Chapter XLI
OMNISCIENT
"What if they won't like my performance?" Mina looked at her performer. She seemed uneasy and worried that the audience might not be able to like her. Mina made a smile and held her girl's shoulder. That question was her exact thoughts when she was still a harlot.
"They will. Stop being nervous, 'kay?" The girl sighed and nodded. She then smiled and thanked Mina, being the owner of the bar in which she works at.
"Wow, what a motivational speaker," she rolled her eyes when she heard Minhyun behind her. He's looking handsome as usual, but he never goes to bars like that, so she wondered why he was there.
"Why are you here, Mr. Hwang?" She turned to him, so she can face him.
"Nothing much. I just want to see the boss." She again rolled her eyes. Minhyun loves to toy Mina's thoughts, but he always fail. "Yah, Myoui Mina," he called.
"It's Sharon, mister." She whispered. No one knew what was her Japanese name is. She only gives Sharon as her name and no one complains, so she just used it more often now that she stays in the States.
"How much for the girl?" Minhyun pointed the girl onstage.
"She's not for sale nor for rent, Minhyun. Get a life," she sassily told him and watched the girl's performance. The young lady started strumming her guitar and greeted the audience before starting her song. "I don't sell women."
"But you sold yourself back then."
"I don't want them to sacrifice their bodies just for money. I've learnt from my mistakes and I can't afford to see my girls going through the same situation I've been to." Minhyun became silent. Mina has the point. What she experienced back then is too much already and she swore to herself not to let other helpless ladies do the same thing.
She started her bar for charity. She had the money and the brain and of course, Joshua. Joshua owns several businesses, so she asked him for help and he gladly gave the help she needed. Most of her performers are girls because they are the ones who doesn't have any job around their area. She has some girls who experienced being a sex slave by men and she wanted to help them since she knows the feeling. She's been there. No one knows what a harlot feels unless you're a harlot yourself.
She received the call from Hyorin two days before the wedding. She was still laying in bed at 1 AM since she just got off from work. Her phone kept on ringing and ringing that the baby woke up and cried tears because of the noise.
"Argh," she groaned and answered the phone. "Who is this?" She was not in the zone to answer anyone yet.
"Minaring!" It was Hyorin.
"Hyorin unnie? Why call this early?" She yawned and looked at the baby. He was still tearing up, so she sighing carried him and started feeding him milk.
"Who's crying? Is there a baby?"
"Yeah, the baby's crying because of your call." She retorted. It sent Hyorin hundreds of questions inside her head, but it wasn't the time for her to ask anything yet since she disturbed Mina's peaceful sleep.
"My wedding is going to take place three days from now! I'm sending you an electronic invitation, so check out your Kakaotalk." She raised a brow. She never knew that the wedding would be so soon. Well, it's been two years since Hyorin called her about the wedding plans.
"Really? Okay. I'll fly back before the wedding."
"Okay! I'm anticipating for you! Bye!"
"Okay. Congratulations, unnie." She said and hung up. Mina placed the baby back from the crib when it stopped making noise. She then went back to sleeping.

Jimin was frozen. He knows. He can feel it. It was Mina.
Gulping, he tried taking a step forward, but Dahyun came, smiling. "Jagi, I saw some jellies--are you okay?" She asked, bothered of Jimin's expression.
"Jagi," he called, not looking at his fiancé. "I-I saw Mina." Dahyun raised a brow. Does he have a sixth sense? She thought. Can he see ghosts? "J-Jagi, I saw Mina."
"Where?" She questioned.
Jimin fled from her and looked for Mina. Dahyun was a bit surprised to see him do that, but she just went silent and followed her soon-to-be groom. Right, Jimin did not tell her about his marriage. She doesn't know that he's arranged.
He stopped when he saw Mina playing with a baby while being held by his father. "M-Mina..." he trailed off. He wants to call her, shout her name, but nothing comes out from his mouth.
Dahyun stood beside Jimin and cupped his face, "Jagi, let's go home now." Jimin's eyes went from Mina to Dahyun. His fiancé seemed worried of him and as much as he wants to tell him that he's okay, he can't because it doesn't show in his face. "Jagi..." Dahyun called.
Jimin's tears rowed down. "M-Mina..." Faintly, he called. His legs went weak, so he hold onto Dahyun's arms and let himself cry. He was causing a minor scene, but he didn't care. He's so close into calling Mina, but he couldn't. It made himself hard to walk even if she's just ten meters away.
Mina and Joshua walked away with the baby, not knowing that Jimin is near.
But then, Mina stopped walking. "Hey, I forgot something. I'll get back to you." Joshua nodded and headed to the counter. Mina turned around and saw Jimin which made her petrify. They met gazes and Dahyun turned around to see her. She was even more shocked when she saw the ring on Dahyun's finger. She didn't want to assume anything just because of an engagement ring, but she can't help but to think about it.
"Mina's looking." Dahyun whispered. "Do you want to go to her?"
"Y-Yes, please." He nodded. Dahyun, using her thumb, wiped Jimin's tears and accompanied him towards Mina.
Mina wasn't ready. She doesn't know what should she do. It's been two years and even though she did her best to forget the guy who broke her, she's still uncertain.
She watched him walk towards her with a crying face. "M-Mina, you're alive!" He hugged her infront of his fiancé. It was hard to look for Dahyun, so she just turned her head sideways to avoid the scene.
"U-Uh," she gently pushed Jimin away and stepped back. "I'm sorry." She said and ran away from him. She went to Joshua who is waiting for her.
"What happened? You look lost." He used his handkerchief to wipe Mina's tiny sweat off her face. "You okay?" He scanned her face and just by scanning it, he can answer his own question.
"I'm fine." She answered. "I didn't get the thing. I'm sorry for making you wait."
"It's okay."
*
"Jimin and I met," he told Joshua. "He was crying. He looked like someone who is in so much pain."
"That's what he get for breaking you. It's called karma." Joshua, again, scanned her face. She seemed worried and uneasy. She looks like someone who doesn't know what to do. She just encountered the least person whom she wants to see right at that moment. "What are your plans now?"
"I don't know," she shrugged her shoulders. "How's Youngbin?" She asked, pertaining to Joshua's son.
"He's fast asleep in the bedroom." He answered, so he just nodded.
"Can you drive me to my meeting place with Hyorin unnie tomorrow?"
"Yeah, sure." He agreed. "I don't have anything to do here anyway."
"How about work?"
"None. I told all of our workers to take a three-day day off since we're gone." Mina wanted to retort, but she felt like she lost all of her energy from what happened that morning.
She never expected to meet Jimin at such wrong time.
