"Tae that's enough love, you're going to give yourself a headache." Kihyun said rubbing the crying boy's back gently. However, nothing really helped Taehyung at the moment. Neither the soothing words nor the hot cocoa sitting on the table in Kihyun's office. Taehyung cried as his mind kept repeating the scene of Jungkook walking away from him.
"I still cannot believe what happened." Yoongi shook his head in disbelief, standing next to the window.
"oh my g-god... h-how could I do this t-to him?!" taehyung cried again.
"Shh its okay, it was a mistake right? It's fine tae.." Kihyun brought him closer to his chest.
Taehyung called yoongi right after Jungkook left, ignoring jaebum who was trying to console him. The last thing he wanted to do is listen to jaebum speaking to him. He hated the sound of his voice now, that convincing tone it held manipulating him. Yoongi brought Taehyung to Kihyun since he was terrible at comforting people, or so he thought.
"What were you thinking?" yoongi asked genuinely confused. He never imagined taehyung to be capable of hurting someone, be it physically or mentally. He had almost attacked jaebum thinking that the tall boy had forced himself on his precious Tae again.
"I just.. I don't know.. j-jaebum said he's letting me go and.. and I'm so stupid!" Taehyung hit his forehead with his palm and sobbed.
"Do you like him tae?" Kihyun asked.
"No!" Taehyung pushed Kihyun away. "I love jungkook! I've always loved jungkook!"
Kihyun and yoongi sighed.
"You would have never kissed jaebum if you loved jungkook." Yoongi stated matter-of-factly. Taehyung cried harder falling back into Kihyun's chest.
"However," Kihyun glared at yoongi as he began. "We can still explain ourselves to jungkook and make him understand, after he cools down."
"He hates me!" Taehyung wailed.
"No he does not." Kihyun took Taehyung's face in his hands and wiped the tears with his thumbs.
"He's upset, yes. But he doesn't hate you. You said he loves you, so I'm sure he will try to understand you."
"B-but,"
"Shush. No buts. I'm not asking you to call him right now because he definitely needs some time to himself." Kihyun said. "You're going to call him tomorrow and talk to him. Tell him everything. Apologise a hundred times if needed. Okay?"
Taehyung nods.
"Now c'mon, go home. Your dad's been calling yoongi for an hour." Kihyun chuckled watching yoongi angrily type on his phone. Taehyung only casted a small smile.
Kihyun called yoongi's name loudly to get the male's attention. Once yoongi noticed that Taehyung was looking at him he immediately stood up thinking that maybe the younger needed one more person to comfort him. He leaned his hips against the desk awkwardly hugging Taehyung, rubbing his back and patting his head.
"Take him home, will you?" Kihyun said, giving a pointed look to yoongi, as if warning him to not say anything stupid inorder to give a strong relationship advice.
Yoongi nods taking Taehyung's hand and pulling him up. Taehyung hugged Kihyun at the door of the cafe as Yoongi opened the passenger door for him. Taehyung silently cried in the car looking out the window. Seeing that Taehyung isn't going to calm down on his own Yoongi stopped the car right in front of an ice cream truck.
"Kid," Yoongi called Taehyung to gain his attention. "I don't know what to say to make you feel better but um, do you want ice cream?"
Taehyung chuckled and sniffled, nodding his head. He watched Yoongi run out and get two cups of vanilla ice cream, one even had sprinkles on it. Yoongi handed the sprinkled vanilla to Taehyung flashing him a gummy smile. The rare gummy smile which compelled Taehyung to smile as well and encouraged him to wipe his tears away.
"It's going to be alright tae." Yoongi said lowly, after Taehyung had two spoonfuls of his ice cream. He reached towards Taehyung hugging him from the side, this time it wasn't that awkward.
"Thank you hyung.. thanks a lot." Taehyung whispered back resting his head on yoongi's shoulder.
"Can I ask you something kid?" Yoongi asked placing his head on top of Taehyung's.
Taehyung hmmed for him to continue.
"When you kissed that guy... did you feel guilty?" Yoongi hesitated but asked anyway.
"I.. no.. I just wanted to get over with whatever I felt for jaebum." Taehyung sighed, twirling the spoon in his melting ice cream.
Taehyung sat up straight, frowning. Yoongi turned towards him, giving him his full attention.
"Jaebum.. he.. he's always been so nice. So supportive and understanding.. I don't know how he does that.. I don't know how he never says a word against me.. it's so..."
"Fake?"
"Surreal." Taehyung exhaled. "Too good to be true."
"You still have that necklace he gave you." Yoongi pointed out subtly.
Taehyung's hand immediately shot up to hold the delicate chain around his neck. He was again reminded of the time he'd spent with jaebum.
"I should throw it away.." Taehyung doubted his own thought.
"And show immaturity? Taehyung, throwing away gifts, does not prove anything but childishness. Don't he like that. These gifts are memories that help you form your story of life. They give you a glimpse of your past experiences. This necklace was given to you because you were important to someone, the least you could do is respect that thought by keeping the gift with you forever."
Taehyung was dumbfounded by such intelligence. Especially because it's coming from Yoongi. He mentally made a note to himself to not believe Yoongi when he says he's not good with deep heart-to-heart conversation or advises.
"But jungkook-"
"Will understand you. He just needs some time." Yoongi squeezed Taehyung's shoulder firmly. "Remember one thing Taehyung, relationships at your age, aren't always serious. Jungkook isn't the only guy in this world, the way Jimin wasn't the only guy in this world."
Taehyung wasn't sure what Yoongi was hinting at. But before he could come up with wrong conclusions, he decided to shut his brain and concentrate on counting the sprinkles floating in his ice cream.
Jungkook couldn't help the tears that cascaded down his cheeks like a river. He gave up on trying to stop crying as there is no use or way to stop his tear duct. He drove around angrily. Taking turns and turns and turns, going god knows where. All the while he had only one think in his mind. Taehyung's actions befor his abrupt confession. Jungkook wanted to believe him. He desperately wanted to believe him. His heart was in favour of forgiveness the moment Taehyung yelled the three words.
But his brain. It demanded proof. It was not allowing Jungkook to accept anything beyond was he had seen. It controlled Jungkook. Instructed his heart to shut up for a second and step out of the delirious state.
Jungkook came to a halt under a bridge. He hit the steering wheel twice and screamed, trying to release some of that frustration. He concentrated on breathing, to somehow calm down and think. But something caught his attention before he could start thinking rationally about the drama that he was a part of moments ago.
"What the hell..." Jungkook muttered to himself squinting and rubbing his eyes to clear his vision.
His eyes then widened when he saw his little brother leaning against a bike with a joint in his mouth. There was someone else with him but the unknown guy had his back facing jungkook. The other talking to soobin as he smoked, even leaning down to kiss soobin and inhale the toxic smoke from his mouth. Jungkook's blood boiled in his veins, his anger now directed towards soobin. He moved to get out of the car and grab his brother to slap some sense into him. But before he could get out of the car soobin had already mounted the bike with the same guy who wore a black helmet and they sped out from under the bridge.
Jungkook immediately started his car following his brother. Fortunately, the biker guy was taking him home. Jungkook stayed at a distance watching soobin hug the guy and kiss him again when he reached his house. Jungkook still didn't get a clear look of the biker. Once the guy left and soobin was inside the house, Jungkook went ahead, parked the car in an abrupt manner and barrelled into the house startling his parents.
"The fuck is wrong with you?!" Jungkook screamed grabbing the back of soobin's shirt and pulling him down the stairs before the younger could commence to his room.
He didn't give soobin any time to talk. He punched him square in the face as namjoon and seokjin came running into the hallway.
"Get off of me!" Soobin yelled angrily as well, pushing Jungkook away from him. Jungkook stumbled. Soobin took this opportunity to kick him on the stomach and create some more distance between them.
"Jungkook! Soobin! Stop it you two!" Namjoon yelled, standing between his sons. "What the hell happened!? Why are you two attacking each other like this?!"
"He's ruining his life dad! I saw him! Smoking under a goddamn creepy bridge!" Jungkook yelled. He was being held back by seokjin.
Soobin's eyes momentarily widened but he didn't let the panic set in.
"Is this how you deal with your problems soobin? Smoking and hooking up with random guys from the gutter?!" Jungkook struggled against his appa's grip.
"What?" Seokjin and namjoon gasped.
"Shut up! Shut the fuck up! Don't talk nonsense if you don't know shit about my life!" Soobin yelled ready to pounce on his brother, but namjoon held him back too.
"How am I supposed to know if you won't tell me!" Jungkook screamed. "I asked you a thousand times! Waited for you to reach out to me! But no! You have your own ways don't you!"
"How dare you punch me hyung! How dare you blame me!? And how was I supposed to come to you when you were busy sucking faces with your boyfriend all the time! Think about it, did you really have time for me hyung!? Did you?!" Soobin yelled.
"That's enough! Not a single one of you will yell now." Seokjin shouted then changed the tone of his voice, more stern, deep and authoritative. "Brothers don't degrade each other like this. If there's a problem you talk it out. Not punch and kick each other."
Jungkook fell silent at the mention of his boyfriend- ex boyfriend. He stopped struggling in seokjin's arms and stood still, eyes welling up with tears again.
"Well, you can come to me now. We broke up, good for you right?" Jungkook muttered, lost somewhere in his head.
Soobin deflated. His anger fading as he stared at his heartbroken brother. Their parents trying to process the typhoon that just passed by.
Jungkook stepped away from Seokjin, much calmer now. He didn't utter another word and just walked up to his room. Soobin stared at him but didn't follow his brother. Instead soobin left to his own room, a tad too drained to be able to comfort his older brother. He felt worse about himself now, he can't even be there for Jungkook when he needs him.
Namjoon and seokjin stared at each other for a second.
"You go to Jungkook, I'll check on soobin." Namjoon said. Seokjin gave a curt nod.
Seokjin knocked once before entering jungkook's room. His heart broke when he saw his son crying on the floor. He suddenly saw the seven year old boy again. Helpless and in need of someone to hold him. Seokjin quietly shut the door and padded towards his older bunny. He knelt down next to Jungkook wrapping an arm around his shoulder. Jungkook instantly curled up against his appa's chest, fisting seokjin's teddybear pj shirt. He sobbed as Seokjin held him. Not saying anything. But just being there.
"H-He said he l-loves me, but kissed s-someone else.." Jungkook cried. Seokjin stayed silent, only tightening his grip around Jungkook and rubbing his back.
"It has to be a mistake.. heck, I k-know it's a mistake. I know h-he didn't mean it but- but I.. I just... I don't know what to d-do appa!" Jungkook sobbed and hiccuped as he let out his heart to Seokjin.
"Shhh.. it's okay bunny.. it's going to be okay.. there must be a reason. Taehyung wouldn't hurt you like this." Seokjin said soothingly.
"My chest.. it hurts so b-bad appa.."
In all honesty, jungkook's entire body had been hurting ever since he saw Taehyung and jaebum kissing near that fountain.
"Seokjin!" Namjoon's panic filled scream startled the father-son duo.
"Seokjin!!" Namjoon called louder.
Jungkook and seokjin sprang up to their feet dashing out of the room and heading straight in the direction of namjoon's voice. Their eyes widened when they found namjoon holding a passed out soobin in his arms in the bathroom.
"Soobin!" Seokjin took his younger bunny in his arms and checked his pulse.
"Baby! Wake up bunny!" Seokjin shook him vigorously. Soobin whimpered in his semi conscious state.
"He fainted right after puking.." namjoon informed. "He was also on the verge of a panic attack when we were talking.."
Seokjin only nodded before picking up soobin bridal style and going to his room to lay him down on the bed. He checked soobin's temperature concluding he had a slight fever. Namjoon and jungkook came in with a bowl of cold water, a cloth and seokjin's medicine box.
"Should we take him to the hospital?" Namjoon asked, although he was worried he was trying not to show it too much.
"No. He's just stressed. I'll take care of him." Seokjin said. "Joon stay with kookie in his room for tonight yeah? I'll be here with Binnie."
The parents were stunned by the fact that they had no idea about what was going on in their sons' lives and the worst part is that they hadn't even bothered to ask them. They knew they were lacking. But they didn't know they were this terrible.
"I want to be alone.." Jungkook muttered staring at the box in his hand.
"I'm not-"
"Jin, let's give him his space." Namjoon said calmly. Seokjin sighed yet again.
Jungkook left the room, without another word again, after handing the medicine box to his appa. He laid under his blanket, not even having enough energy to change into his night clothes. His eyes stuck on a spot on the wall while his brain replayed a movie of all the events that occured from the time he tripped over his closeted blond classmate.
