twenty eight

Taehyung and Yoongi remained attached to each other, Taehyung wiping the blood off of Yoongi's knuckles with his sleeves in silence. They weren't crying anymore but they weren't talking either. Taehyung clung onto Yoongi's shoulder as Yoongi held his hands, warming them between his palms. Taehyung saw Yoongi in new light now. This guy was surely mysterious but he also had scars from his past. Scars that still pained him. Haunted him. He understood Yoongi better now. His anger and cold hearted behaviour. His loneliness from losing someone special. He understood why Yoongi blamed himself but if he's being honest then it was not Yoongi's fault in any way. Yoongi did not know something like that would happen to his friend, so how can he say it's his fault. He couldn't have known.

"Hey." Yoongi whispered. "You alright?"

Taehyung only nods.

"Don't be upset. Thinking about it wouldn't change anything.."

"It wasn't your fault." Taehyung said.

"It was. I was too selfish to-"

"No hyung." Taehyung pulled away from Yoongi looking at him with furrowed eyes. "You didn't know what was going to happen. You behaved according to your nature."

"My nature led her to her death." Yoongi looked into Taehyung's eyes.

"No. You have to realise that it couldn't have been your fault. The real culprits, it's their fault alone."

"I could've stopped her." Yoongi's voice shook.

"You know she wouldn't have listened to you." Taehyung whispered and smiled. "You have to let it go hyung. Think about how much you're hurting her by blaming yourself like this."

"I don't think I can let it go. It's not that easy."

"I know.. but it's not that difficult either. Have faith in yourself hyung."

They fell silent again. Both smiling at each other. Taehyung understanding Yoongi better. As each day passes, another layer of Yoongi's protective shell falls. It makes Taehyung want to know him more, rip the layers off to find what actually lies beneath it. The defeated Yoongi who just wants a chance to be happy again.

"Hyung, do you want ice cream?" Taehyung asked suddenly. He always eats ice cream when he's sad.

"No, thank you for asking though."

"Well then, would you accompany me?"

Yoongi raises an eyebrow at the boy who's looking at him hopefully.

"It's almost elven o'clock at night Taehyung, you should be going home. Aren't your parents worried?"

"No one's at home." Taehyung smiled sadly. "But yeah, I should go home. Got school tomorrow anyway."

Taehyung got up quickly, suddenly remembering that he hadn't had his dinner and had almost forgotten that he was hungry. Well, he is not really hungry anymore after everything that he just experienced.

"C'mon I'll drop you off." Yoongi sighed.

"Oh no that's not nece-"

"Don't argue with me kid. I'm not leaving you alone."

It only took one stern look from Yoongi to have Taehyung following him like a lost puppy. They walked for ten minutes before they reached Yoongi's car parked outside a shop and climbed in, driving in silence until Taehyung started giving Yoongi directions towards his house. At one point though, Yoongi stopped the car. Taehyung looked at him curiously but Yoongi only proceeded to take his seatbelt off. Taehyung followed him, getting out of the car and gasped when he saw an ice-cream parlour in front of him. Yoongi walked inside without a word listening to Taehyung giggle behind him.

"Which one?" Yoongi asked.

"Vanilla!" Taehyung bit his lip suppressing a smile.

"You're boring." Yoongi rolled his eyes but ordered it anyway.

"I'm classic thank you." Taehyung sassed taking out his wallet to pay but Yoongi stopped him by snatching his wallet from his hand.

"Hyung!"

"Quiet. Go sit."

Taehyung pouted, following Yoongi's commands nonetheless. A few seconds later Yoongi came to their table with a cone of vanilla and a cone of choco chip in his hand.

"Look who's boring now." Taehyung teased.

"It's still you kid. I've got chips in my ice-cream."

Taehyung laughed enjoying his ice-cream along with Yoongi. They sat in comfortable silence watching their surroundings and eating their ice-cream. Once done they left the parlour and were on their way to Taehyung's house.

"Don't walk alone at night Taehyung. I mean it." Yoongi said as he parked outside Taehyung's house.

"I won't hyung. Promise."

"Good. Now go."

Taehyung chuckled. Not offended by Yoongi at all.

"Drive safe hyung. Goodnight." Taehyung said getting out of the car.

"Goodnight kid."

Yoongi watched Taehyung walk inside his house before speeding off towards his own home.

Jungkook kissed his boyfriend when he met him in the school parking lot. They had decided to meet here every morning so that they could hide behind the pillar where no one would be able to see them kissing. Taehyung giggled as jungkook pushed him against the wall kissing softly on his lips muttering how much he missed him all night.

"I'm still mad, you know." Taehyung mumbled against jungkook's lips.

"Tell me what you want baby. I'll do as you say." Jungkook kissed Taehyung's cheek then his nose.

"My dad's going out of town for a few days, tonight. Sleepover?" Taehyung asked, ever so innocently.

"What about your mom?"

"She too."

"Okay then." Jungkook smirked, kissing Taehyung hard for the last time.

They walked inside their school building greeting their friends on the way. They had English first period so they went inside the classroom. Taehyung made his way to his regular seat but stopped and sighed when he saw a sticky note stuck to his chair with the word 'manwhore' written on it. Jungkook huffed and ripped it off, crumpling the note and throwing it in the dustbin. Jungkook had made it a point to not let Taehyung even glance at his locker and since Taehyung's books were in yeonjun's locker it was kind of easy to keep him away from his own locker, to avoid Taehyung from getting upset right at beginning of the day. Jungkook was pissed because now this note definitely made him fail in his mission.

"It's okay Kookie." Taehyung smiled. But Jungkook only rolled his eyes.

They sat through their classes luckily with not much trouble after the first period. Jungkook had his last period free so Tae decided to skip his last class too, to spend extra time with jungkook. They were giggling while walking to the janitor's closet. However they stopped on a particular turn when jungkook heard voices from the adjacent hallway where the janitor's closet was.

"Don't make me hit you Jinyoung."

Taehyung and Jungkook looked at each confused, when Jimin's voice came from the hallway. He sounded pissed.

"How about you stay out of this?" Jinyoung said, sounding mad too.

"When I told you about him and jaebum, I wanted you to take Jaebum away from him. Not bully him instead!"

Jungkook's blood boiled at that. Jimin was clearly talking about Taehyung here. He could feel Taehyung's hand on his back trying to calm him down.

"I'm not bullying him. Just teaching him a lesson."

"Whatever this is, it needs to stop. Right now."

"Don't tell me what to do."

"You-"

"Get lost jimin." Jinyoung's footsteps were heard as he left a frustrated jimin behind calling out to him.

"You asshole!" Jungkook couldn't hold himself back even though Taehyung was trying to hold him by his shirt.

"Oh great. You heard everything." Jimin rolled his eyes.

"You dare to hurt Taehyung again. Because of you Jinyoung is targeting him!"

"I didn't know jinyoung would do such a thing. And I definitely didn't want Taehyung hurt. I care about him. More than you ever will."

"Really now?" Jungkook gave a sarcastic laugh while Taehyung stood there nervously.

"You spout lies about him. About things you've done with him. And then you say you care? That's a new level of care I've seen for the first time man!"

"Shut it bastard." Jimin stepped towards jungkook. "You think you're better than me? I've heard you talk about him too. How you can make him scream. But guess what fucktard? He doesn't scream in pleasure, it's pain. You hurt him."

Taehyung closed his eyes letting out a breath. Jimin stepped way over his boundaries. Not even a moment later jungkook had pounced on him. Both boys rolling on the floor throwing punches at each other while Taehyung screamed at them to stop. God, what the hell is happening with him?! Why does he always find himself in these situations?!

"Jungkook please get off of him!" Taehyung shouted. But jungkook didn't listen.

After taking a few punches, jimin flipped them getting on top of jungkook and punching him square in the face. Taehyung had enough of this, he has to stop them somehow. He walked towards jimin grabbing the back of his school sweater with both hands and pulling jimin with all his might. He pulled jimin off jungkook and unknowingly threw him into the door of the janitor's closet, right when a teacher, specifically his math teacher, arrived.

"Boys!" Mr.Narumi's voice boomed across the hallway making the three of them look at him.

"This school is for students! Not gangsters!" He yelled. "All three of you, to the principal's office. Right now!"

Jungkook glared at jimin receiving a glare in return. Taehyung just sighed. Gulping down harshly trying not to panic. This meant that their parents will be called too and he was not in the slightest bit ready for what's about to happen. He was in trouble. Big trouble. And all he could do was pray to the gods he's ever heard of, as he followed his teacher.
