searching, not finding and getting pretty dam angry!
Annabeth wasn't at the hospital anymore. If she was, she was either trapped in a bathroom and starving or she was just really really lost. But I have looked for there for three days in a row and I was getting pretty darn frustrated.
It became awkward between me and Will whenever I came back after Tony was out.
Like, "dude, wnat are you doing here again?"
"Looking for my missing wife."
"Dude I promise you, the hospital would never kidnap your wife."
"And now you stand corrected because it did"
So I stoppwd looking there and started looking at her workplace, old warehouses, Shield, our house. It all ended in the same result: Annabeth wasn't there.
So, as a last resort, I went to Tony's house and started chatting. He said that the same thing happened to me when I was seventeen, right before the Giant war. Maybe it was the same?
At the time I thought it was ridiculous. Why would the gods want-
But then it clicked. It started adding up. A few months after the events of The Giant war, Apollo came and found a new oracle that would help us while he kept on searching for the other oracles. Chiron sent me with Rachel to that dome of talking trees (I know it sounds weird, but just hang in there. All will be explained in time) and I overheard the new prophecy.
When morning turns to afternoon
A child of Athena will answer the call
A cry like a siren will fill the air
A refusal out of grief and anger
Once good friends turned to enemies
Drowning in the oceans she once loved
An eye for an eye; a hero for a hero
Somehow this must've had something to do with it. It wouldn't be ringing in my ears like that if it didn't have something to do with this.
So, I grabbed Tony's wrist and dragged him out of the room where the others couldn't hear us.
"What the-" he protested. I stopped in the hallway and said,
"I have a feeling the gods have something to do with Annabeth's disapearing."
"Well, that's what I just sa-"
"I need to find out what happened and then find her. If they just took her away, I'm going to give them a piece of my mind!" I said and rushed out of the room
Tony POV
I have never seen Percy this crazy before. He was going crazy. I watched him those three days when he was searching for Annabeth. He would rush from one place to the next and trash every room in his house looking for her, even though he knew as well as I did that children of Athena wouldn't hide beneath couches or beds or behind doors. They were too smart for that.
He rushed out of the building and I silently followed him.
I followed him to the empire state building.
"600th floor please." He asked the man behind the counter.
"Hm-mm and is that guy behind you going with you?" The guy slowly asked and pointed to me. Percy turned to look at me.
I have never seen a face expression that terrifying, but it quickly softened. He looked back at the guy behind the counter and said, "yes, he's with me."
The guy nodded and gave him some kind of key. I followed Percy into the elevator and watched as he slid the key into a hidded slot and turned it. The doors closed and the he looked at me and smirked.
"I hate this part." Was all he said.
The elevator was slow and the music sucked.
About five minutes later, we walked into Olympus. It was actually pretty cool. There were statues of each and every gods. There were also fruit stands and temples and fountains and many more things I really don't wanna name.
I looked at Percy's expression. He seemed to get angrier by the second. His frown deepened and turned to a scowl. His face turned a shade of red. Either he was working himself up, or he was just furious no matter what.
We came to a huge set of iron doors, the faces of Poseidon, Zeus, Hera and Hades carved in stone. Percy smirked at the broken nose of Hera. He probably had something to do with that.
Percy didn't even hesitate to throw the doors open.
Inside, the gods Ares, Aphrodite, Hera, Zeus and Poseidon were sitting, gaping at the intruder.
"Perceus, what are you doing here?" Poseidon asked.
"Annabeth is missing and I know you gods have something to do with it!" He shouted so that everybody heard him. Percy's hair was wilder than usual, I noticed, and there were dark shadows under his eyes.
He looked around the room and saw Lady Hera trying to avoid eye contact.
"You!" He spat. "You took her from me!"
"I didn't have much of a choice. Something's comi-" she defended herself.
"I don't care!" He spat. " we did what we had to do. We fought three wars for you. The least you could do is give us one year of peace. I want you to bring her back now!"
"We can't bring her back now. She plays to big a part in this wa-" Zeus tried to reason. Percy's face turned a deeper shade of red.
"Fine!" He said, "but know this. Before I find her I won't lift a single finger to help you!" He hissed and stomped out of the room, slamming the door behind him.
Poseidon looked at her sister in shame. "I hope it was worth it, sister."
I rushed after Percy into the elevator.
He stood against the railing, stairing at his reflection with a mixture of sadness, anger and something else I couldn't quite read.
He saw me and only said, "I don't want to talk about it."
I put my hand on his shoulders and pulled him into a hug. "You don't have to."
