CHAPTER TEN. PUSSYCAT
The man decided to take the stairs on his way down. His shaft bulge through his pants and his breathing was anything but steady, his neck... the man abruptly stopped walking to use his palm to rub at his neck roughly in order to conceal the marks he was certain the young man had left there. There was no mirror to look at to see how obvious it was and his phone was pressed tightly into his ears while he spoke to his wife.
The past months he's come to know Adrian, his heart has known no peace. It was like the first few months he moaned the loss of Jack only this time, he just can not stop thinking about Adrian. The boy was on his mind so constantly that he could not focus on anything else. He's tried not to think about him but that decision wasn't his to make as the thoughts of Adrian invades his mind, knocking him off guard and restless and he just could not help but yearn for the boy. He craves his touch, his ears prickles in desperate needs to hear his gentle voice and his lips tingle for the sweet caress of Adrian's kiss, his body, oh God, his body shivers from just the thoughts of Adrian's hands roaming about and learning him, his weak spots as well as his sweet spot. Elijah pressed his back against the wall and shut his eyes, his breathing coming off hard as his erection still bulged for all to see.
"Fuck you, Adrian." He cursed under his breath and then yanked his phone from his ear. He had long disconnected his conversation with his wife the moment his thoughts wandered off. He swiped through the phone for pictures of his children and just as he thought, the sight of the two beautiful kids sent his body back to normal. He smiled when he looked underneath him and found no bulge.
Thank you, kids.
The man took the stairs two at a time and was out of the building in no time.
*********
"My love, where were you?" Nova rushed into his arms and sealed their lips.
"Had to attend to something." Elijah smiled slightly. "Is there something you wanted? You sounded so urgently on the phone." He slowly pushed her away from him and cupped her neck with his hands.
"What is that on your neck?" The woman asked worriedly when she caught glimpses of what looked like bite marks.
Elijah quickly pulled his shirt collar up to conceal the marks. "Oh..that, it's Billy. He must have left claw marks when we wrestled earlier." Elijah lied.
The woman narrowed her eyes but said no more about the marks. "Guess who showed up?" She asked as excitement laced her words.
"Andrew, please let it be Andrew," Elijah replied.
"Yes, it is Andrew." She told him and sauntered down the hall laughing.
"Well, where is he?!" Elijah yelled but got his answer when a strong grip captured him from behind. "God! I hate you so much!" He laughed when he finally pulled out of Andrew's death grip and was now hugging the laughing man.
All his life he had only kept one true friend and that one was Andrew. They have known each other since they could crawl and has been together ever since. If anyone knew his secrets, that one is none other than the beast hugging him right now.
When their hug came to an end Andrew stared into his eyes with a taunting smirk on his face. Elijah didn't want to wait to find out what the evil man had in mind and he was soon running out of there.
"You can't run away from me, Pussycat!" Andrew yelled after him.
Elijah cussed at the nickname but didn't stop running. As much as he loves his best friend he hates him the same. Soon he was up in his penthouse with the door shut behind him.
When he heard the door unlocking he cussed and fell into the sofa and laughed clenching his belly tightly.
"What a fool you are, Pussycat. I've got the keys, remember." Andrew dangled the keys on his fingers while he slowly made his way towards the other laughing man. When he made it to Elijah, he grabbed both his hands and Elijah was forced to look into those strong brown eyes.
"Drew..." He called between laughter as the other man crushed him in yet another hug.
"I missed you too," Andrew whispered and kissed Elijah on the lips. It wouldn't be the first time he's done that, and so he wasn't surprised. When they were in the university people had thought them to be lovers but there was no such thing.
Elijah wasn't the type one would refer to as brave while growing up, he would be controlled by anybody if they were able to look past the tough mask he tends to wear around like a second face. His parents knew this and that was why they had made the decision they made that has left him with no choice but to cower in fear when the thoughts of doing the right thing came to mind. Andrew has been the other person who knew this side of him and that was when the name-calling started. Only he knew why Andrew calls him Pussycat. People always considered him to be fierce amongst the both of them. But Andrew was, in fact, the fierce one and he only basked in the shadow of him. If both men were to stand side by side, all would swear that Elijah was the one without a heart.
"How was it?" Elijah asked after Andrew had pulled his lips away and was now seated comfortably on the sofa with both thighs spread apart and hands behind his head.
"Successful!" Andrew replied proudly. He has traveled the world and had succeeded in establishing his company in four different parts of the world.
"How many so far?" Elijah asked returning with two glasses of wine.
"Four." Andrew took one glass and they both cheered and brought the glass to their lips at the same time.
"Is this a new one?" Andrew asked after his first taste.
"Yes, the most expensive the company ever made," Elijah replied. "And four is a lot my friend, congratulations!" He smiled.
"Not as much as yours but you know, I'm getting there," Andrew told him and downed the last of his glass before reaching for the bottle this time.
"Ok, you have to go easy there, Tiger." Elijah laughed when he saw the man pour a glass full and downed it in one go, then poured his third glass.
"This had to be the most delicious wine I ever tasted." His eyes glued on the glass as if he was searching for what made it so tasteful.
"Thank you." Elijah couldn't help but feel proud of himself.
"You know, I want to get as high as you are right now. So four companies are nothing compared to yours." Now there goes the Andrew he remembered, so competitive.
"You do know that my father and Mr. Littlefield started this company long before I came along?" Elijah reminded his friend.
"That's absolute rubbish!" Andrew disagreed for the millionth time. "You made this company what it is today and all of this is neither your father or Mr. Littlefield's doing."
"My point is I didn't start the company but you started yours from scratch and for that, you are doing amazing. You should be proud." Elijah started to pour himself a second glass and already he's lost count of how many his friend had taken. "You're ending up drunk," Elijah warned.
"This is my house too." The stubborn man burped and dumped his glass on the table.
"True." Elijah smiled.
"I am proud of my achievements, Pussycat, but it pisses me off when you include your father's twenty-percent or Mr. Littlefield's twenty-percent into your eighty." Andrew met his eyes. "This.." He demonstrated by spreading his hands widely. "This is all you, Elijah, give yourself some credit." He pats the man on the thigh and then reclined back into the sofa.
"Thank you, but it isn't that easy." Elijah drank from his glass.
"How's Rachel?" Andrew asked and laughed when Elijah shot him an irritated glare.
"You both better keep it in your pants and don't you dare do your dirty deeds in my office," Elijah warned.
"We've only done it once in your office," Andrew told him and Elijah almost spat the wine from his mouth if it wasn't too good to waste.
"How dare you!" He yelled.
"It was the most uncomfortable sex of my life, she was on your table and it was not sexy at all," Andrew replied nonchalantly as he sipped from his glass.
"You two are unbelievable!"
"That is why I am unmarried."
"You did get married but you couldn't keep your libido in your pants so Michael divorced you." Elijah would never understand his friend.
"And he left with half of my Estates too." Andrew seethed.
"You should have told him from the beginning that you wanted an open relationship but as expected you didn't and you ended up hurting the only person who's ever looked at you and loved you and not for sex alone."
"Maybe I wanted just sex, ever thought of that?" Andrew met his eyes. "What fun would it be to fuck only one person for the rest of your life? Andrew was never going to change.
It wouldn't change anything if they went on with this conservation and so Elijah switched the topic to something more fun. "On to pressing matters." Elijah started but the other man soon took the word right from his mouth.
"Adrian, right?" Andrew asked and immediately he caught the spark in his best friend's eyes. "Too late isn't it?" He asked again and when Elijah didn't reply, he got up and moved closer to the man.
Elijah fell into his embrace, his head resting on Andrew's shoulder. "He does things to me, things that I just can't explain. I am losing my mind, Drew." He whispered.
Andrew didn't understand why a man, as charming as Elijah had to be stuck in such a messed up situation. "You deserve to be happy with whomever you choose, nothing should stop you." Andrew held the man with love.
"Everything stops me."
"Jack is dead, you should move on."
"I can't, I fear for the life of that boy. What if Jack happens all over again?" Elijah got up on his feet to pace the room.
"You won't let that happen." Andrew looked at him.
"What should I do?" Elijah sounded so helpless.
"Tell Nova and get this over with once and for all," Andrew almost yelled.
"I can't."
"Yes, you can."
"I can't. I'll lose everything!" Elijah ran his hand through his hair. "Everything." He whispered.
"Not everything, at least for once you know you're standing up for you. Do this for you, Elijah. Stop thinking about everyone else. This is about you!" Andrew got up to go hug the man and stop him from pacing like a caged lion.
"I do, I really want to do this for me but I can't. I've worked so hard to just lose it all for the sake of love."
"You have been running this company since you turned twenty and until now, you have never disappointed anybody but yourself, you've achieved so much in eighteen years. Your father and Mr. Littlefield have been in retirement since the day you turned thirty, there is no better time to tell especially your father what you feel now, what you suffer and what you have had to hide for many many years." All the while Andrew spoke, he held the man tightly in his arms. "I love you and I hate to see you like this." He squeezed Elijah harder into himself and heard the other groan.
"The deal is the first to leave this marriage loses everything to the other." Elijah pushed away from their hug to lean on the wall. "If I tell my father then Nova gets it all. Just like you said, I have worked so hard and I can't let it all go."
"Even for him?" Andrew asked.
"Drew..." He pleaded. His eyes wet with unshed tears.
"Answer me! Even for HIM?" He fired back.
"I don't know!" Elijah took the bottle and drank directly from it. "I don't know." He cried more softly after he has taken the bottle out from his mouth.
"At thirty-eight, and you still do not know?" Andrew took the bottle and drank from it just as the man had done before. "You lost one before, don't lose another." Andrew hiccupped and Elijah forced a laugh.
"You are drunk," Elijah stated the obvious.
"I've been for a while." Andrew smiled.
"Lie down." Elijah led him to the bed and once the man fell into it he undressed him and left him with just his boxer brief and then covered him with the duvet. "I love you too." He whispered and made to leave.
"Stay with me," Andrew whispered. The man was suffering, he could feel it. Sometimes all Elijah needed was a boast, someone strong enough to press that button and give him that push.
Someone he loves.
Someone like Adrian.
The day Elijah had called him and told him about Adrian on the phone was the day Andrew knew. Just by the sound of his voice, he knew that his best friend was a goner. He didn't talk about it because he wanted to look the man in the eyes and tell him what he had in mind.
Elijah stripped his own clothing and climbed into bed. Once he was inside the duvet, Andrew pulled him into his chest and held him close.
"That's a beautiful mark you have there and I know it's not from Nova." Andrew smiled and traced his fingers on the mark.
"I can still feel his teeth on my skin." Elijah almost moaned.
"Both parents used you, they betrothed Nova to you from the day she was born just so they can keep their relationship and so creating a stronger bond for their selfish interest but not once did they consider that this decision might not be what the children wanted but this isn't about your parents now, it's about you, Pussycat." Andrew kissed his hair and soon enough Elijah heard his light snoring.
******
Andrew was right, his father never considered him when he made those decisions and because there was nothing he could have done, they had made him marry Nova at twenty-two while she was twenty he didn't say no. He loved her, he grew up knowing her to be his wife and when the time came and their parents got them joint in holy matrimony, he couldn't have objected because at the time all was perfect and soon they had Justin and two years later Mila came along. Life was smooth and beautiful. Everything was perfect until he got Billy and Jack Silver came into the picture. He's never questioned his sexuality until he met the boy, everything went downhill and soon he could not control his emotions and he caved. He remembered going to his father to tell him about his ideas of wanting to leave Nova. His father's words to him that day killed the last hope he had and had left him helpless ever since.
He was in a dilemma and he didn't know what to do. At some point, he was this close to telling Nova about Jack but then Jack died.
Now, there is Adrian.
The worried man blew air from his mouth and felt Andrew pull him closer. The action caused him to smile as he knew the man must have felt him tensed up.
Elijah shut his eyes and let sleep claim him.
Her father and I had your wills tied, and if you leave her, you lose all your inheritance and if she leaves you, then she loses all of hers.
His father's words, the last thought on his mind.
*********
A black Range Rover Sport parked and its occupant stepped down from the car on a black coat with a black hat covering their head. They pushed down the black sunglasses to take a quick peek at their surroundings.
Clutching a bag to their side the stranger walked into the hotel. They know just where they were headed and when they got to the right spot another man sat in wait as he expected his visitor.
"Hello." The stranger greeted and took a seat next to the man.
"I was starting to wonder whether you're not going to make it." The man whispered. "What is it you wanted to talk to me about?" He asked.
"He's at it again." The stranger spoke.
"What do you want?"
"I want to know all about this boy, Adrian. Every little detail." A tune so eerily whispered.
"Elijah's Dog sitter?"
"Yes."
"You know you can always count on me."
"Good." An envelope was dropped on the table. "You shall be getting the rest of your payment after the job is done." The greedy man quickly shoved the wand of cash into his pocket.
"Nice doing business with you." The man smiled as the stranger walked out of the hotel.
Another one up!!
