Time sure flies so fast, and before I knew it, I was graduating middle school. What was surprising was that even though I've only been here for a grade, the school still gave me a yearbook.

Grace, Indiana and I were sill friends, but I could sense that Grace was becoming more careful than she was before when she talked. Which was a good thing for me.

Grace was going to attend a local public high school, while Indiana, Alice and I were going to attend on the same private school. I was really glad to find out that Alice was also applying there.

Few weeks ago, the enterance exams was held, which I was extremely nervous for, and surprisingly I passed. I just couldn't wait to start high school.

Flash forward to the next few weeks, and it was graduation. I was wearing a simple, white pouf dress with a matching pair of wedges, which made me slightly taller. On the outside, I wore a blue with hints of gold toga and a matching cap.

Talking about height, I think I grew two or three inches in a year, which made me happy. I hope I'd continue to grow so I could catch Grace up.

It was soon going to be the part where each and everyone of us would get on stage and receive or diplomas. This year, the graduation was held in the school's auditorium, which I was so thankful for.

I was one of the first people to go and receive the diplomas since alphabetically, my last name starts with an a.

As it was my turn to get my diploma, I carefully stepped up on stage and made sure not to trip over myself like I amost did during elementary school's graduation.

Few hours after that, it was nearly the end of graduation, and now the school's serving lots of foods, which made me happy.

Students go to other students to ask to sign each other's yearbooks, and surprisingly, some people asked me to sign theirs, too. But probably they asked me just because they wanted a lot of signs.

As I stood on the juice bar, I felt somebody touching my shoulder, making me shock. I turned around to see Grayson looking at me. I haven't seen him in a while, I bet he had to sign a lot, since he was quite popular.

"Hey, you haven't signed mine, right?" he questioned as he opened his book. "Care to sign mine?"

I smiled at him. "Sure, why not." He handed me his book, and just like how I expected, the first page was already full and crowded with people's signatures and messages, but surprisingly there were still some spaces left.

Grayson! We've only known each other for a while now, but you've helped me quite a lot. Thank you so much for being kind to me. I'll miss your jokes and kindness. :) -Aveline Amaya.

After signing my name at the end of my message, I looked at it once again in case if I've written anything wrongly, and thankfully I didn't, so I returned it back to him. "Thank you," we accidentally said at the same time and laughed.

Somebody suddenly called Grayson, and he looked at me. "I guess I'll see you later." I nodded my head and waved at him.

I went back to my seat, and opened a page of the yearbook because I hadn't actually seen what Grayson wrote to me.

Aveline, the Japanese girl. A year ago I wouldn't have expected to meet and befriend a girl from California, which actually envied me since I've always wanted to go there! Well, I know we're going to go separate ways as we go to highschool, but I hope you won't forget about me. I'll miss you! :D -Grayson Clark

His message actually warmed my heart. I smiled as I read everyone else's message. Indiana, Grace and I had agreed not to write each other's messages until the end of the ceremony.

I closed the book and looked at the people around me. I saw Alice sitting down a few rows away from me, so I stood up and went to her. "Hey, I realized you haven't signed my book yet," I said, as I looked at her.

Alice looked at me and smile. "Oh right! Let's sign each others' books then," she exclaimed, and I smiled at her.

I started to sign her book with a message saying how excited I was that we'd be going to the same highschool, and other things like that.

"There you go," she said as we handed back each other's books. The seats beside her was empty, so I sat on one of them.

"Have you bought yor uniform yet?" I questioned as the school we'd be attending to required uniforms. She shook her head at me.

"No, I haven't. You want to go there together?" she asked, "I'll ask my mom and you could ask yours."

I nodded my head excitedly as I was sure our moms would allow, because both of our moms were now friends.

Soon, time flew by and before I knew it, it was almost time to say goodbye. Indiana, Grace and I had just finished writing each other's messages. Indiana's message was nearly the same as mine with Alice's, but Grace's one surprised me.

Hey, Amaya. We've been friends for about a year now. Can you believe it? Now, that we are going to different ways, I don't want to leave it with quite a tension between us. Yes, I noticed it, too. I sincerely apologise for all the times I say such mean things, and for not realizing I hurt you. You're such a good friend I have, and I don't think I deserved it. I hope you'd forgive me. I'll always remember all times we spent. Hope you'd like to still be friends with me. Sincerely, Grace Stewart. :)

I nearly teared up at her message, and I hugged her, which probably surprised her because at first she was stiff, but then hugged me back.

Suddenly I heard a sniffle, and it came from Grace. "Stop crying, you're going to stain my dress," I said jokingly, but she laughed.

"Shut up, you are, too," she said, and we motioned Indiana to join in the hug-a-fest. Few minutes after that, we broke our hugs, and bid farewell to each other.

As they left, I was heading back to my parents, and found my parents talking to another pair of parents. I looked around and saw Alexander Howell alone, walking to the direction I was heading to.

I apporached my parents, and they looked at me. "This is our daughter, Aveline," my mom introduced, and I smiled at the couple in front of us.

"Our son is here too, that's him," the lady said, looking at her son. "Alec, come here."

Alexander Howell eventually came and smiled at my parents. Both of our parents were still to each other, so I sat down at one of the empty chairs, and Alexander also sat there. Not really knowing what to do since I was just feeling awkward, I opened my book and re-read all the messages people left me there.

"You want me to sign yours?" I heard a voice asked, I looked at the boy beside me as he was looking at me. Was he speaking to me? This was the first time he actually had a conversation with me. I blinked, and he looked at me.

"U—Oh, yeah, sure," I said, gaining back my smile as we exchanged books. I wasn't sure of what to write to him, but I just wrote what I thought made sense.

Hi, we've been in several classes together, but we've never actually got to talk. It was nice to know you. :) -Aveline Amaya

I wanted to slap myself for being too sappy and awkward.

He looked at me as we exchanged books, he muttered a 'thank you,' and I answered, also answering the same thing he said.

"Okay, it's time for us to go, Av," I heard my dad say as his parents and mine stood up. I stood up, we bid goodbye to them, and went home.

As I got home, I had a big smile on my face as I replayed the little interation we had. I didn't get to see what he wrote, so I ran to my room and opened the book.

Aveline Amaya, you're new here, right? Well, we've never actually talked, but you seem like a cool girl. I should've tried more to interact with you. Sorry if I seem arrogant or anything like that, I just didn't know how to approach new people. I guess, maybe give me a chance if we meet anytime in the future? :) -Alec Howell

Hi.. So this is apparently the last chapter of He Never Did, yay! This will be officially the first book I've ever completed. I'm so sorry for the long chapter and also for this author's note. :)

Are you ready for the epilouge?
