Taehyung was chewing his nails in nervousness as he waits for jaebum near the park bench. He tried to sit down and calm himself but that didn't seem to work. He's been repeating the monologue in his head but he's sure that when he sees jaebum he'll forget everything that he has prepared.

"Taehyung." Jaebum's voice comes from behind him and Taehyung gulps, turning around slowly.

"Hi jaebum." Taehyung tries to smile.

"How are you?" Jaebum asks, clearly understanding the awkward air that engulfs them.

"Good. And you? How ha-"

"Something happened at the party right?" Jaebum interrupts him with a knowing look.  Taehyung sighs in defeat and nods looking guilty as ever.

"I'm so sorry Jaebum. I didn't mean to lead you on like that. I just- I was trying to forget jungkook and I thought I'm over him but-"

"Jungkook?" Jaebum asked in confusion.

"Yeah... I like jungkook and we... We are dating now."

"Oh."

"J-Jaebum I'm so-"

"It's okay. Really. It's okay Taehyung." Jaebum gave him a strained smile which only increased the weight on Taehyung's heart. 

"Jaebum please. Yell at me. Even hit me if you want. I know I've hurt you... I don't know why I gave you false hope.. and I hate myself for doing this to you."

"No Taehyung. You did warn me. The day I confessed to you, you told me to forget it but I insisted. And I even told you that I'll be okay even if you reject me, it's my fault for taking things further..."

Taehyung could see jaebum crumbling. He was trying to keep a strong front but Taehyung could see right through him. The way he was holding his emotions back just made Taehyung hate himself more and more.

"I just hope jungkook treats you right and you always stay happy with him." Jaebum smiled. Taehyung bit his bottom lip to stop himself from crying too.

"I'm so sorry jeabum-ah.. but I'll always be here for you. Whenever you need me-"

"Don't Taehyung. I rather you not." Jaebum whispered dropping his smile. "I'm sorry but, I'm going to leave now."

And with that jaebum left, shoulders shaking as he finally let his tears fall. Taehyung too let out a soft sob, screwing his eyes shut and hitting his head with his fist. He wanted to stop jaebum. He wanted to apologize to him until jaebum finally forgives him and means it. But Taehyung knew that jaebum could never hate him, and he did forgive him for breaking his heart. Taehyung sighs wanting to be in jungkook's arms, wanting to be cuddled and, comforted by him. He wanted jungkook to tell him that everything's alright, that he did the right thing even though it did break someone's heart.

He walks out of the park with slumped shoulders, taking the alleyway to escape the crowd. He was beating himself up in his head until a faint whimpering sound invaded his ears. Taehyung looks around trying to find the source, walking ahead and taking a left turn. There he saw two boys dressed in a different school uniform throwing stones at a puppy who was trying to hide himself behind a dumpster.

"Hey! Stop that!" Taehyung yells running towards the boys feeling enraged. "The fuck you think you're doing you assholes?!"

"What is it to you dipshit!" One of the tall boys retorted, eyes rimmed red and he looked sort of high.

"Just go on your own way man. We ain't doing shit to you." Another one said looking calmer than his friend.

"You think you can get away with hurting an innocent animal! Hell no! Get lost from here if you don't want to get into bigger trouble!" Taehyung spat at the boys. His fists were clenched trying to stop himself from punching the two boys and breaking their teeth.

"Did you just threaten me!? Me! Do you know who the fuck I am?!" The stoned guy yelled.

"I don't give a damn about who you are! You hurt an animal! Calling you a caveman would even make the actual cavemen feel humiliated!"

"You fucking bitch!" The guy yelled and launched at Taehyung punching him square in his jaw.

Taehyung stumbled back from the pain that shot through his face. However he regained his balance and went to hit the boy but he was too slow. The stoned boy was already grabbing him by his collar throwing him down on the hard ground landing another punch. Taehyung tried to block his hits and heard the boy's friend trying to pull him away too but the boy above him wouldn't budge. He kept hitting and avoiding Taehyung's fists, even banging Taehyung's head to the ground which made him dizzy.

"What the hell is going on here?!" Another voice interrupted them and Taehyung was more than thankful.

The boy was pulled away from Taehyung and harshly thrown to the other side of the alley. Taehyung coughed looking up to see who had helped him.

"Who the fuck are you to touch me huh??" The stoned boy yelled.

"Officer Min Yoongi." The male with black hair said showing his police badge, looking pissed as hell. "Do you boys not have school work?! Huh?! Is this how to repay your parents for providing you with education and good lifestyle!"

"Officer please, I apologize on his behalf. He's not in his senses."

The officer glared at the two boys. The one being held behind was definitely as high as a kite right now.

"Oh yeah? More of a reason for me to arrest him."

The stoned boy began giving profanities bit was quickly shushed by his friend who was desperately trying to get them both out of this situation.

"S-Sir we're really sorry. Please excuse him this time. His family condition isn't the best right now and he would be in a deeper pit if he gets arrested..." 

"His family conditions do not allow him to consume drugs and beat people up."

Taehyung tried to sit up but groaned due to the pain he felt in his abdomen. This grabbed the attention of the ravennette officer who was quick to crouch down and help the injured boy. Taehyung let the officer help him up, holding the hand he was offered and allowed the officer to place his hand on his waist.

"You okay?" The officer asked Taehyung receiving a nod and a wince.

"I told you to go on your way, didn't I? Officer it's kind of his fault too." The stoned boy's friend reasoned while the stoned boy stumbled on his feet being held back by his friend.

"Shut it you-"

"You guys.. were h-hurting the puppy." Taehyung cuts off the officer. "You should've left the p-puppy alone when I t-told you to."

"But you-"

"That's enough!" Officer Min Yoongi yelled. "I'm going to let you two go this time but you two make sure that you never meet me ever again or I will make sure to put you two behind the bars. Am I clear?"

"Yes sir! Thank you so much! And we're sorry again."

"Get lost now." The officer growled and glared at the boys leaving the alley. He then turned towards the injured boy who was wincing in pain holding his abdomen.

"What made you think you could protect the dog when you couldn't even throw a proper punch?"

Taehyung looked down shamefully which only made the officer chuckle. He flinched when the officer grabbed the hem of his shirt and looked at the ravennette with wide eyes.

"Relax. I'm just going to see how bad the bruise is."

"I'm o-okay officer." Taehyung shyly replied tucking his shirt further down. The officer sighed and pulled his hand away from Taehyung.

"Are you sure kid? Do you need me to take you to the hospital?"

"No officer." Taehyung said just then he heard the puppy's cry again. He went and reached behind the dumpster pulling a small brown puppy out and started petting it.

"Aww you're so cute... Are you hurt little puppy? You must be hungry right?" Taehyung spoke in a baby voice with the puppy which made the officer's heart melt.

"Alright kid. Go home now yeah? And try to avoid trouble." The officer said and tried to escape before he could let his heart melt down completely because of this strange boy.

"Um officer Min..." Yoongi stopped and closed his eyes biting his tongue.

"What?" He asked suddenly being rude, making Taehyung frown.

"Could you please take the puppy with you?"

"No." Yoongi said and turned to leave again.

Taehyung's eyes went wide at the sudden cold-hearted behaviour but still, he tried to follow the officer only to hiss in pain which made the officer stop and turn towards him looking concerned.

"Are you-"

"Please officer.. I don't have the heart to leave this puppy here all alone."

The officer looked at Taehyung with an unreadable expression on his face. He wasn't glaring nor was he looking as if he was thinking about it. The ravennette just gave him a blank stare for almost a minute which made Taehyung think that maybe the officer fell asleep or something. He stepped forward to check the officer, if he's okay or no but flinched back when his onyx eyes moved and mouth opened to speak.

"Fine. Come with me." The officer said.

"W-What? Where?" Taehyung looked at him doubtfully.

"Kid, if you didn't already know let me tell you again. I'm a police officer you are safe with me." The officer exaggerated every word to send a clear message to Taehyung who blushed out of embarrassment.

"Right! Sorry! Um l-let's go." Taehyung started walking ahead of the officer with the puppy secured in his warm arms, fortunately not seeing the fond smile on the officer's face.
