Taehyung spilt his heart out to jungkook, telling him everything his father told him about his mother and sister. How they decided to take a divorce and why. Why eunji left and why he misunderstood everything his father always told him. Jungkook wiped his boyfriend's tears and felt anger course through his body. He hated Taehyung's mother more now for what she made taehyung go through. He was angry with Taehyung's father and sister as well for keeping him in the dark but he understood that they did it because they wanted to protect him. Taehyung is such a pure soul that nobody would ever even imagine to harm him in any way. He was that lovable.

Though taehyung assured that he was alright, Jungkook still stroked his back to comfort him. Kissed him all over his face to make him smile. Tickled his stomach to make him laugh inorder to distract him from those painful memories. It worked well as Taehyung was not crying anymore.

"Now tell me about yourself." Taehyung said.

"I will. But first promise not to pity me."

"Why would I pity you?" Taehyung frowned.

"My life is kind of tragic, so yeah, promise me you won't pity me after I tell you everything." Jungkook shrugged.

Taehyung was still confused but nodded nonetheless and promised jungkook.

"Okay then, where should I begin from?" Jungkook furrowed his eyebrows thinking for a few seconds. "So um, both my parents are males.."

"That I know jungkook." Taehyung said with a straight face.

Jungkook looked at Taehyung bewildered. He clearly remembers not telling taehyung anything about his family. Not even when he was drunk. Taehyung gave him a bored look in return.

"I saw the pictures in your living room kookie. Also, when you came to pick Soobin up, you remember that Sunday? I saw your other dad."

"Oh..."

"Silly kookie." Taehyung chuckled ruffling jungkook's hair.

"Well, so you know that Soobin and I are adopted then. Good. That wasn't so awkward."

"You don't have to feel ashamed about it kookie."

"Oh no. You got me wrong. I'm not ashamed about being adopted. Nope, nope. Seokjin and Namjoon are the best parents I could ask for and I love them a lot." Jungkook flashed his bunny smile.

"Now I'll tell you about my life before them." Jungkook sighed, his hold on taehyung tightening.

"I had a fairly good life before them. Loving parents and a decent lifestyle. My biological mother was very beautiful. Soobin and I got our looks from her." Jungkook winked at Taehyung who giggled.

"My biological parents had ran away from their families because they were in love and their parents were against their relationship as my mother came from a rich family who thought my father wasn't the right man for her. You know, not matching her status and all."

Jungkook made it sound like he was casually telling taehyung a story but taehyung could clearly hear the pain in his voice. Jungkook's smile didn't reach his eyes and it made taehyung worry.

"My mother left everything for him, she gave up everything for him. But they were fine. Absolutely in love with each other. So much that they had me. They were still in love when Soobin was born two years later. I remember how my father would play with us when he came back from work. I know he loved us. But, he had issues. Anger issues. Which I didn't understand."

Jungkook frowned.

"I used to hear my mother's scream from their room. I used to hear him hitting her but I never understood."

"Oh kookie.."

"I was six years old when I asked her about it. Her face would always have some sort of a color. That's why I asked her. And she said she was okay. Said he loved her more than anything in this world but sometimes he just couldn't control his anger. Said it was alright because he truly loved all three of us. And it's true taehyung, my father took my mother's name because he loved her so much."

"Jeon.." Taehyung whispered.

"Yeah.. I realized how big of a deal it was for a man to take his wife's surname when I grew up." jungkook nodded.

"I don't know what happened but right after she told me everything was alright, she was gone. My mother just... left. I thought my father took her away somewhere but he himself was mad at me for sending my mother away! As if I knew! That was the first time he beat me up.."

"Oh my God.." taehyung gasped feeling tears brim his eyes.

"He apologized to me the next day. Cried for hours, hugging me so tight and tending to my wounds. I was so confused and so so scared. But all I could think about was Soobin. Whenever I was at school I'd always worry about Soobin. Praying that our father wouldn't come home early and take his anger out on my little brother."

Taehyung bit his bottom lip as he felt his tears cascade down his cheeks.

"I took all the beatings, protecting Soobin the best I could. But one day my nightmare turned reality. I came back from school and father was there, in the living room, and Soobin was screaming. My baby brother.. crying in the corner with so many bruises on his body.." jungkook inhaled sharply. Taehyung covered his mouth to muffle his sob.

"Soobin was barely five years old back then. I couldn't see him getting hurt, so I did the only thing I could think of. I ran to our room and grabbed my wooden bat. I hit my father on his head as hard as I could with that bat. He fell to the floor. I didn't even see whether he was bleeding or not, I just took Soobin and ran out of the house. Soobin's forehead was bleeding, he was losing his consciousness. So I ran to the hospital with my brother in my arms. There I met Seokjin."

Jungkook finally smiled.

"He was the doctor who saw me barge in with my brother. I didn't even have to cry out for help because he was already there, crouching down and taking Soobin from me. They took Soobin somewhere to treat his wounds while Seokjin took me to his office. He knew something was up, a seven year old carrying a bleeding five year old, looking so terrified. Obviously something was up. Seokjin didn't ask me what happened. He just hugged me and kept whispering into my ears. I broke down then, cried like a baby." Jungkook chuckled.

"I met Namjoon later. I was with my brother when Namjoon came to meet us. Soobin was alright, no major injuries. When Seokjin told me that Namjoon was a police officer and I could trust him because he's seokjin's friend, I told him everything. Every single thing. I was so- oh my God baby, why are you crying?"

Jungkook wiped Taehyung's tears when he noticed him crying but it only brought more tears to Taehyung's eyes.

"Tae, c'mon. You don't have to cry baby, I'm alright." Jungkook smiled bringing taehyung to his chest and squeezing him into the hug. Taehyung sobbed, his heart broke from listening to what jungkook suffered. He always thought that he had the worst life but he was so wrong.

"Hey.. hey, look at me.." Jungkook cupped the hiccupping boy's cheeks. "Shh taehyungie, it's okay.. it's all okay.."

"J-jungk-ook-" Taehyung hiccuped unable to form sentences.

"Shhh.." jungkook kissed Taehyung's forehead trying to reassure him.

"I- I'm so s-sorry.."

"For what baby.. you did nothing,"

"I'm just- you went through s-so much and I- I-"

"Shh tae c'mon. You promised not to pity me."

Taehyung shook his head side to side, frantically wiping his tears.

"I'm fine now. Soobin is too. We're both living a very happy life Tae."

Jungkook smiled. Taehyung hugged him for the dear life and tried to stop crying. He knew jungkook hates to see him cry. But he felt so terrible even thinking about what all jungkook and Soobin had to go through. He couldn't imagine the pain. It was all too much.

When taehyung finally relaxed he asked jungkook to continue and apologized for interrupting him.

"Well that's basically it. Seokjin wouldn't let the NGO take us to an orphanage, and since he and Namjoon were married they decided to adopt us. However, I didn't take their name.. I requested Seokjin to let me and my brother keep 'jeon' as our surname instead of 'kim' and he was quite understanding. It's the only thing that we have of our mother after all. When I was old enough Namjoon told me that my father was arrested and he's probably imprisoned for life. I felt bad, yeah, but I was oddly okay with it. As for Soobin, he doesn't remember our biologically parents that much considering how young he was. When we told him the truth he took it pretty well, said that to him only Seokjin and Namjoon are his parents. Though he hasn't said anything about changing his name which means he too is holding onto mom's last memory."

Jungkook kissed Taehyung's forehead feeling taehyung snuggle more into him. Taehyung was almost silent, he sniffled here and there but wasn't crying hysterically. Jungkook kept a firm grip on his boyfriend, constantly kissing his forehead and squeezing him to give comfort.

"What about your mother?" Taehyung whispered after a few minutes of peaceful silence. Jungkook sighed.

"She.. passed away." Taehyung flinched at jungkook's words.

"H-how..?"

"I don't know.." jungkook lied.

"Oh my God.." taehyung broke down yet again and this time jungkook only held him. Letting him cry on his chest as he too was crying silently.

Jungkook's cheek was against Taehyung's forehead as the two boys cried in each other's arms. Jungkook knew what caused his mother's death but didn't tell taehyung because his boyfriend's heart couldn't have handled it. He can't see taehyung crying and that's why he lied, saying that he didn't know. Moreover, jungkook wasn't strong enough to voice out the words Namjoon told him years ago.

Jungkook-ah.. your mother was beaten to death.. by your father.. without him realising it. Her body was found in the basement. I'm so sorry.

A sob escaped jungkook's lips and he hugged Taehyung tighter. He screwed his eyes shut, trying to forget those words. He had to be strong. First for Soobin and now for Taehyung. He couldn't let his guard down.

"Kookie don't- don't bottle it up.. let it all out.. I'm here, I'll hold you." Taehyung sniffled.

And jungkook did just that. He sobbed along with Taehyung. The couple held each other being each other's anchor but letting out their emotions at the same time. Showing pain and comfort. They understood each other better now. Their pain and sadness. The trust was renewed and there was the birth of another emotion which both forgot to acknowledge. Probably they didn't realise it just yet. But it was there, growing more and more with every passing second.

I legit cried. This was the most difficult chapter to write.. :(
