>> Ankita's POV <<

Thank god I reached the clinic on time. There were only 2 patients today so it went fine. Being a dentist along with working as a counselor had been a bit difficult. This reminded me that I had to meet one of my patients for a counseling session.

Though the morning work got completed easily still my so-called 'NEW' senior hadn't arrived yet. I wonder what Annu must be doing. It was already nine so I guess Mrs. Goel must have arrived and she must be working.

"Ankita there is a little kid in here can you please help us handle her??"

My colleague Riya called me. I don't get it why was it difficult to handle a kid for them. Though it is painful for kids but it was easy for me to handle them... Only sometimes!

"Coming Riya!"

>> After 30 minutes <<

Let's be honest here now, this girl wasn't easy to handle; she was really notorious. It was really difficult for the first time. Kids were easy around me but this one kept on speaking though she was suffering from pain in her tooth which got converted into a pain in our ass.

My phone vibrated indicating I had a message.

It was from Annu,

My love ❤: So how's the new senior siso??

Me: He hasn't arrived yet!!

Me: No sense of punctuality

My love ❤: Haha!!! Don't worry he'll be there soon :)

Sure she is a mood changer.

"Ankita someone's here for you," Riya said in a teasing tone.

"Is it Annu??" I said excitedly.

"No... Someone special"

All my excitement dampened in just a quarter of a second when she said this.

"Ugh... Then there is no someone special Riya. Who's it?"

"Okay don't become the 'angry young woman' types." She said quoting angry young woman with her fingers. "It's your new senior."

"So? Doesn't he have legs? If he wants to meet then he should come here and meet; I am not going anywhere. In fact, he's already late."

"He says he wants you to show where you and your ex-senior used to work," she said emphasizing you.

"But why me?? Can't Mr. D'Souza show him?"

"HE FORCED OKAY? NOW STOP OVER-REACTING THAT HE'S LATE. JUST GO AND HELP HIM BEFORE MR. D'SOUZA FIRES YOU!!!"

"Jeez... Calm down Riya. I'm going. Where is he by the way?"

"In the reception area and don't let your volcano flow out over him. Stay out of your anger zone"

"Okay babes"

I started walking towards the reception area. I asked our receptionist where my senior was. She said he was in the sitting area but when I reached the sitting area I just saw a guy talking with the nurse there. I was about to go back to the reception area that's when someone called my name.

"Ankita!"

I turned around to see where the voice came from. It was the nurse calling me. I went to her.

"Sir, this is Ankita Sinha."

She addressed me while talking with the guy beside me. I took a brief look at the guy standing right beside me which left me completely shocked. But I couldn't let the shock out. I stayed calm and composed from the outside not showing the guy or the nurse that there was a whole zoo running inside of me because of this guy.

He turned around facing right towards me and giving me his full appearance.

"Hello, Ankita. I am Jaideep Goel. You can call me Jai. Nice to meet you. Hope we work out together—"

"Huh?"

Oh god, what was he saying... Was he in his senses? I guess by my tone he got to know that I used to hate those types of guys who flirt.

"—while working. You see."

After clearly having his look from up to bottom, in other words, after completely checking him out, my shock returned back to its senses leaving a shiver against my spine. Oh my god! He is the same guy Annu was making fun of with me. It seems her predictions were becoming true. What if whatever she said really happens?? Nah! No not possible. I don't love him. I cannot have feelings for him. But he is really hot and seems really generous. DAMN FIREY HOT!!!

What are you thinking Ankita you barely know him!!!

"Would you show me the place where you and Rohan used to work?" This guy was really giving me shocks every minute he spoke.

"Sure. How do you know Rohan?"

"The nurse gave me a brief about you and your senior."

He gave a brief pause and continued to speak again.

"Look you won't have to change your working practice or anything. Just show me how you work and that would work perfectly fine. What I can do is just promise you one thing that you won't feel awkward around me."

He talked so much just like Annu. Before I could even reply he started again.

"But probably you would feel awkward as you don't know me. Hey! I have a plan... why don't we take lunch together today if you don't mind. Please don't say no it's a really good chance for me to know you—"

He stopped mid-sentence and again continued realizing what he had said.

"—umm... I meant it's a really good chance to know each other so that we don't feel uncomfortable around each other"

"Don't you speak a lot?"

"I guess you mean 'Yeah sure I can have lunch with you and we can know each other better'"

I laughed at his statement.

"I won't say no to this."

"So does it mean a yes?" He was definitely high on hope... extremely high on hope!!

"I didn't say that!"

"But you didn't deny it either"

He said winking towards me.

"Ok fine. Now can we proceed to our work? I will show you everything and will introduce you to my colleagues so that you don't face any difficulties while I am gone for counseling."

"You are a counselor too?"

"Too?"

"Yeah... like I learned a bit of counseling while I was studying in London and even counseled some students who were under the influence of drugs"

"That's great! So I get my new senior who works exactly the same as me"

"Don't call me your senior. It sounds really weird when we both have the same amount of work experience. Consider me as your friend."

"Okayyyyy. That's really nice of you."

I introduced Jai to my colleagues and had a talk with him before leaving for counseling a guy who had to recover from his break-up. Like seriously this generation is going through worst things. I wonder what will the next generation be like.

"I will be back within an hour or two hope it goes well for you."

"Yeah don't worry about me. And all the best"

"All the best? For what?"

"Heart-broken. Heart-broken are the most difficult ones. Though most of the people go into depression still there comes no surety of them turning into harmful. So be safe!"

"This is the fourth session this month and I am all set with him. Don't worry"

"As you say. Still, be safe. Bye"

"Ya okay... I'll take care. Bye. See you soon"

>> After 6 hours <<

This had been the deadliest day ever. Today everyone's saying was going right. With everyone I mean Annu and Jai. This session was the worst until now. I had to face a lot in this session. With this guy forcing himself upon me to forget his past love and me getting a few scratches to rescue myself. I won't ever in my life counsel when no one's there in the house.

I reached my office. I didn't feel defended by what happened today like most of the girls feel. This was a part of my job which I had chosen since I got to know what counseling was and I knew I was gonna face this sooner or later with this guy or some other guy or girl. I was afraid what if Annu or maa and papa find out the scratches over my hand, they won't let me counsel this guy.

"Hey, where are you lost?" Jai spoke breaking the train of my thoughts.

"Huh?"

"I was calling your name and you didn't even respond. Is anything wrong?"

"No. Everything's fine. How did your day go up till now?"

I was kinda worried and just prayed god that he doesn't see those scratches on my hand.

"It was pretty amazing"

"Did you have your lunch?"

"No. I wanted to have it with you. You didn't have it either right?"

"You didn't have lunch! Are you out of your mind, its 3 and you haven't had your lunch!!"

"So didn't you okay? Stop shouting over me and let's go have lunch before this hunger gets consumed by my anger"

"Ok-kay." I stuttered because I got a bit scared over his change of tone.

>> Few hours later <<

We were done with our work. The shifts were changing and we were leaving as it was already 6:30. I was thankful to God that he didn't see those scratches, now I just had to hide those from my family.

"Ankita do you drive any sorts of vehicle?"

"Yeah I do"

"Do you have your own right now?"

I got to know where this conversation was heading. He wanted a lift and he couldn't simply ask. Uff this guy... I mentally smacked my head, why couldn't people ask for anything they wanted just straight away, why do they always have to ask stupid questions first!!

"Where do you live?"

"Huh?"

"Idiot! Where should I drop you?"

"Oh... Can you drop me at 'Goel's and Co.'? How did you know I was gonna ask you for a lift?"

"I have the power to read minds."

"Are you what Edward Cullen??"

"Yes!! I am an undercover vampire who sucks the living hell out of people!!!!"

"Oh god! That's one of the lamest thing I have ever heard!!"

"Hahahaha... Anyways, how did you know I was going to the same place? Why are you going to Goel's?"

"My mumma works there. Why are you going there?"

"My sister works there!!" I said a bit excitedly. "Is your maa's name Samaira Goel?"

"How did you know?? Wait a minute... Wait a minute is your sister Akansha Sinha??"

"Yess!" I replied stretching the 's' "How did you know?"

"I met her today morning"

"You met my sister??? I swear both your maa and Annu are gonna be surprised to see us together"

"I guess you should say Annu would be shocked the most to see us together"

"Actually yes"

With that, we left for going to 'Goel's and Co.'. I am really excited to see the look over Annu's face.

We fell into a comfortable silence while going towards the parking lot. It felt as if I had known Jai for a long time.

"Ankita?"

"hmm"

"I guess you should apply something over your scratches so that Annu doesn't see it... I guess she won't appreciate those scratches"

I was in utter shock. Truly, utterly shocked. When did he see those?

"Well maybe you are good at hiding but you can't hide the details from me."

"When did you see them??"

"When you were adjusting your sleeves, I was calling you but you didn't respond. I noticed what you were trying to do, you were absolutely lost in your thoughts and that's when I saw them. Did you disinfect them?"

"Yeah, I did. Maybe you are right, I should apply some concealer, it will hide the scratches a bit."

"And sorry for shouting over you.. but trust me I was really damn hungry!!"

I couldn't stop the laugh that escaped my lips, "It's okay! Don't worry I have been through the same"

After applying the concealer we left. Maybe this day wasn't that bad. With a sheepish grin and thoughts of how shocked Annu is going to be, I just couldn't help but just remember this day as one of the best ones up till now!
