Lacey's POV

After we leave Starbucks, Jase asks if it's alright to go visit his sister. And I tell him of course it's fine. After 20 minutes of driving we arrive and he parks outside the huge building. We walk in hand in hand to the nurse counter.

"Can I please know what room Taylor Rodreguiz is now in?"

"Do you have relation towards Ms. Taylor?"

The nurse flirts with him by batting her fake eyelashes, but she looks like she has something in her eye. It seems as though she is in her late 20's. She has blonde hair and blue eyes. She would be pretty, IF she didn't cake her face with makeup. Out of nowhere she puts her hand on his arm. He slightly grimaces while trying to pull his arm out of her grasp.

"Can you just tell us where his sister's room is, so we can be on our way?" I snap at the annoying nurse.

"Sure. She's in room 210 on the third floor." She snaps back at me.

I glare at her and pull Jase's hand, dragging him to the elevator. I step inside and throw Jase's hand out of mine. Then I press the number three button and lean in the corner of the elevator with my arms crossed.

"Aww princess. What's wrong? Is someone jealous?" He smirks and walks toward me.

"Um no. I'm not." He puts his arms by my shoulders. My heart speeds up.

"Yes you are." He smirks.

Stupid smirk... I'm literally so close to slapping the crap out of this boy.

"No I'm not."

"Um yes you are."

I don't answer back or look at him. He leans forward and kisses my neck. His warm breath on my shoulder makes me shiver.

"Come on princess. You can't give me the silent treatment." He keeps kissing my neck, "Okay you weren't jealous."

"Good."

"Maybe just a little bit."

I glare at him as he laughs then the elevator door opens with a ding. He moves away from me, grabs my hand, and pulls me towards room 210. Jase knocks on the door and a tiny voice on the other side says come in.

Jase's POV

We get to the door and I knock on it. A voice on the other side of the door says come in. Lacey reaches for the door knob and opens it. When she does I see my little sister, Taylor. She is 12 years old and was diagnosed with cancer almost a year ago. And she isn't getting very better.

"My baby!!"

Lacey runs up to Taylor and hugs her while kissing her entire face. Taylor was always Lace's favorite. Lace would always come over to our house and play dress up or hang out with her.

"Hi Lace! Hey bro!" I walk over to her hug her and kiss her forehead.

"Hey loser." Lacey gasps and punches me in the arm.

"Hey! Leave my baby alone!"

I make a pout face, "I thought I was your baby."

"Yeah you wish." Lacey scoffs as she moves to Taylor and hugs her. "This is my one and only baby."

"Lacey!" My sister gasps and yells at Lace.

"What?!"

"When did you get a tattoo? And why didn't I know?" Taylor holds Lacey's wrist looking at the tattoo.

"Oh. Well I got it like 2 years ago for Jase's birthday."

Taylor looks at me, "Wow I've never noticed it. Did you get one too?"

"Yeah it's on my chest. It says always."

She looks between the me and Lacey with a confused face. Then her face changes to awe.

"Soo you guys got tattoos together and when you put them together, it's forever and always? Cute!" She teases us while wiggling her eyebrows.

"Ew she's becoming more like you everyday. You've corrupted her sweet little mind." Lacey says holding onto Taylor's head patting her shoulder.

Wow my best friend's a weirdo!

"Hey! I heard that! Rude!" Lacey says glaring at me. But she looks cute when she's mad.

"Oops! Did I say that out loud?" She sticks her tongue out at me and turns back to Taylor.

"Oh guess what Lacey?!" Taylor looks at Lace with excitement in her eyes.

"Um guys I'm still here too." They look at me with a face that probably said 'so?'

"Anyways they are having a dance here and this boy across the hall asked me to go with him!"

Wait! A boy?! I don't think so!

"Ohhh!!!" Lacey giggles and claps her hands together.

"A boy?" I ask confused.

"Shh sweetie the grown ups are talking."

"Grown ups? Neither of you are even 18 yet sweetie." I chuckle as she glares at me.

I put my hands up as if saying 'I surrender' then stop talking and sit down beside my sisters bed and listen to them.

"But maybe I shouldn't go?"

"What? Why Tay?"

"Because I'm not that pretty..." She whispers and trails off.

"What?!? What are you talking about?! You are beautiful. Bea-u-ti-ful! I wish I was as pretty as you!"

"No you don't. Plus I can't be pretty. I don't have any hair."

"Babe, beauty is not your hair, or your clothes, or even how much make up you wear. Beauty is what's on the inside. It's your personality, your traits, your special qualities. It's why people like you! You are gorgeous and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. When I see that smile on your face it brightens my day. You are gorgeous, your inner beauty is beautiful, therefore you are a trillion times pretty. And don't ever doubt it again." I see Lacey's eyes starting to water, Taylor hugs her.

"Thanks Lace!"

"No problem! You're my gorgeous baby! I gotta make sure you smile! That way I can too."

Lacey's speech was amazing. She would be a great mom.

"Thanks princess. That was amazing." She looks over at me and smiles.

She is making it so hard to only have feeling for her a friend. She is incredible.
