Zhan and Yibo are sitting in their new apartment in Shanghai. They moved here just a few days ago after living in Seoul for half a year. They were unpacking the last boxes together and reminiscing about how hard the start in Seoul was for the two of them.

Even the departure was different than planned. Actually both wanted to fly together. But Yibo's fans, especially the younger ones, made it impossible for him to take a flight that left before late evening. Zhan, on the other hand, had to fly in the morning because the landlord of his new apartment was waiting for him to give him the apartment keys.

Then, when Yibo landed in Seoul and Zhan picked him up at the airport, they both realized how much they had underestimated Yibo's celebrity. They hadn't even left the airport when a crowd of fans ran screaming behind and beside them. On the same day, several reports and videos of Zhan and Yibo appeared on the Internet.

However, fortunately for them, no one suspected that the two men could be more than just friends. Still, it didn't get any easier.

Because the apartment building where Zhan rented his apartment had been full of families. Some teenagers recognized Yibo and suddenly after only three days in Seoul, lots of fans were standing in front of Zhan and Yibo's apartment door. In their absence, some fans even broke into the apartment and rummaged through everything and stole many things.

Since both of them were still sleeping in separate rooms at that time, afterwards it was just said that Yibo and his roommate his robbed by Yibo's fans.

They then moved into a hotel for a few nights until Mr. Park, Zhan's temporary new boss in Seoul, helped them and found an apartment for both of them in a secured apartment building with camera surveillance and security guards in the entrance area. They immediately moved into this apartment and felt much safer there than in the other apartment.

More and more rumors began to spread on the Internet that Yibo and Zhan were not just friends. More and more of Yibo's fans were convinced that the two were more than friends. And because of Zhan's fame in the art scene, it was no problem for Yibo's fans to find out who Yibo's friend is.

But because neither Yibo nor Zhan denied these rumors but didn't react to them at all, some fans felt confirmed in their suspicions. And unlike what Zhan and Yibo assumed, these fans started to support them as a couple. They gave them the name like "YiZhan" or "BoZhan" and created pictures of the two showing them as a couple. Some very creative ones even drew pictures of them.

However, there were also those fans, Solo fans as they are called, who hated these couple fans and so a real war broke out on the Internet between the supporters of the couple and the Solo fans. And even the Solo fans of the two were fighting with each other. It was just chaotic and made the first month in Seoul a real hell for the two.

Because soon the fans had found out where Zhan worked and came to the gallery every day. They followed Zhan around, taking pictures and videos of him incessantly. They shrieked every time they saw Zhan and kept asking if he and Yibo were a couple.

And finally, Mr. Park told Zhan that it couldn't go on like this. And that's why he asked Zhan and Yibo to talk and made them a suggestion that would hit the media like a bomb and the consequences were unpredictable. He wanted them both to give a press conference and confess to being a couple!

"I know this won't be a children's game. But only when you finally admit to being a couple and ask your fans to give you space, you can really be together and enjoy it. Zhan and Yibo talked about it for a long time and a lot. They also talked to Yibo's uncle and even had lawyers advise them on what consequences this could have for them, in their home country. And after all these talks, they decided against a press conference.

Until there was an incident that changed everything. Zhan was working in the gallery until late in the evening because a new exhibition had to be prepared. Then, when he finished work shortly after 10 pm and wanted to go home, he was again chased by fans and as a result of this chase, Zhan was injured when a car hit him. Fortunately, Zhan was not seriously injured because the driver of the car reacted quickly enough, but it could have turned out differently.

Yibo had gotten so angry that he wrote a post on his social media to vent his anger.

"To all my disrespectful fans and couple fans, I'm sick and tired of you! I've always been thankful for my fans and loved you all, but enough is enough! Tonight my boyfriend was chased through town by quite a few of my fans and couples fans and he got hurt when he was hit by a car! How can you call yourselves fans? How can you have so little respect for me, my boyfriend and our personal lives? How would you feel if someone did that to you? Don't you know any boundaries anymore? Can't you understand that I am only human, just like my boyfriend? Is it so hard to understand that I also love and want to be loved? That I want to be with my boyfriend without being afraid of you? Yes, I am in a relationship with Xiao Zhan. But let me tell you this, and I mean it completely serious. If you don't leave us alone and continue to pursue us, I will turn to other sites and add a lawyer! It' enough!"

Of course, the post had been immediately spread everywhere and at the latest the morning after, the Media also reported about it. They even added pictures and videos from the surveillance cameras that proved how Zhan had been chased through the streets. And to Yibo's astonishment, even the Chinese media joined in and clearly said: "Leave them alone! Respect their private lives and don't put their lives in danger!"

One channel had put together a special program about how idols often suffer because their fans, who no longer have a private life, and how disrespectful fans are to their idols. Videos were shown of other idols being harassed, pushed or even injured by their fans.

For over a week, Yibo's rant had been in the media over and over again. And more and more other stars, joined Yibo's rant and shared their suffering from some fans.

The couple got support and encouragement from all over the world and it totally overwhelmed them. Especially when a few politicians in China said that they support Zhan and Yibo and it's time for tougher laws, against these fans.

Zhan and Yibo never expected such a result. They rather thought that now everyone will pounce on them and they will feel hatred everywhere. But that was not the case. Instead, they received support and many kind comments, messages and even letters.

When Zhan went back to work, only a few fans were there and they handed Zhan flowers and letters, but otherwise kept a low profile. And it stayed that way for the next few days. Zhan was relieved and couldn't believe it yet.

The police even found those fans who chased Zhan that one night and those fans apologized to Zhan, but also to Yibo.

From then on, things finally got better and calmer. The two of them dared more and more to go out as a couple, to go out and no longer hid. Yes, of course, there were also negative voices, but mostly the voices were positive. They received a lot of encouragement and even congratulations for their relationship.

Zhan was finally able to work unhindered at Mr. Park's gallery and Yibo began his business studies because of his plan to open a dance school.And when they weren't working and studying, they spent their time together as a couple, doing as much as they could together.

And it wasn't until they had been a couple for 5 months that they also started sharing a room and their bed together. They would lie in bed together, cuddle with each other and fall asleep that way. Of course, they both wanted to sleep with each other too, but, they still wanted to take their time for that. They didn't want to rush anything.

Recently, they also started posting posts and pictures as a couple on the internet. They shared a little bit of their lives with their fans. And then they also started getting more and more requests to appear on shows as a couple and talk about their relationship and experiences with fans and media.

Again, Zhan and Yibo thought about maybe doing that. But after thinking it over, they were against it. Neither of them wanted that kind of publicity and neither of them wanted them to be in the spotlight as a couple. Yibo had worked hard to be able to become a private person again and Zhan never had much interest in being in the limelight.

But, Zhan became active again as the author Wei WuXian and of course Yibo, was the first to be allowed to read the book. The book was sold very well and there was already a request from the publisher, for another book.

And Yibo thought about whether he should start writing a book himself. A book about how he became an idol, how hard and rocky the road was and how his experiences with the media and fans were. Zhan thought this was a good idea, but reminded Yibo that he should concentrate on his studies first and that he would have time to write books later.

Saying goodbye to Seoul was difficult for both of them. They had settled in well during their six months there and liked it very much. At the same time, however, they missed their home country and their relatives, whom they had not seen since their departure.

On their last evening in Seoul, Zhan and Yibo had dinner with Mr. Park in a restaurant and said goodbye to him. Yibo had sold him his shares in the gallery a few weeks earlier. Without Zhan, he didn't want to be a manager there anymore.

When they returned to Beijing a few days ago, it was immediately known everywhere. But, to their delight, they were still left alone. They are finally living the life they wanted.

The only thing that awaits them now is the meeting of their two families. Because, the two have something important to tell their families. They want to get married!
