Are You Dead?
Mabel Pines was simply glad when Dipper had left her that day. Glad. She thought he'd turn up the next day.
When she was looking through her closet that night, she saw her favorite sweater gone. She saw Dipper's hat, and promptly put it on her own head.
Stan was devastated, but he said life must go on! They had the rest of the summer to find him. He was pretty upset that $30 was missing from his cash register. He thought Dipper would turn up in a day or two!
A month later, most, if not all, of the townsfolk suspected he was dead. They whispered whenever Mabel walked by in a oversized blue sweater, with white silhouettes of Shooting Stars and Pinetrees, wearing Dipper's hat.
Mabel knitted a bunch of sweaters to match the hat. After all, it was the only thing she had left of him.
Changes, drastic changes, had happened in that fourth week of Dipper missing. Stan had priced up every Pinetree hat in the store, not wanting to be rid of them.
Blue Pine Tree Trucker Cap~$2,000
Green Oak Trucker Cap~$30
Stan had tried to get Mabel to let him remove Dippers' stuff from her room, but she refused.
Mabel cut her hair in the bathroom, making it so she had bangs. She stopped eating so much glitter, had only one small glass of Mabel Juice a week.
Stan had noticed these changes, and wanted to help, he just didn't know how. He had a chance to get his twin back, but Mabel....didn't.
Mabel's POV (One month after Dippers' Disappearance)
I was pondering whether to summon Bill or not, things have gotten quite...it was a more drastic situation than it ever had been before.
Search Parties were called off, everyone had lost hope, trust, and faith in her brother.
I nearly did. Well, I almost have lot faith. Bill is my only hope!
Or maybe Dipper ran away...to another town.
No! What're you thinking! He probably got kidnapped! He couldn't walk on that leg!
The problem, though, with summoning Bill, is that I didn't have a journal. I'd need to talk with....Gideon Gleeful.
I met him by going to one of his shows, although on that day I wore no sparkle, I refused to smile, laugh. It had been the third week anniversary since Dipper had gone missing. Gideon had tried to talk to me, flirt with me even! How dare he! I simply dodged his questions and went to the Shack.
It looked like I had to talk with him, apparently.
After heading over to the Tent of Telepathy, catching him after-performance.
Gideon's POV
Mabel Pines, one of the prettiest peaches alive, had sought me out after I had a show.
I took note of her drab clothing, her new bangs. Her sweater was blue, bigger than any of her others, and had white silhouettes on it. It looked like Shooting Stars and Pinetrees. She had her usual Pinetree hat on her head, accompanied by a white skirt and black shoes.
What a drab appearance.
"Look, Gideon. I need to borrow...I need to borrow your journal." She said to me.
"What journal are y'all talkin' about, peach dumplin'?" I asked her.
She couldn't know about Journal 2. There was no way!
"I saw you summoning Bill. Journal th--two ring a bell?"
"Why do y'all need it?" I questioned her.
"I need to summon Bill. To get my--"
"Why in the worl' would y'all wan' 'o summon him?"
"You know this hat I wear?" She asked me, seemingly changing the topic.
"It's from my brother. My twin brother, who went missing last month. It's been exactly a month. I need to summon Bill to get him back!" Mabel shouted at me.
I quietly was intimidated, and handed the journal over to her.
"Jus....just give it back when y'all are dun." I spoke meekly.
Mabel's POV
I drew the circle, set up the candles.
I was yet to light the candles, when there was a single gust of wind.
Sadness took over.
I shouted into the wind, newfound tears streaming down my face, "ARE YOU ALIVE, DIPPER?!"
I sat there for five minutes at the least, tears forming, falling, and forming once more.
I had held these tears in, too long. They needed to be shed, I needed to weep, covering my face with my brothers' ratty hat.
