"Fuck you, Shae," he rolled his eyes. He then pats Xander's shoulder, "I have people on my side." Spence is just being an asshole. He knows exactly what's going on. That's why I could never say I actually liked my brother.
"No one is afraid of him," I roll my eyes.
"Your boyfriend is," Spence chuckled and so did Xander. I groaned and stood up, "See why I didn't want to sit with you Jackasses." I took Jake's hand and pulled him with me. "I didn't take offence by it," he says to me.
"I just needed to get out of there," I tell him as we leave the cafeteria, "It was a great opportunity for us to just leave."
"Okay," he nodded, "Where do you plan on going now?"
"I don't know. My car or something..." I smirk at him. Jake only rolled his eyes but followed me anyway.
