Lacey's POV

Applause. "Let's give it up one more time for Lacey and Jase." The principal says. I curtsy and Jase bows.

I go and change back into my dress and Jase changes back into his tux. I dance some more and get my final slow dance with Jase. Out of nowhere, Jase grabs my hand and pulls me out the gym.

"Where are we going?" I ask while we're walking across the parking lot of the school.

"The park." The park?!

"I'm in heels! And they're gonna announce prom king and queen soon." He stops and bends down in front of me.

"Jump on." I jump on his back and he starts walking again. "And don't worry. We'll be back in time. I asked the principal to wait until we come back and he said he would since we did such a good job and he didn't have to pay for entertainment. Cheap ass."

We laugh. "That's not nice Jase."

"It's true."

"Okay fine it is."

We finally get to the park which was a little bit down the street from the school. I jump off Jase's back and we walk to out special spot together hand in hand. He lays his jacket on the grass and tells me to sit on it. I say thank you.

"Lace. I am so sorry for bringing Hope to our special spot. I mean I shouldn't have brought anyone. I don't know what I was thinking."

"It's okay Jase. I forgive you. And I know you mean it when you apologize." I kiss his cheek. I can see his cheeks turn pink in the almost dark.

"So what do you think about all the colleges that wanted us just by seeing the play last month?"

"I'm so excited! Like over ten colleges want us at their college. That's over ten scholarships to choose from and one is Julliard! My dream school!"

"Yeah I remember you saying how you always wanted to go there. And we would be best friends still. We would walk to class together and eat lunch together. Hang out in each other's dorm room and eat junk food. Dance and sing together everyday."

"Haha yeah."

"We can still you know. It's a scholarship to Julliard. The best of the best performing arts schools. Your dream come true."

"What about your dream come true? I want you to be happy too." I look over at him and notice he is staring at me with love in his eyes.

"You are my dream Lace. You are my best friend. You're my princess. I've always dreamed of someone like you. That's all I wish for."

Aww that was so sweet.

He leans closer to me. Closing the distance I kiss him hard. I wrap my arms around his neck as his hands tighten on my waist and pull me into his lap. He lays back on the grass and I straddle him. I pull away really not wanting to.

"I really like you Jase."

"I really like you too princess." He pecks my nose. "Now come on. I don't want you late and missing the crowning of King and Queen."

I smile and get off him. He stands up and helps me up and gives me another piggy back ride all the way back to school. I keep my head down and my face in his neck .

"Attention. It is now time to crown our Prom king and Queen. Nominees for King were Duke Robertson, Lance Reed, Matt Williams, and Jase Rodriguez. And the Prom King will be... (Drum roll) Mr. Jase Rodriguez!" Everyone applauds as Jase goes up to the stage and gets his crown. "Now for his queen. The Prom Queen nominees were Hope Lane, Chasity Richards, Lacey Robertson, and Emilie Vasquez. So the Prom Queen is... (Drum roll) Ms. Lacey Robertson!"

Everyone claps and whistles. I walk up to the stage and get my tiara and sash. "Now the King and Queen will have the slow dance in the middle of the room."

Jase holds his hand out for me to take. I grab his hand and he pulls me to the middle of the floor.

Everyone joins in with their dates or partners to dance with.

"I'll be back." I tell Jase. He nods and lets go of my hand and waist.

I leave the gym and go to the bathroom. After I'm doing with my business, I walk out the bathroom and down the hallway just to get pulled into a dark empty classroom. And no it's not Jase. Stop thinking dirty.

Hope stares at me with anger in her eyes.

"What do you want whore? Oops I'm sorry I meant Hope." I fake smile.

I may have told her she looked nice in her dress or whatever it is... But that does not mean I like her. Plus she just kidnapped me... well kind of.

"What are you doing after graduation?"

"Going to college duh. Why?"

"Where are you going to college?"

"Me and Jase were talking about about going to Julliard. Why does it matter?"

"You really want to take Jase away from the baby. Why don't you just go on to New York and me and Jase will stay here where we belong. We will be together which will be good for the baby. Not Jase ,the daddy, with some whore who thought dragging him along would work out. What happens when I have the baby and Jase leaves with you? The baby will start talking and asking where's daddy? You know how it feels to lose one parent. You don't want that to happen to Jase's baby do you?" Hope asks me smirking. I don't at anything back so she takes that as her cue to leave.

Oh how I really want to punch that smirk off her face.

I know she's right though.

I can't ask Jase to come to college with me. Even though I really like him I can't ask him to leave his child here with Hope. The baby would be born and ask where's daddy. Jase can't leave. So I make my decision.

I can't tell him that I'm leaving.
