(Enki's pov)
(Bet you weren't expecting that)
I grasped my head in between my hands, trying to force it to go away. I strained with all my strength, but I could still feel it overtaking me. I felt it slowly taking over like a slug inching over the ground. It was half way there. I felt the tears running down the side of my face that was still controlled by me. I didn't bother yell for help. All of the other of what seemed like millions of times were unsuccessful. I was too far away. I hope (y/n) doesn't come now. The last times I had hurt her. Despite the pain, I felt a shiver go down my spine. I would never want to hurt her, for she is the only one that showed me kindness. Even though she knew what I did, she still cares. 'what I was forced to do' I corrected myself. Even Samon stopped coming. More tears. I felt it possessing me, taking me. Changing me into someone who I wasn't. I let out a single futile yell before I was no more.
(your pov)
You walked through the doors, clocking in. You had to go to a meeting with the Warden, as she thought you made the best reports. Although you were ecstatic to be able to work with the Warden, it was tiring. You glanced at your watch to see it was 12:02. Just as you walked into the break room, Inori came up to you. Not looking at all ashamed, he asked "He, can you take my shift in the underground for me today?" under any other circumstances, you would have said a solid "no" and be done with it. But you wanted to find out what was wrong with Enki. With a sigh, you mumbled a quiet "yes" "Thank God, I thought I was ganna have to do it." he said, reaching for the ring of keys on his belt. He threw them to you. They landed in your palms with a clink. You raised and eyebrow in question. He went on, " It's inmate number 507's last day down there. Take him out and bring him to cell 304, K" he said, already halfway out of the door. Slightly annoyed at the extra work, you let out an annoyed huff. Rummaging through your bag, you pulled out your notebook and pen. You started to make your way to the underground prison.
(time skip)
You made it to the doors, inputting your information to pass through security. The doors swung open. As always, you quickly took down requests. After a while you got to inmate 507. He was a short guy with black hair, eyes almost matching the color. When you opened the door, he complied, allowing you to cuff him. The walk there was silent. It was awkward, but you put on what the others call your guard face. You un-cuffed him and he walked into the cell. He just stood there as you closed and locked it back. 'Weird' you thought, walking back to the underground. Jotting down the last of the requests, you walked slowly to his cell. You were just realizing how far it really was. You shrugged it off. After a good bit, you finally made it to his cell. You half expected him to be like he was last time, but no. There he was, facing the corner as he had been at your first meeting. You took a deep breath in, preparing yourself for what is to come. You were not a very confrontational person, which meant you didn't ask many questions. You didn't want to bug anyone. But you knew this was necessary. You had to help your friend. You walked to the door. You weren't planning on doing this, but now that you had the keys, you couldn't pass up this opportunity. You knew it was dangerous. You knew it was stupid. You knew that there was a chance that you could end up dead if he had another one of his attacks. You shivered, thinking about the damage he could do without the bars in the way. You tried to slow your heart down. You glanced at the number that was on the top of his cell. 152. (I couldn't find any information on this, so it's just a random number) You looked at the keys. They were individually labeled with the number of which cell they opened. You flipped through them. After a while you found it. The key to cell 152. You held the key up. Enki still hadn't acknowledged you. You pushed the key into the hole, turning it. It unlocked slowly with a multitude of clinks, clanks, and ticks coming from the inner workings of the lock. The key jerked to a stop. You gently pushed the door. It creaked ominously, the sound of it amplified by the heavy silence. It bounced against the wall with a clang. Now, you just stood there. You were sure that he could hear your heart beating out of your chest. Enki was still facing the wall. He showed no signs of any interest in what you were doing what-so-ever. Taking a deep breath, you took one, timid step in. Then another. Then another. After a few more quiet steps, you were half way there. A few more steps and you would be close enough to reach him. You took those last few steps. Now you were just a few feet away from him.

A few more grueling seconds of thick silence passed before he finally answered in a low, strained voice."what are you doing in here" Though you were waiting for him to speak, it still shocked you when he did. You took a few seconds to think of an appropriate response. "helping you" you said in a soft voice, looking at the ground. You heard him turn toward you quickly and quietly. You waited for him to speak. To move. To do something. After what seemed like a few hours, you got your response. The deep, dark voice coming from right in front of you said only three words.
"Look at me"
